( Oh, goodness —                                              now was certainly the time to tell his canine companion                                              to sit & stay. )

                                             ❝ Oh! Sure thing, there’s — down, boy, down — there’s                                              a place not too far from here that’ll probably have it. Need                                              me to go with you? ❞

Paula stepped back a little, though her pet seemed unaffected as it continued to nap. She couldn’t help but smile as the boy tried to handle his dog--she had certainly had similar troubles with pets herself! “I hope it’s not too much trouble, but some company would be lovely.” She smiled at him, glad to have met someone so pleasant.

Paula carried her now sleeping pet cat, frowning somewhat. For her part, Cece slept peacefully  in Paula’s arms, as if she didn’t just spend the morning causing trouble for the little psionic. “Gosh...now, let’s see if we can find you lunch, alright, Cece?” Noticing a somewhat familiar-looking boy on the road, she stopped him, asking,

“Excuse me, but do you know where I can buy some cat food?”
