his words didn’t stop sam from narrowing her eyes at him. humans weren’t to be trust. nobody ever held concern for another living being when it was life or death. “i don’t need your pitty.” she mouthed back, voice raising. her hands shifted slightly on her gun. she wouldn’t use it, not even if they attacked her. it was too loud. // @valiantruby​

this safe zone. sam always found her way here when she wandered. she had been here a few times before, never really for long and never really wanted to. she felt the corners of her lips move up in an attempt to seem friendly. she recognized the face. “sorry.” she called up towards them. “just passing by. i don’t want any trouble.” // @chrismaddox

sam took a deep breath, quickening her pace as she walked towards the familiar face in defeat. she didn’t want to work with him. they didn’t fucking get along but she couldn’t do anything alone anymore. not anything like this. slowly raising her hands, sam shook her knife in the air before throwing it at the ground. “i need a favor from you and i know you don’t like me, but please.” // @im-living-on-a-prayer

being showed around the safe zone was something sam didn’t seem to understand. they had just let this wandering stranger into their walls, let her walk around, granted she was being followed, but still. she wandered from building to building, the guard with her explaining things as they went. he told her this one, was a school. they had children running around this place?? she questioned to herself as they went inside. the blonde teacher caught her attention as she offered a forced smile towards her. // @theodaisy

sam gripped tightly to her knife handle. she had left her small camp for maybe twenty minutes. thirty max. she had like no sense of time at this point but to find somebody near her things when she got back, it was a bother. she had left both of her guns, her bag, and her first aid kit. taking a deep breath, the redhead took a step closer. “if i were you, i’d take a step fuckin back.” // @erasedmasterpiece

“stay back.” sam spoke to the other. she was tired, hungry, and just really not in the mood to deal with living humans right at this moment. if she was able to, she would have taken a chance to shut the world out. but there was no chance she could anymore. her hand gripped tightly as her face twisted with anger. “i said stay back.” she couldn’t run, her leg was hurting more than normal today. she just had to stand her ground. // @valiantruby

Chris smiled at the friendly face. The male wondered how much people have changed since it all began. He noticed some change in him. “Yeah, that’s a good one too.” But Chris never got much sleep even before the outbreak. Twenty-two years of service prepared him for anything. “I’d give anything for some rum.”

out of all the things from before, she really did miss a comfy bed and being able to keep her eyes shut for longer than a few moments. sam turned, casting a glance up towards them, letting a small laugh left her lips. “i’m sure there is some somewhere in the world.” she shrugged. god, she missed the taste of good alcohol.

“Listen asshole, I am not in a good mood so you better show yourself,” Ace called out as his eyes darted around, hoping to see this hidden person before they got the drop on him. He is not going to let himself be killed by someone. Not when his daughter is still out there. There was a nagging in the back of Ace’s head that he was being followed, but he fought against it. Paranoia is good, but there is no way that he wouldn’t have noticed someone following him before now. // @pcrdita​

at this point sam knew she had two options; get killed by him or get chased for however long until he catches her. there was no doubt she would get caught, her leg was still causing her issues. with a defeated sigh, sam pushed her hands up in the air. “sorry alex.” she muttered before taking a step around the tree. “i’m not an asshole.” her hoarse voice called out, causing her throat to hurt. / @im-living-on-a-prayer​

“To be truthful I miss Mexican food,” Chris replied. It’s been awhile since Chris had good Mexican food. He rubbed his stomach. “I can’t remeber the last time I was full.” Talking about old time ws how Chris made it through the day. “Wha about you? What do you miss the most?”

sam nodded her head. she did really miss having food that was more than just something that she was able to find nowadays. what she wouldn’t do for a burger or even some fries. “probably sleeping through the night.” she spoke out, her voice soft. she wasn’t typically a talky type of person.

Ace was panting as he had been walking for a long while now. His water bottle has run out and he hasn’t seen a stream in a while. Looking to the sky, it didn’t seem like rain would be happening soon. Ace cussed under his breath as he leaned against a tree and pulled out the beaded necklace from beneath his shirt. He clenched it tightly as he remembered how it was a father’s day gift from his daughter, who he still hasn’t found any clues of where the group that took her went.

Ace was suddenly snapped out of his vengeful thoughts as he heard twigs snap as well as leaves rustling. Someone was closeby. Ace stood up and pulled his knife out of the sheath that he found in a sporting goods store a good few weeks ago. He bit the inside of his mouth as he waited to see who this person is. 

sam groaned as she took a set back. she was supposed to be fucking careful and yet she wasn’t. the one fucking time she was supposed to be on a stealth mission. what else was she supposed to do?? he was sure to find her if she even moved just a little. the only way she could go was back and there was no going back that way. 

quickly, sam turned and took a few steps forward. the redhead quickly ducked behind a tree, pressing her back into the hard bark. “fuck.” she muttered, not wanted to be spotted. why did this always happen to her?? she didn’t deserve to be the one always caught up in situations like this one. / @im-living-on-a-prayer​

Ace let out a tired sigh as he rubbed his face. It was thankfully quiet. Thankfully? No, quiet is bad. It’s dangerous. The sounds of zombies lets Ace know that trouble is near. Silence makes it feel like an ambush is near. He just shook his head before stopping as he heard movement. He looked around, not seeing anyone. He slipped his knife out of its sheath as he remained on defense mode.

“Look, if you’re planning on stealing from me then I’ll kill you. Otherwise, you don’t fuck with me and I won’t fuck with you. Got it?” Ace called out, loud enough to be heard but not too loud to alert any dead that might be in the area. // @pcrdita

“fuck.” sam muttered under her breath as she pressed herself against the tree. there was little to nothing she could do to get away. they trees weren’t thick enough and if they had a gun, boy was she going down. her hand reaching down to place against her folding knife. 

with her leg, she couldn’t run away, so with a sigh, she raised her hands before taking a step around the tree. “i’m not here to steal.” she spoke out, her voice soft. sam hadn’t had to use it in a while, being alone. she didn’t want to tell him she had a group, that would be horrible when they found out she was lying. “i’m just trying to pass through.” / @im-living-on-a-prayer​

sam stopped walking, the normal path she traveled every day back to camp was blocked. someone was standing in her way. someone alive. she took a deep breath before quickly moving to keep out of their view. what was she going to do to keep herself hidden?? the trees weren’t thick enough to hide her the whole way through. she had to think fast but clearly, her brain wasn’t fast enough.
