for some reason josie was trying to figure out if this was the same person they were talking to. she was doing her best to remember the name of the female she had met the other day. did she tell her her name? hope sounded slightly familiar but she wasn’t exactly sure? “what is malivore?” she gives a slight shake of her head not understanding what penelope is saying. she smiled feeling her play with her fingers while the two of them talked about what was happening. listening to her talk about what hope did to her to see this alternate universe that she was speaking of. “wait what?” now there was talk about her dad making a school or something and they were all there. for some reason none of this was making sense to her, nor was it coming to her mind. all of this seemed crazy to her. at the mention of them breaking up made josie said. the thought of not having penelope in her life was heartbreaking and knowing they broke up in this other world made her heart drop. “then that world doesn’t exist, because i’m with you here, i love you and i don’t ever want to let you go.”

penelope thought for a moment, how to explain it? she’d only heard talk of it until hope herself confirmed. “basically... a puddle of mud, or darkness? anyone gets thrown in there and they are wiped out from existence.” a lick of her lips as she thought. “she jumped in it but it, sort of, wiped her from her world and threw her in here. it all sounds crazy, i know. i’m still trying to grasp the whole idea.” a shake of her head, and she stilled the motions she had of playing with her girlfriend’s hands, instead interwining them. “i promise i’m not going crazy.” penelope said with a light chuckle. “i know, i know, and i’m here with you. we’re in this together, and we’re going through all this together. i’d never leave you.” whether that world existed or not. “i just think, whatever that was-- don’t you think it’s something amazing that we still find our way to each other?”

josie was curious as to what penelope was talking about, or why she was asking her about her own opinion on soulmates, or alternate universes. she was captivated by the topic. leaning more forward to hear her, she listens to what she’s saying, about how penelope had met some girl saying that they knew her. as penelope was talking about who she met, this sounded like the girl she too had met, the girl who knew her and lizzie apparently. “wait what was this person’s name? i met someone too, maybe a few days ago or so and she said that she knew me and lizzie? or something about her being away but not actually being away for too long? or not knowing how long she’s been … gone?” she shakes her head before tilting it slightly to the side. “what do you mean she showed you? so there’s this whole other place where you and i met? were we … together? are we together in this other world?”

“hope." then she scoffed slightly amused, “yeah, sounds like her. apparently she jumped into malivore to destroy it and somehow.. ended up here. i adviced against going around telling everyone the same thing--” or that she was a mikaelson for that matter. “but she didn’t seem so worried about anything, so who am i to stop her.” a shrug, she had begun to gently toy with josie’s fingers, an absentminded gesture even if she looked down at their hands, thinking back on what she saw. “she did this thing-- quite trippy might i add, said those were her memories. showed me this school your dad built, we were all there.”  a particular memory with zombies and her looking relieved to have found josie. “she said we had broken up.” she looked up at her and shook her head, despite what she’d said a brief smile on her lips. “but what i saw, that girl’s face. or my face.. loved you so deeply.” adding up, because penlope would compete even against herself. “i suppose i love you a lot more, because i’d be pretty damn stupid to be so in love with you and still be letting you go.”

in this moment josie felt happy, not having to worry about running ( at least not right now anyway) but she was able to enjoy some coffee with the love of her life. the two had been together for two years, and it made josie really happy. she just wanted to stay in this moment forever. not having to worry about triad barging in and ruining their moment. she released a soft sigh from her lips, before feeling penelope taking her hand, a smile resting on her lips as she felt the kiss to her knuckles. the smallest of gestures from penelope always had her heart swelling. taking a sip of her coffee with her free hand, she listened to the other and raised her eyebrow, “soulmates, yeah, but parallel timelines or alternate universes?” she pauses to think for a second, “maybe in my dreams, but that’s about it, because the idea of a different life sounds like a dream i’m willing to switch.” she replies softly, “why? what’s got you thinking about that?”

“that’s what i thought. about different lives.” penelope mentioned, she’d think hope’s initial blabber sounded too good to be true. and even as she’d shown her, it was too good to be true. they were somewhere else where they didn’t have to worry about looking behind their shoulder. “a few days ago, in one of the patrols i had to do. i met this girl, and she went on and on about me knowing her. us knowing her. she sounded crazy honestly.” penelope said with a light chuckle. “but then she showed me. it was real. something fucked up happened and she ended up here, and there’s some kind of alternate universe somewhere, i don’t know it still sounds crazy.” penelope shook her head, she wasn’t getting to the point. “the thing was, she mentioned us. and even there, we met.”

sure the world was screwed with so much going on and having triad on the hunt for them, josie always looked for the good side of things. if this moment counted as one of those moments where it was only her and penelope just existing in the world, she was okay with it. she wanted to stay here the entire time, but just looking at the posters on the wall, she knew they were still being hunted outside of this cafe. fingers slip into the handle of her mug as she looks over at penelope, giving her a slight shrug. “i don’t know, i just can’t imagine my life without you.” she mumbles softly with a soft smile on her lips. the two had been together for two years and still going strong, it made josie not know what it was like not to have penelope around.

penelope just wanted to freeze time. who wouldn’t? she was sitting at a cafe like a normal person, with the girl that she loved, and if she tried hard enough the imaginative red beeping light inside her head that would go off in case there was danger, was gone. there was no running, no fighting, no want for revenge, no want for peace. it was then that penelope reached forward to take josie’s free hand, and brough it up to her lips. “me neither.” she whispered as she kissed her knuckles and brought her hand down, her thumb continue to slowly caress her hand. “do you believe in, i don’t know...” she knew she’d probably sound crazy but since meeting hope, it’d been something she couldn’t shake of. “soulmates?” only a soft chuckle. “or parallel timelines. alternate universes, where things are different.. where people are different, have different lives,”

the  faintest  of  smiles  showed  on  elena’s  features  as  she  turned  her  gaze  to  meet  the  girl.  ❝  yeah,  i  guess  i  could  but  then  what  if  something  happened  ?  i’d  never  forgive  myself  if   my  friends  or  family  were  hurt  or  even  killed  while  i  was  too  busy  drowning  my  sorrows.  ❞

penelope gave only a slow nod. elena had a point, obviously-- but still. “tragedies will happen anyway even if you’re in your five senses.” a shrug. so maybe she was a bit hypocritical, she also wouldn’t forgive herself if something happened. but then again she only worried about one person in general. “why not be a bit more self-indulgent? this whole place is a hell hole, anyway. might as well find a way to make it.. better. don’t you think?”

the  redhead  was  pleased  to  be  in  new  orleans.  she  had  visited  it  once  or  twice  before,  when  she  wasn’t  being  locked  away  in  monasteries  or  treated  like  a  demon  by  her  brother.  she  loved  him  dearly  but  her  issues  were  not  going  to  be  solved  through  his  less  than  helpful  ideas.  the  vampire  sauntered  her  way  through  the  quarter,  sunglasses  covering  her  eyes  as  she  beamed  at  her  surroundings.  ❝  truly,  what  a  beautiful  day.  ❞

penelope wore and exasperated expression as she looked down at her shoulder. a gash on it. vampire. go figure. surely, the vampire was no longer a vampire now as it laid down on the ground, heart next to him. “really?” a sharp exhale, only slightly pained. mixed with an odd mesh of bitterness and amusement as she looked up at the redhead. lips pressing in a tight smile that didn’t reach her eyes. “i hadn’t noticed.”

when their gaze met, josie smiles a little as she bites on her lower lip. she always felt happy around penelope. as if all the troubles around them didn’t exist. of course josie being josie just wants to co exist in the world with regular humans and her kind without any trouble, but that wasn’t the case. she and a few others that were on the posters were wanted for being supernatural. a sight leaves her lips as she looks up to meet penelope’s gaze, “if this mess never happened ? probably i don’t know, going away on vacation with you, doing whatever i wanted without being cautious about my surroundings or being caught my triad.”

if there was one good thing that had come out from all of that, was josie. because while penelope had found a group of people that had an overall similar objective, the other girl had helped her in ways she possibly couldn’t have wondered of.  at the answer, penelope couldn’t help but feel her smile sublty widen, only turning a bit teasing. not at the words themselves, but what they implied. “you think that even without all of this, we still would’ve met?” and penelope wouldn’t lie, it was sweet that josie thought so. it was the details that made the witch’s growing feelings continue doing so.

      “Seems like it.”  Hope just needed to find her place again in the world. In this alternative world she ended up in. Maybe if needed use her powers to protect those she cared for. Even if they dont remember her. “Three penelope’s a nightmare.” She teased. “I don’t know. I came into the city two days ago but been running at night in my wolf form and I just fall asleep.” She laughed at her words. “What can I say?” She smiled as she nodded before closing her eyes and snapping her fingers before opening them. “This is the Salvatore school.” Using her magic she made the illusion. “ The locals think we’re a school for troubled rich kids. The troubles part is true.”  She chuckled. “ We fall asleep in geometry and pass notes in magical history. We throw parties in the woods and crash the local high schools dances. “ Hope slowly took her through the school and especially the lake and the gardens. “ Like so many who came before us, we’re not all good, we’re not all bad, but we are all different whether we like it or not. “

“You’re just saying that to avoid saying it’d be a dream. It’s okay.” Going back at her. Somehow it felt slightly natural. “So nowhere.” A pause, before slowly drawing out. “You could come with me.” Would it be wise to bring her along? Penelope didn’t know, but no one really did know Hope. This wasn’t her world after all. “You can say, and admit you have a soft spot for me. First world me or not.” The witch smirked. Only then staying quiet as Hope created a world around them, eyes slowly scanning over the place she was being shown. It looked like a nice place, polished and fancy. Could see a bunch of teenagers-- witches, vampires and werewolves, just laughing and being together. Looked like something that could have happened, if they hadn’t just being outed into the world. “So we were in our personal Hogwarts. Please, tell me there weren’t houses.” Penelope mildly joked. “Looks like a dream. At least compared to now.” And sure, apparently her self from there had left for Hell knows what, but she had to remind herself she wasn’t her. The circusmtances were greatly different. Her voice lowered to a mumble as she was about to take a drink. “...Sorry you got stuck here.”

     “I dont think it works that way and well I rather not find another universe  if I do jump in. I’d actually like to avoid jumping in again. Being in there…  It was permanent death. And it was in Malivore that we were left to perish.” Hope told her. “Besides i now know two penelope’s. 3 of you would be too much.” She lightly teased. “It’s been about a week or a week and a half. I literally woke up outside of triad industries. No surprise there since that is where the pit is. “ Hope smiled at her remark and nodded. “We kicked zombie ass so you’re on my team. Well, my penelope. “Unicorns are real by the way.” She chuckled. “Sort of… What exactly you want to know?”

“So you’re staying here.” Penelope mentioned in conclusion. Thoughts only toying around on how it could’ve been jumping and staying into nothingness, but she usually didn’t ask as many questions based on feelings. “I know. You wouldn’t be able to handle yourself knowing three of me.” Penelope said in a nonchalant tone. Honestly, the idea of having a counterpart made her head spin. It was strange. Hopefully, they were having a better a situation than she was. “So where are you staying now?” Then, a short snort followed by a subtle smirk. “There you are, claiming me again.” The witch exhaled, “Zombies and unicorns. Nothing should surprise me from there anymore.” A shrug. “I don’t know, anything. Cleary things are very different here and there.”

  “Ha. Ha.” Hope rolled her eyes, giving out a sarcastic laugh before giving some thoughts to what she said. “No… “ She furrowed her eyebrows. “I destroyed it, yes… But I didn’t destroy it here. . “ She had to think it over. “Do you think there’s a connection to the pit there and here? I mean, it’s the only way. Destroy it there and maybe whatever will it had left found itself here.” She sighed. It didn’t matter did it. Looking over penelope hope playfully pushed her a bit. “I dont mean it like that. I mean when it comes to my family. I have you now, dont I? And as much as a bitch you are here and there, I had you then too. Josie too. Lizzie not so much but we got there in the end. “ She smiled. “I dont go around yelling that. Even back there people want me dead so really nothing new. Plus Im a tribrid. I dont go down that easily.”

“I mean, you did jump inside a pit of hell knows what. The only way to actually prove whatever theory, is if you jumped back and pray you get thrown out back in your world. Or you know, find yourself in yet another one.” Just the thought of that was, honestly, amusing in the messiest of ways. “How long you’ve been here anyway? Where did you even wake up?”  Penelope had, honestly stopped questioning the crazy talk at this point. Maybe a mix of the shared memories, alcohol and the simple fact that, as twisted as it all sounded, it probably wasn’t as bad as what happened on a daily basis. “Good to know my charm didn’t exactly change. Didn’t you say we were sort of friends?” Penelope remarked with a short smirk. For a moment, she felt like an old self. The one before they all got targeted. ”Calm down, broody unicorn.” A pause before she pulled back the stool to sit in there, the bottle once againt placed on the bar between them. “Tell me more about your world. No memory swap.”

   “What’s crazy is this alternative reality. With everything that I lived and everything you just said it’s the only explanation. But how the hell could destroying malivore there bring me here.” She needed a drink and she took a bottle she had given her. Chugging down a good amount. She looked at penelope. Her world now. “What the hell am I suppose to do with that? Klaus is my father. There’s no changing that no matter what world it is… I thought I was alone before now im really alone… “

“The alternative, actually, is that you went mad or something.” Penelope stated, mainly to take a dig at her. Sue her. “But there’s always a loophole to magic, right? You jumped in there to destroy it, what if it couldn’t destroy you? Maybe it didn’t want you anymore and spit you out here. Ta-dah.” Her words only being said with a grain or salt, because after all, whatever had happened. Did it matter here? “Alone? That’s how I get paid for hearing your crazy ramblings for the past hour? Wow, thank you”: Penelope dramatically sighed as she snatched the bottle from her, not even taking a drink from it but pointing it in her direction. “So you can do two things. Either you take it, and deal with it. That’s the shitty hand you got dealt now.” They all had some shitty hands at this point. “Or you do something about it.” A pause. “I do advice against going around yelling ‘Hey look at me, I’m Klaus’ daughter. I’m a Mikaelson.’ Unless you want to get yourself killed before you can utter the words ‘daddy.’”

“It was the only way to save the school. To save Josie who was shot with a weaponized malivore tart thing and to prevent malivore from taking it’s true form. It still had it’s properties. I was the key to getting rid of it. The very same three species that created it. I’m a tribrid.” She wasnt sure if the other picked up on it or not with the memory share.  “But it just doesnt make any sense because that would mean that Im in some timeline that im not suppose to be. This wouldnt be exactly my world… “ She trailed off for a moment. “This isnt my timeline. This is like some kind of alternate reality… Okay now I sound crazy ”

Penelope frowned, of course even in whatever fantasy land the other lived, nothing seemed to be alright. The mention of Josie getting hurt even there, made her jaw clench a little. But she had to pull that thought. It hadn’t happened. “This just keeps getting better.” Penelope sighed with a shake of her head, not even beginning to question how the hell the other was a mix of three species. Penelope took a swig of the bottle this time as the other continued her ramblings. “You’re just realizing you sound crazy now. That’s great.” Penelope took Hope’s hand and placed the bottle on her hand. “So listen up, whether that’s true or not. Unless there’s a way to change that, which I highly doubt, this is your world now. And sorry to break it out to you, but what you know? No longer applies.”

“I meant other than myself, smartass,” she said, glancing at the younger girl before rolling her eyes dramatically. She turned to look at her, a bit concerned that anyone else was hanging out in the bayou for no reason. Didn’t seem like the best place for young women to spend their nights at. “I know they do, but I don’t think I would’ve found what I was looking for at a bar. Not that I found it here either. What are you doing here instead of at a bar?”

“You needed to be a bit more specific.” Like with any other person, Penelope merely lifted up a half smug smirk at the other’s expression. “And what exactly would you want to go around finding in this place? It’s been desserted since I got here.” Which wasn’t long, a bit after everyone was outed. “Felt like a change of scenery. bars can get a bit... bloody after a while.”

Damon shudders a little bit at the term, “Just because I’m a good looking, rich, over a hundred year old doesn’t mean I will ever willingly be called something like that at all.” He points out before he gives her a stern look that broke into a smirk. Kid pushed buttons but he knew she meant well enough. “Around, its not like he’s going to be overly accepting of getting his humanity back.” Stefan did a lot of bad shit in the last two years and it was going to be painful having to face it all, even more so since it was…well Stefan. He looks back at her, “As if you could drag me anywhere knocked out, I’m a lean guy.” But he had to give her credit, “So you want a field trip hmm?”

Penelope lightly raised her hands as if that was supposed to make her look innocent of anything. “I’m pretty sure you’re already being called that. Remember that blonde that got in like two weeks ago?” Now, if she was only messing around or not... That’d be up to him to figure out. “And how exactly do you plan on making your fang happy and very Mikaelson infused brother go back to the broody vamp you and Elena talk about?” Humanity-- Such an interesting thing, really. Some people seemed to forget about it, and vampires having a mood button somewhere was like playing with a loaded gun. She knew Damon was in for a heavy task, and that he was aware of that. “Hm, I don’t if you’ve hear about it but there’s this little thing called--” Her voice dropped to a hush. “Magic.” Surely, the thought of dragging an unconscious Damon was a little laughable. “Only if you lead the way, Mrs. Frizzle. Promise not to sing row row row my boat.”

being with penelope made josie feel way better. she isn’t sure if she could survive this without her. a smile sits on her lips as she keeps her gaze on penelope. whenever they were to go out, they would always keep an eye out around their surroundings. in josie’s opinion, she just wants to live in a world where supernaturals and humans can co exist together and just live peacefully. unfortunately, that’s not the case. she has to always watch her back and to be careful every time she were to go out, even without penelope. “we did, kind of upset that we did.” she mumbles softly, reaching to grab her glass of water and took a quick sip. it sucked they had to live this way now, a way where they are getting tracked down by triad, but also trying to live life without having to worry about getting killed or just by getting caught by triad.

eyes drift away from the surroundings meeting josie’s, a soft smile being pulled on her face. a genuine one at best, compared to the usual cold expression she now wore. around josie, she melted. penelope was aware their objectives were quite different. whereas josie wanted to go back to how things used to be. penelope wanted revenge. “what would you be doing now? if this mess had never happened.” all of it wishful thinking, of course. but penelope liked to entertain the idea at times. of the life they once knew.

          “Sorry for forcing it on you.” She knew sharing memories could be a bit much. Especially when pulling someone into their heads. She lightly smiled as she nodded. Glad to at least have someone to believe her. “Okay. I need to figure things out because… Everything is confusing. My father is suppose to be dead. I saw damon and he’s suppose to be human. I need to figure out why things are the way they are. The last thing I did was ask alaric to burn all my things before jumping into malivore.” She told her.

Penelope waved a hand as a response, resting back against the bar as she listened to the other. Trying to make sense of what the other was saying, of what she’d been showed. “A father Klaus, and human Damon. Sounds like a crazy world.” Of course not as chaotic as the one they currently were. “And why would you do something stupid like that?” Refering to both jumping into Malivore herself and the destruction on anything tracing back to her. “I think we’ve gone over that. Things aren’t how you say they’re supposed to be. Klaus Mikaelson never had a daughter, none of them did.” A shrug and a less than amused scoff as she mumbled. “Maybe if he had, he wouldn’t have been so bored as to involve everyone in his affairs.” How would an undead be able to bore any children? That was a question for another time, or not. Penelope didn’t even want to think of those implications now.
