          despite the two only knowing each other for a short time, it was clear that they could get along. gabriella didn’t mind helping out, especially since he was new to town. there were a lot of new comers to camden in the past decade, and there were a lot of people leaving too. even though gabriella did a lot of traveling, she always found her way back home. “i don’t have any idea what you’re talking about. no one is lying here.” gabriella wiggled her eyebrows at him, trying her hardest to fight another smile. “i think you’re missing out on a great opportunity here! granted the shirt looks like it might be a little small on you but some girls are into that! my heart is racing just thinking about it.” she spoke playfully. 

As Patrick hefted the box back into his arms, he made sure to hold the bottom while slowly walking toward his front door assuming that Gabriella would follow. Glancing back at her, he flashed a grin. “This is all just a ploy, isn’t it? You’re just trying to get me into tighter clothes, I see how it is,” he teased the girl as he lightly kicked the front door open the rest of the way. Dropping the box in his mostly empty living room, he couldn’t help but laugh while he turned around to face the shorter woman. “If you want to catch a glimpse just say so, Gab, I’d be happy to oblige. I mean, I already know you have the hots for me, no need to pretend now,” He was joking entirely and he knew that Gabriella of all people would catch onto that, that’s why he enjoyed her company as much as he did.

Kai couldn’t help but laugh as he sipped on his own beer, it was possible he had entirely had to many but it was the first night he really had had off from the kids lately and he was enjoying just hanging with the boys. “And snape man…I mean I love him, I love him, and people that don’t just do not understand the whole damn film.”

With a rough swallow, Patrick set his glass down on the table -- perhaps a little too hard without realizing. “Thank you. I thought it was just me. I always liked Snape. Those who don’t are just crybabies, honestly.”

Isabel’s eyes widened momentarily at his glance before offering him another smile, dumping the remainder of his belongings over to the box. Swallowing roughly, Isabel’s attention briefly wandered over towards the car.  “Always am,” she stated, averting her gaze back over to the man in front of her. “Seriously, the sooner everyone in this town realizes that, the closer we’ll become to recruiting me as the best damn governor this county had seen,” she quipped with a short laugh. Quite frankly, she was enjoying their sarcastic banter more than she should’ve been. “Isabel Addison,” the brunette introduced herself, hand extending towards him. “—and you must be new to town. Made quite an entrance there.“

It had been a short exchange, but the woman had already man an impression on Patrick. It seemed that her sense of humor was similar to his own, that which he could always appreciate. With a short laugh, he nodded his head. “You’ve got my vote. Hell, I’d even put a sticker on my truck with your name on it, Ms. Isabel Addison,” he offered a crooked grin as he took her hand in his, giving a slow shake as his kinds eyes met hers. “It’s a pleasure. I’m Patrick Farley,” He then let go, letting his hands find their way into the pockets of his jeans. “That was all a part of my plan. Throw my belongings in the street and hope to catch someone’s eye enough to make my appearance known. How am I doing so far?”

xiomara was walking towards her car when she heard a rather startling noise coming from just a few feet away. she turned to find a man attempting to pile what looked like his belongings back into a box. the good samaritan in the brunette came out as she made her way towards him, picking up a containing that was beginning to roll away, “is this a good time to welcome you to town?” the girl joked as she placed the item down into the box beside the stranger.

his hands were full as he watched the case that held his clippers, thankful as a woman approached and gathered them before they ended up in the street. “thank you,” he chuckled, dropping the articles he was holding back into the box. “i have to say i would not have been a happy camper if my trimmers would have ended up getting run over by a car, those things get pricey.” glancing at the box and back up at the stranger, he nodded his head with an exhale of a laugh. “there’s no time like the present, right?”

Liv wasn’t usually the sort to randomly help out a stranger— in fact, she almost always avoided them at all costs as a general rule. That’s what made the brunette’s journey from across the street so surprising. Swooping down she retrieved a pair of boxers from the ground and then dangled them from a cherry tipped finger, sculpted brows already peaked. “I don’t know… from where I’m standing, it seems to be going great. I don’t even know you’re name and I already have your unmentionables in my hands.” An entirely playful smirk dug itself deep into one corner of her mouth as she tossed the article of clothing back inside of the box. “I’m kidding.” Being bold and outspoken without much of a filter was just in the girl’s nature. As she finally knelt to help lift the rest of his scattered belongings back to where they belonged she cast the man a curious glance. “I’m also pretty sure a welcome to the neighborhood is in order…?”

Having noticed a woman approach from across the street to help, Patrick was a little surprised. Appreciative, yes, but he didn’t realize anyone was around to witness the incident and he had to admit he was a little embarrassed. Luckily, the first words she spoke made him chuckle, realizing that she as well had a good sense of humor about it. “You’re right. A pretty girl handling my drawers without so much of an introduction, this is just about every man’s wet dream,” he joked while offering the stranger a thankful smile as they gathered the rest of his things into the box. As she spoke again, Patrick lifted the box and set it back into the bed of his truck for a moment. “If you feel so inclined, sure. I’m Patrick. Do you have a name?”

walking maxwell , the family dog , was no easy fleet . the bernese mountain dog was more than twice daisy’s size , weighing about the same as her . but she does it every time she has the day off , no matter how much of a pain it was . she’s a bit distracted by untangling the leash from her legs when she hears the  C L A T T E R  of things hitting the pavement . she manages to untangle the rope around her legs before she comes forward , saving herself the embarrassment of tripping .  she isn’t sure if the man knows she’s there or not , after all , he spoke , but it seemed to be under his breath , a mumble that was hard to make out . she approaches the mess like she’s going up to a wild animal , maxwell panting happily behind her . ‘  need a hand ?  ’

Patrick had indeed noticed the oncoming pedestrian accompanied by a dog, in which her urged himself to work a little faster to get out of their way, but the woman approached all while he had began to quickly repack his things. Looking up as she spoke, Patrick shook his head and stood to his feet. “I think I have it, thank you though, ” he told her, glancing back at the large dog behind her with an unmistakable smile on his face. “You look like you have your hands full anyways. S’it safe to pet ‘em?”

“Ouch,” slipped out along with a soft hint of amusement as a smile played coyly over plump lips. It wasn’t everyday she ran into someone moving in within such a small town. Twirling around on the spot at his mess, she paid no mind to the situation before everything came crashing down, eyeing him curiously for a few seconds before she gave in and took the bait. “I would recommend picking these up. You know, unless you want someone to run over them,” came instructed while she padded around the objects, offering the other a small smile as she grabbed a few of his belongings of the floor.

The sound of another voice brought Patrick’s attention from cleaning up the mess at hand, glancing up to see who the source was. He couldn’t help but do a double take as the woman spoke and he slowly shook his head. In that briefest of seconds, something about her struck him. Whether it was her natural beauty or her obvious sarcasm, Patrick was amused by the situation. “You are absolutely right,” he agreed while he absently tossed his belongings in the box that was now slightly warped. “I dunno what I would have done without that bit of advice. You really saved me here.”

Portia was wandering the streets of a neighborhood; not particularly hers and in truth; they all looked the same. Everything in America was so compacted, towns were so close together and neighborhoods, well there was nothing like this back in Ireland. Suburbia was what they called it here, where families with two kids named John and Jane and the family dog resided without much thought to the world around them. Lost in their own little corner of the world, perfectly content with the ignorance that engulfed them. Her surroundings were foreign and unless one lived in apartment buildings or a big city, Ireland was still famous for it’s 18th-century appeal. Still, Portia wasn’t complaining, she had lived in New York City for a time before this, so she knew the meaning of “small”. Glancing around, Portia was just minding her own business whilst listening to something on her iPod when she came upon a… mixer? Blender? Something of that sorts. Picking it up, the woman went with her first instinct, that it belonged to the man picking up a box of his belongings off the pavement. “Oh sorry, I think you dropped… this?” She asked, her eyebrows furrowing in confusion. What it was exactly she wasn’t sure. Perhaps some elaborate kitchen gadget she had never heard of. 

Patrick had planned on getting his entire move done in one day. The man hadn’t traveled with many belongings, so he had gotten into a good routine of things to the point where the place would feel like home by sunset. Of course, dropping an entire box of his belongings threw a wrench in that plan. He was occupied while gathering his things, he didn’t realize that someone had stopped to help until she spoke. Immediately standing to his feet, he smiled at the woman and took the handheld mixer with a small sigh. “Thank you,” he offered her a laugh before he tossed it on top of the clothes that piled in the broken box. “Not every day that my kitchen appliances end up in the road, that’s for sure.”

          gabriella had just walked out of the house and was leaning against his truck, waiting for patrick. somehow he had convinced her to come out and help him move him into his new place. maybe she just wanted to see patrick. there were few people who kept her tame or grounded, and he managed to do both while continuing to be a good influence on her no matter what shenanigans she threw his way. once she watched the bottom of the last box give out she bit her lip, trying to hold back her laughter. “i’m not laughing.. i swear.” a playful grin was beginning to tug at the corners of her lips. gabriella walked over and began helping him pick up the last of his things. “oooooo, what’s THIS?” she turned a shirt around, reading the goofy saying on the front then showing it to patrick. “this is stylish! you should wear this more often.” she teased.

Patrick had only been in town for a week, so it didn’t come easily finding someone willing to help him move without really knowing many people here. Gabriella was beginning to prove herself as an exception and although it hadn’t been that long, she was the first person he thought of when recruiting help. “You’re a shit liar, you know that?” he huffed as he glanced back up at the girl, an amused smirk gracing his features anyways. He shoved a few more things back in the box as Gabriella helped him out, “It was a gift, alright? It’s never seen anything but the bottom of the dresser drawer,” Laughing along with her, he playfully snatched the article from the girl and tossed it in the box.

“Do you think it’s possible to reach Dumbledore levels of cool – i mean you can be cool right but can one ever really be that cool?” kai mused as he perched himself in his seat. “i mean…Dumbledore man.”

"Absolutely not,” Patrick replied with a quick shake of his head. “I can’t say I’ve ever witnessed someone remotely as cool as Dumbledore, that man is untouchable,” he chuckled before bringing his glass to his lips once more, tossing back the rest of the brown liquid he had been working on for the last few minutes while deep in conversation with the other man about Harry Potter characters.

so patrick is your typical southern gentlemen born and raised in alabama by his single father

he has 3 younger sisters ages 28, 22, and 19 and he is v v protective over them knowing that his dad couldn’t handle the whole bunch of them on his own

he’s super annoying and always has to be the hero what a tool amiright

no but really he was in the army for 6 years, from 18 to 24 and deployed several times but thankfully came back safe everytime but it definitely effected him mentally

and since then he’s been caring for his dad and the farm he was raised on bc his dad ended up sick and he wanted his sisters to go on with their lives and do great things so he said he had it all under control

his dad recently passed and it was a bit of a mess so he ended up leaving for a breather for a bit bc he had seen a lot go on with his dad who was the person he looked up to the most

his sisters are all sharing their family farm and living off of it and he’s basically given up on keeping the crops going and everything bc business hadn’t been going well anyways

but so now here he is without rlly any direction and his clock is ticking so now it’s onto the next thing that needs ‘fixed’ that patrick can invest himself in

that’s all i can think of for now so if anyone wants to know more or wants to plot pls lets do it!!

After having been stuck bunking in a hotel for the past week, Patrick was relieved to get the keys to his new place. He had the few boxes that he’d traveled with placed strategically in the bed of his pickup truck and had spent his evening unloading and unpacking as he went. It had come down to the last box and as he pulled it from the truck, the bottom gave out and his belongings quickly littered his driveway. With a groan, the man dropped the now empty box on the ground and knelt to gather his things. “I knew this whole thing went a little too smoothly,” the man spoke aloud, mainly to himself to make light of the situation as he tossed a few articles of clothing back into the box quickly to get him closer to finishing the job.
