A collaborative free PMK zine! Organised by me, with art by biscuitstickery, nekkyousagi, purrahms, crossexamisan, sugarforkfull and myself.

I love that you make it sound like a guilty pleasure/scandalous request haha!

I also wanna see that, might doodle some Soujis later and post them but I’d be very happy to see some other people also try their hands at it 👀

This is the result of two very welcome study breaks. With different art styles, there’s only so far you can stray away from the original design before the character is unrecognisable, so I included the parted fringe and hime cut-like side strands in most styles. Some notes:

Just the regular hair with a bandana, sort of my warm-up sketch and kinda wonky

Hairstyle for the visual kei AU of my dreams, inspired by Hizaki, best known for being the guitarist of Versailles

Just cute buns. The expression has nothing to do with the hairstyle, I just wanted him to pout

Hi! Do you happen to know which Le Cinq issue the script for Man of Starlight is in or if it’s available anywhere else? I can’t seem to find any trace…! Thanks for your time and all your work on the shows btw!

Hello!

Man of Starlight, since first being produced in the 70s, has only been performed regionally, so there are either no Le Cinqs, or only special edition Le Cinqs (which don’t contain a script). However, the script would be available in the original program or in one of the Shibata Yukihiro script anthologies (I don’t recall which one, unfortunately. It might have been 3? But please don’t trust that ^^;;;;). These things can both be a little hard to track down on online marketplaces, but you might have more luck with Taka-An, either on the ground or through their website.

LET’S FIND KASHUU KIYOMITSU! 行きましょう !

Kashuu Kiyomitsu was a swordsmith from Kaga domain. During the 17th century, times were relatively peaceful and there wasn’t much demand for swords. He lived in a burakumin neighborhood along the Saigawa where he was known as ”Beggar Kiyomitsu.” Still, his work was favored by the daimyo and they allowed him to keep the Kiyomitsu name and use the plum crest of the Maeda clan. His most famous sword is probably Kashuu Kiyomitsu, the sword of Okita Souji which was popularized by Touken Ranbu.

In 1967, a professor at Kanazawa College of Art produced a monument to Kashuu Kiyomitsu. The monument is in the general area of where Kashuu Kiyomitsu lived.

“Kashuu” is another name for “Kaga” and Kaga domain makes up what is now modern day Ishikawa prefecture. The neighborhood Kiyomitsu lived in is what is now Kanazawa City.

With this in mind, I went looking for Kashuu Kiyomitsu!
