the same darry who carried ponyboy out of the car instead of waking him up cause he knew ponyboy was exhausted from how much time he spent in the church?

the same darry who calls ponyboy “baby” and “honey” when pony’s in need of solace?

the same darry who checks over pony’s math homework despite everything else going on in his life just to ensure that pony’s pulling good grades and understands the source material?

the same darry who broke down sobbing when he saw ponyboy because he missed him so damn much and felt guilty as all hell for hitting ponyboy?

the same darry who literally gave up his dreams in order to care for his brothers just so they weren’t put into a boys home/foster care?

the same darry who’s twenty years old and works two jobs just to ensure he and his brothers have food in their stomachs and warm beds to sleep in?
