“okay, okay that one maybe. it was a total cheap shot but i had to go for it, cap!! i had to make sure it was effective.” clint gasped when the pillow was caught and thrown back at him. “that hurt. that hurt deeply, really. i think you’d be protestin’ the arrows if i had used them on ya’ right now.”
“i’m gonna have to warn you that it wasn’t. still standing, aren’t i?” he laughed once more, hands resting on his hips for a brief moment. “it did? so you can walk off punches but a pillow is too much for hawkeye? -- mmh, i could’ve dodged.”

she continued to stare at him, his smile wanting to bring out one of her own but she couldn’t. wanda couldn’t do that just yet. ah, yes. there was the father-like nature she had been thinking about earlier. trying to come off seemingly helpful but not really helping at all. “…i appreciate this. thank you.”
the smile remained across his face for a little longer, hands disappearing into the pockets of his jeans, weight shifting from one leg to the other. “anytime. this is about your brother, then, or. . .??”
“I guess so.”
“Thanks. Doing okay?”

clint grinned innocently, whacking steve again with the pillow for good measure. “huh?? oh, this?? just seeing how well a pillow will do as a weapon. making a change to the bow and arrows.”
“hey, now i’m certain that one was totally uncalled for. you haven’t done enough testing yet, huh?” he rolled his eyes, catching the pillow before clint could even think about pulling it back for another round, only to toss it at his chest as payback. “i liked the arrows better.”
do good, she thinks. wanda immediately begins to regain composure. she has been trying to do good. actual good and not just thinking they’re doing good while really doing the exact opposite. she respected the captain, he was someone she didn’t mind actually being close with and maybe even calling a friend. “you’re right,” she reluctantly agrees. “it does not help, no. but what will?”
he relaxes as soon as she begins to come into herself once again, a kindly smile settling across his lips for a moment. “that’s a very good question. one that i don’t know the answer too; it’s one of those things you have to figure out for yourself.” the smile returns again, brightening steve’s features - to reassure her. “but you’ll figure it out.”
being a relatively curious ( but more likely nosy ) person, diaspro inched aside just a little to catch a better look at the sketch of the other. yet before their eyes met, she could rip her attention back upwards towards the tall male, the smile returning instantly to her features. “oh, that’s not possible. well, yes. besides the fact that i’m utterly confused as to where i am..”
naturally, her inching to get a look at the sketch did not go unnoticed; though steve wasn’t ashamed or embarrassed by any drawings, they were still a little personal. not personal enough to snatch them from her view, of course. “you’re in stonefield, a town in england.”

“i’m still kind of CONFLICTED about being back. can’t be long until things go sour around here again,” she slipped a jacket on, over her hoodie, “i still haven’t eaten, yet. want something?”
“it seems to be a kind of recurring theme around here, huh? things going sour. maybe we’ll have a break though. for a bit.” he chuckled lightly, weight shifting. “uh, yeah, sure. i’ll have whatever you’re having. not fussy.”

“I think there’s room enough for two in here, don’t you?”
she immediately stopped out of pure instinct. wanda wanted to believe that she could trust him, that he would be up to be babying her around a little bit. give her a stern lecture like a father would to a daughter. a part of her felt like she needed it but she was also afraid that he would just completely brush her feelings off. keep wanda happy and the people safe. well, she wasn’t having any of that today. “please you say. don’t you worry, i will not hurt the people. just tell them to stay away from me. that is all. you can stop pretending like you care about me now.”
“that’s good to hear.” a pause; he can’t help but wonder what makes her think that he only pretends to care. he cares a lot; about everyone, and everything. it might even be something of a fatal flaw. “who says i’m pretending?” steve questioned, brows furrowing out of concern. “i do care about you. really. just like i care for every other avenger, and everyone else that tries to do good. i’m not going to tell anyone to stay away from me; but i am going to ask you to stop. it’s not helping anything, is it?”
“oh, uhm.. excuuuse me.” mused the blonde, standing on her tip toes as she tapped the unfamiliar person on their shoulder. a sickenly sweet smile curled up her rosy lips
he raised both brows, attention dragging slowly away from the half-finished sketch on the paper to hand. “-- oh, sorry. didn’t even notice you were there. is everything okay?”
