I sincerely hope Kohei Horikoshi never writes/makes a bullied character ever again. Some fans who are bullied victims are still confused, others are offended, and a large portion of this fandom don't care and brush off the bullying so much that whenever the topic is brought up they claim they don't remember or it never happened.
No, I don't want the victim to hate his bully but let him have a backbone. Let him be upset about what he went through. Let him break out of that unhealthy admiration for his bully. Let him have some self love and respect. And since the bullying was watered down so much, people who complain usually get comments like this-
"Still on Season 1 I see" Nope, the bullying is still happening its just a joke now.
"Your projecting" yeah maybe but, don't you guys do the same with the bully character? Some of you "kin" him correct? So what's the difference? Plus who wants to see a character that they love get bullied for simply existing?
"He apologized" it really is sad that a majority of this fandom thought that apology was actually good. The apology seemed to only happen because it was just another task to check off the redemption list. Funny how this moment was considered huge and the victim didn't say anything or even thought about it.
Seriously, why make two characters who are supposed to hate bullies become buddy buddy with a bully? Why have bullying happen if the victim isn't allowed to think about it or get upset by it? Its clear the bullying affected him but, he's not allowed to do anything.
You claim these two are childhood friends but, the only moment that ever gets brought up is them getting the same card. And even that moment gets shattered because in one of the spin offs, an official spin off that Horikoshi himself probably had to read and approve, we find out that one of those cards got ripped up. And I think we all know who's card it was. I know the spin offs aren't cannon to the actual story but, I guess this part was considering we never see the mc with his card. And he's the bigger AM fan among the two.
Even in adulthood their relationship still doesn't seem good. That iron suit seemed more for the blonde's benefit. He was dropping in the rankings and then we see he jumped up when his rival became a hero again. If he needs a rival in order to take his job seriously than he shouldn't even be a hero. As for the sidekick offer, I truly think there's another reason why it was rejected and it has nothing to do with that teaching job.
