An adorable interview between future top stars and classmates Otozuki Kei and Hokushou Kairi, very early in their careers.
A long interview and Q&A feature from around the time of Chinatsu's debut show, Golden Liberty/Phoenix Rising.
Nozomi Fuuto talks about notable shows in her early career, including her turn as Lucheni in Elisabeth (originally published in April 2015 Kageki).
In which Nanami Hiroki gives an update about Cosmos Troupe's Winter 2013 shows, Ace Attorney 3: Miles Edgeworth and Legend of the Galactic Heroes @ Hakataza (but mainly gushes about Ouki Kaname).
Rei Makoto special recap
In commemoration of Rei Makoto's retirement, here are some features with her that I've especially enjoyed over the years <3
(2017 is over-represented because for a while those were the only magazines I had and also because I was obsessed with Chauvelin.)
April 2017 (Kageki) - Breaktime My Way
May 2017 (GRAPH) - Especial Time (with Senna Ayase)
June 2017 (Kageki) - Star Troupe Troupe Report (yes, she's only there for 2 lines, but they're so important. Required reading for the Talk DX.)
June 2017 (GRAPH) - Scarlet Pimpernel Talk DX
March 2022 - Voyage with You (with Maisora Hitomi)
April 2022 - The Charm of Takarazuka: Top Star Feathers
A cute choose-your-own-adventure style feature where Towaki Sea goes on a 'treasure hunt'. (Kageki, November 2023)
I've been working on translating this book lately since the historical information is so interesting! It's by a member of Takarazuka staff who was there from early Showa Era through the Berubara Boom.
It's complicated to translate since I have to research the footnotes so much, so I might not update consistently, but I love retro Takarazuka so I am doing my best.
The first chapter talks about some background lore like the story behind When the Violet Flowers Bloom, and some of the early history of the Revue. (It wasn't inspired by Kabuki, for one thing!)
Baby boy feature from September 2024 💐
I forgot to post over here last week so it's a troupe report two-for-one 💓
Flower Troupe talk featuring Ikuta Hirokazu (Director), Towaki Sea, and Hoshizora Misaki talking about the 2024 production of Don Juan! This was recorded during rehearsals but it's a little unclear how far along they were at the time.
A cute column about performers' backstage habits and must-have supplies! This issue features Houzuki An, Ayaki Hikari, Arisa Hitomi, and Neiro Yui.
A photo feature introducing costumes from Kiriya and Aono's Top Combi debut production of THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL.
In this essay Hizuki Hana fangirls all over the 2013 production of The Rose of Versailles: Fersen.
Ootori Mayu writes about her near-death-by-otokoyaku after going to see Ranju Tomu in the Streak of Light concert (siennes: sometimes they're just like us fr), as well as Ocean's 11 and The Rose of Versailles.
This Troupe Report features a lot of cute anecdotes from the Star Troupe (plus Minami Maito) production of Me and My Girl!
This personal fashion column featuring Anon Yuusei was published in the July 2023 issue of GRAPH.
In this week's translation, Nanami Hiroki interviews her classmate Asumi Rio. It's very cute 🥰
