Consider that you can see less than 1% of the electromagnetic spectrum and hear less than 1% of the acoustic spectrum. As you read this, you are traveling at 220 km/sec across the galaxy. 90% of the cells in your body carry their own microbial DNA and are not “you.” The atoms in your body are 99.9999999999999999% empty space and none of them are the ones you were born with, but they all originated in the belly of a star. Human beings have 46 chromosomes, 2 less than the common potato. The existence of the rainbow depends on the conical photoreceptors in your eyes; to animals without cones, the rainbow does not exist. So you don’t just look at a rainbow, you create it. This is pretty amazing, especially considering that all the beautiful colors you see represent less than 1% of the electromagnetic spectrum.

EXO - My Lady (Chinese ver.)
Exo's full album is released today, and I have been waiting for this song since their first teaser back in 2011. Be prepared for a mental breakdown in the following months thank you
Find meaning. Distinguish melancholy from sadness. Go out for a walk. It doesn’t have to be a romantic walk in the park, spring at its most spectacular moment, flowers and smells and outstanding poetical imagery smoothly transferring you into another world. It doesn’t have to be a walk during which you’ll have multiple life epiphanies and discover meanings no other brain ever managed to encounter. Do not be afraid of spending quality time by yourself. Find meaning or don’t find meaning but “steal” some time and give it freely and exclusively to your own self. Opt for privacy and solitude. That doesn’t make you antisocial or cause you to reject the rest of the world. But you need to breathe. And you need to be.
Albert Camus, from Notebooks, 1951-1959 (via colporteur)
It might have been the most expensive 'walk in the park' I've ever taken, but thank you, Kyoto.
Gradually baobabs overtook The Little Prince's planet and turned it into a Jurassic Park.
#AFCC : before you get to your targeted readers, you have to face the editors and publishers. They know what the market reads more than you do. But it doesn't mean that you should drop your stand and follow their directions; go out and learn the voices of your audience so you can incorporate it into your own. Don't focus too much on the techniques, but exhale life into the lines. Be seamless with the readers, yet reward them with a world that they could explore.
#AFCC Day 2: a lot more corporate technical stuff going on today. Got to know the operations behind publishing. Three important points that I learned about today: 1) stories set in Asia can work but needs to have a bridge to connect international (western) readers 2) define your own YA approach: is it for the audience to relate to the character's age or is it the thrmese explored? 3) met 2 poets who are now traveling as educators, Sara Holbrook and Michael Salinger!
For the week.

As I look back on my life, I realize that every time I thought I was being rejected from something good, I was actually being re-directed to something better.

First was Blur's really magical set, now coming back to news of EXO coming out with a full-length album after a year. Calm down, fangirl. Calm down.
Blur's the best show I've ever been to. Tender was just surreal. Want to relive it again pleaseeee
