genuinely devastating to watch this in retrospect. they didn't know then .....

there are a lot of dramatic ironies here (also in relation to jessie and s4 to s5) but there's something particular in tommy's belief about 'doing more damage from the inside' leading, after being pulled into the innermost circle, to mosley's conspiracy to get tommy to kill himself by making him believe he has a brain tumor (!) that is also a result of a disease spread through the family (all while mosley has done such things as trying to isolate tommy from his family, including things like recruiting arthur ...)
