"You're staring again," his sire scolds gently from across from him, looking at his fledgling with a look in his eyes. Chanyeol turns his bright hazel eyes from the window, staring back at his master with a sheepish smile.Â
"I'm sorry, sir," he replies, the dialect of the area falling from his lips perfectly. "I can't help it. He's beautiful. I haven't seen someone like him in so long." His heart longs to join the boy outside their manor, and his sire smiles as their bond is filled with Chanyeol's bright emotions. His sire shook his head with a chuckle, reaching over to ruffle Chanyeol's hair with fondness.Â
"You have lived for many centuries already and seen beautiful men and women. What makes this boy so different?"
"I don't know," he says truthfully, his gaze returning to the boy working at the stables. "He looks sweet."Â
Minseok is nervous again, blushing hard, fingers working at the hem of his shirt as Chanyeol grins from above him. Stuttered confessions are whispered that night with only the moon as witness, and Chanyeol finally feels alive once again after five hundred years.Â
"Be mine," Chanyeol says with a heat in his words, gripping the others arms. "Live a long, long happy life with me. Let me," he murmurs, leaning in towards Minseok's neck with extended fangs, the man pliant in his arms, "make you mine forever."Â
Chanyeol screams, the sound piercing as he feels something being ripped apart from his very soul, red eyes wide as they stare at the falling figure of his lover. The body doesn't even make it to the ground, a final smile headed his way as Minseok withers to dust right before his eyes and his ashes are carried away by the night wind.Â
The vampire hunters manage to run away for only seconds before they're attacked by the frantic, raging vampire. Chanyeol is blinded by anger and grief, and that night, he leaves a bloodshed behind in his wake. Â
Chanyeol pulls away with a gasp, releasing a heavy pant as every detail of his life begins to intertwine and finally connect in his head. A lost time in his life is filled with memories of a love that had tainted every aspect of his being, a man that had breathed life into him, ripped apart from his arms by hunters that hated their very kind.Â
 Minseok. Minseok. Minseok.Â
Chanyeol twists the man in his arms with wide, red eyes, unable to even believe it. His heart thuds in his chest, and it's him, it's Minseok. But it's not. His frenzy is broken by the soft fear filled words, and Chanyeol gasps once more, taking the man in his arms in a crushing hug.
"It's you," he breathes out, tongue making work of the bite he had laid upon his lover. No, human. Chanyeol swallows and his heart can't help yearning to believe the unthinkable, watches the way the two small wounds close up and the blood beings to dry over the pale skin. "It's you. It's you."
Chanyeol's grip slowly loosens, pulling back to gaze at the other's face. Chanyeol cups Minseok's cheek, staring at him with tenderness in his eyes. "My love, I'm sorry, I scared you. Are you alright? It's been so long. I'm sorry. I'm so happy...It's you. It's you. You're back with me, everything will be alright, I promise."
Chanyeol picks the boy up in his arms delicately, carefully carrying him over to the bed in the room. They're at his home, more specifically, at his room, and Chanyeol lays Minseok down over the soft, silk sheets with gentle fingers. "I didn't mean to scare you," he murmurs, holding unto Minseok's hands, letting their fingers lace together. He brings the smaller man's hand up to his lips, kissing each knuckle at the back of his hand. "I thought I had lost you forever."Â
