"Looks like we're stuck together."

And a stalled elevator was honestly not even in Mark's top ten worst scenarios, so he wasn't too bothered. At most he was going to miss a dinner arrangement with his sister, but after his last dinner party with her, well. No harm done.

"Should've figured the power might go out," he said, leaning against the wall with a sigh. "It has been a rough fucking winter."

It takes him a second, after the elevator comes to a full stop to actually respond, like he was giving it time just to see if it would all kick back to life if he just didn't acknowledge the hold up. When that doesn't work, he looks down, pulling up his sleeve to glance at his watch, nodding.

"Uh-huh." Thankfully this had hit him on the way down, but it was going to make him late for his next appointment, and a check of his phone assured him that he also didn't have any bars, probably thanks to the same snowstorm that was currently holding them hostage. He moves to the other side of their enclosure, trying to give the other guy as well as himself some space.

"So what's your deal? You work here? Lumon guy?" He taps on the handrail behind him, leaning back against it a little and turning to finally get a look at the man he could be spending anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours with depending on how this whole thing shook out. "You kinda look nerdy maybe like accounting or something? Record keeping?"

"of course." giving a small nod before taking a step back, about to keep going on his way before the taller's next words keep him in place. "yes." a short reply, only because he never knows how the scenario will unfold any time someone recognizes him in public. there's been a few chaotic incidents, to say the least. "bruce." quietly adding to attach a proper introduction. "he did? . . .how so?" that certainly intrigues him to stay, blues studying closely to hear more about the connection his father had with his parents. the next question is one he never knows how to answer, however. briefly falling silent, gaze dropping momentarily, "i am holding up well." brows gently creasing, it was painful to act like it was true.

"Uh-huh." he nods, putting his hands into his pockets. That was really all someone could say, wasn't it? That they were toughing it out like a fucking solider. All good. Kids probably sick of people asking, he probably shouldn't have brought it up at all. "I'm Kendall. Roy. We're the news people. They were uh. Business associates." He offers him a hand, and a half smile, trying to lighten the mood just a touch, "It's nice to meet you properly, but I'm sure I've seen you sneaking champagne at galas or something."

Brows raise as he swivels on his feet, eyes scanning the empty space in front of him for a beat before they finally drop, meeting the boy's face. Its familiar, but it takes him a second before he can place it, "...Thank you..." He was quick to slip the dropped phone back into his jacket pocket, "--- Hey... You're the um… the Wayne kid, right? My dad... uh. Y'know, he knew your folks... You holding up?"
