Being well connected to yourself is the most important relationship. Knowing who you are and staying true to yourself is the ultimate form of self care.
“Let them judge you. Let them misunderstand you. Let them gossip about you. Their opinions aren’t your problems. You stay kind, committed to love and free in your authenticity. No matter what they do or say, don’t you doubt your worth or the beauty of your truth. Just keep shining like you always do.”
— Scott Stabile
you are the most permanent thing in your life. always. that won’t change. ever. so put you first. prioritize you. choose you. you, you, you. your needs, your wants, your dreams, your feelings, your happiness, your peace. never sacrifice any of that, and do not spend your entire life treating people who might be temporary better than you treat yourself.
— alhwrites
especially if they act like a temporary person: bare minimum, low effort, confusing, unkind, shitty, toxic.
Instead of seeking closure from them, seek closure from the woman you were who tolerated all of those things from another human being. Channel that energy back on yourself so you can bloom. It’s easier to forgive yourself when you look deep within and find out why you tolerated more than you should. Healing is an inside job. The people you deal with are either repeated examples of past traumas or opportunities for you to learn and grow.
you’ll find new people to have deep conversations with. you’ll find a new place to feel at home in. you’ll find a reason to be genuinely excited to wake up in the morning. you’ll find someone who will reinvent your tainted version of love. you’ll find a way to reconceptualise your feelings and turn to healthy ways to cope. you’ll find a way to reach your goal and improve yourself. you’ll find a way to live every day with inner peace and appreciation for everything you have.
people who care about you will show you in the way they talk to you, the way they listen to you, and what they’re willing to do for you. in the same ways, those who don’t care about you will also make it clear. pay attention to the cues.
it’s never too late. for anything: to apologize, to chase a dream, to try again, to forgive, to pick up a hobby, to fall in love, to change. you can do it whenever you want
“Go then if you must, but remember, no matter how foolish your deeds, those who love you will love you still.”
— Sophocles, Antigone (via books-n-quotes)
To every girl and woman out there: trust your intuituion, your instinct, your gut feeling. Listen to your body. Listen to your own feelings and reactions. People might tell you that you overreact, that you are paranoid, that you let earlier experiences cloud your judgment, especially if you’ve been abused, used, manipulated and betrayed before. But believe me: if you feel unsafe, if you cry at night, if it hurts, if you have to chase a feeling of safety or validation, if you feel afraid, if something just feels generally wrong, something is wrong. Your body knows, and deep down you do to. If it was right it would feel right. If it was safe it would feel safe. Believe in yourself, and be the one to save yourself.

No offense but after dating a soulless man with shallow emotions and no depth to himself… I’m only here for men that are unapologetically in love with you, openly express it to you on the daily, and is the counterpart to building your own self love helping you on that journey + process.
