(Okay, so i was going through my old writing drafts and came across a bunch of unfinished pieces. This one in particular looks about done so i figured eh why not post it. I donât think I wrote this with Tsuburaba x Tsuyu in mind, possibly BakuTsuyu or KiriTsuyu but oh well. It works well as a prompt too lol)
She truly didnât know what went on on Kosei Tsuburabaâs head that early winter morningâ was it the prickly change of weather that somehow mightâve loosen a few screws here and there, nor was it the sheer blanket of snow forming outside campus that shifted the season out of nowhere â but confessing to her during lunch whilst every living being was still in the classroom shouldnât have been the outcome.Â
Tsuyu Asui croaked a gasp in her throat. The brunette boy from next class was perched before her, face flushed to the brim. His beady pupils dilated and shook tremors as sweat trickled swiftly from every inch. Messy wouldnât even be close to describe his state at the moment. âA-Asui...? Did you hear? I said I likeâ â
She cut him off short. Sparing the embarrassment on his part. And subsequently, hers.
âYes. I heard you, Tsuburaba-chan,â At that another pang of an even darker shade of crimson washed over his cheeks. Kosei buzzed in response; a nervous hand ran through his neck. It seemed that all he had to do then was wait. Agonizingly and painfully wait. Unbeknownst to him, the girl was as equally suffering.
Tsuyu really didnât know how to go about this. Who would? What had he expected her to do anyway? The boy probably had imagined the scene to play out like in one of those shoujo mangas; two hands clasped together as they saunter away. She stuck to her usual blank stare, careful not to let her emotions burst out freely in fear of making the situation at hand worse. Everyone was watching â better yet, gapping at this once-in-a-lifetime scene before their eyes. Their class frog wasnât as unpopular as she thought she was! The glee was so ladened in the air, she could practically sense it on her fingertips. Tsuyu felt her friendsâ gaze stabbing her back everywhere and she might have lost her mind a little then because she swore, she had heard their prodding thoughts too.
âWay to go, Tsu-chan!â
âAmazing! Tsuburaba-kun confessing his amorous feelings to Asui-kun before the eyes of others? What a romantic!â
âRight, Iida-kun? Not caring what people might judge you for and striving for love, so wholesome and chivalrous!â
Tsuyu took that last part back. Iida and Ochako were never the ones to keep their mouths physically shut.Â
A plethora of questions floated through her mind within the second, all that mattered of course.
First of all, why here? Honestly, they might not know each other well but even she had assumed Tsuburaba to be the more reasonable one out of any bunch. Actually, anyone wouldâve thought to not confess in broad daylight where dozens of people are boring their eyes and ears onto you. Itâs not even a matter of personality at this point, simple common sense is what it is!
And secondly (more importantly!), why her?
