🛏️ home is where the bodies are – review
3.5 ⭐
this was a stay in bed til noon, read 40 pages, eat a snack, read 40 more kind of book. not heart-pounding, but soft and eerie in the best way.
• cozy murder, if that’s a thing (and it is now)
• classic Jeneva Rose: just when i think i’ve figured it out… surprise 🙃
• not a “gasp and clutch pearls” read, but a “curl up and vibe with the dead” one
• loved the sibling dynamic, loved the secrets, loved being in my little blanket cocoon
• chores were ignored. regrets were not had.
💡✨ Lights Out by Jodie Slaughter – ★★★★☆ (well… like 3.5 but we round up for masked men)
okay sooo. I didn’t inhale this one like I thought I would, but I did enjoy the ride. the hacker? the mask? the touch-me-not tension?? chef’s kiss.
the ending leaned a little too romantic for me—I was lowkey hoping for something more dark & twisty (maybe I need therapy lol)
that being said, I liked the pacing, loved the premise, and I’ll def be picking up book 2.
⚠️ content warnings for grief, murder, and a whole lot of emotional repression 🖤
overall: a solid read for when you want danger, lust, and a man who could probably dismantle the government but just wants to kiss your throat.
someone gotta fuck this bad mood outta me
📖 currently reading: lights out
just started lights out and i can already tell my mental health is not going to survive this.
send thoughts, prayers, and maybe a glass of wine 🥲🍷
i fear i’m about to be emotionally destroyed… and a little turned on
Having kinky sex is great but having them fall asleep with their head on your chest, curled up in your arms while you run your fingers through their hair is something else entirely.
🖤 there are no saints – review
this book made me feel like i needed to shower and read five fluff novellas to recover.
• cole is not a man. he is a walking red flag wrapped in gallery lighting
• not morally gray. just morally GONE.
• i tabbed half the book and questioned my sanity the whole time
• spice? unholy
• plot? obsessed.
• also i read the tattoo scene while getting a tattoo irl and honestly? spiritually illegal
📚 4.5 stars
🌶️ spice: 4/5 (soft dom chaos and pain-as-foreplay vibes)
🧠 braincell count: negative
🖤 praise – review
this book looked me in the eye and said “good girl.” and i haven’t recovered.
• praise kink. age gap. ex’s dad. EMOTIONAL SUPPORT BLOWJOBS.
• daddy dom but like… healthy???
• if you’ve ever wanted to be gently ruined while being emotionally validated, this is for you
• i annotated entire chapters like “yes. destroy me respectfully.”
• he literally buys her a desk. for reasons.
📚 4.5 stars
🌶️ spice: 5/5 — full submission fantasy, soft dom perfection
💬 favorite line: “you don’t even realize how easy it is to want you.”
⚖️ the perfect marriage + the perfect divorce – review
two books. zero trust in men. incredible time had by all.
• everyone’s lying. everyone’s hot. i don’t know who to root for and i like it that way
• the pacing?? unhinged. i read them both like i was late for court
• twist after twist like a toxic ex texting “u up?”
• and the second book?? that ending?? i gasped. then nodded like “yes, queen. burn it all down.”
• this series said “what if girlbossing was a felony?”
📚 4 stars
🌶️ spice: 2/5 — not the focus, but the vibes were messy in the best way
💔 favorite moment: when i realized i trusted no one and still didn’t care
🐉 fourth wing + iron flame – review
these books didn’t just give me dragons—they gave me abandonment issues, emotional trauma, and a slow burn so hot i’m still sweating.
• violet is everything. xaden is everything. i am nothing.
• tabs? everywhere. emotions? in shambles.
• fourth wing broke me. iron flame rebuilt me and then set me on fire again.
• the angst?? the found family?? the ✨knife-to-throat tenderness✨??
• i would die for andrás. still not over it.
📚 5 stars (collectively)
🌶️ spice: 3.5/5 — lots of tension, some very delicious scenes
💥 most screamed-at quote: “you’re not breathing for me. you’re breathing for you.”
✨ would join the rebellion immediately. even with asthma.
