For many, walking through the gates and onto campus at Monarch University feels normal and ordinary; it’s like any other New English school. The historic buildings and grounds are rich with stories and gothic atmosphere. Students are exemplary, mainly in the history and science programs that are the pride of Monarch. Faculty is knowledgeable far beyond what they discuss in lecture. Yet underneath the normalcy is an unsettling feeling of anticipation, like everyone is waiting for something to surface.
