turning 20 fine so who's counting
Few years ago I was on a bender trying to figure out what I want to do and where I wanna go in life.
I laid my life out like a journal. I had a timeline for everything and when the expectations weren't met at the certain time, I would beat myself up to it. I would drag myself by the gutter and call myself a failure.
I wasn't living.
As I age, I started to learn about the things I deserve so I let go of my obsession of the plans I have set for myself and I started to embrace God's will for me.
So I left the small life I was living and the people needing me to be that small. My God is it grief but it is freedom.
Few years and a few investments later, here I am typing this while sipping on my coffee overlooking my window as the last snow falls.
Forget the timeline and start living. Spring is just around the corner and it's the perfect time to start something new. It's never too late to start something new.

Turning 20 -fine but who's counting?
My 18 year old self would be shocked that I am still single but does it really matter?
We expect so much from ourselves and love ourselves poorly that we resort to determining our self worth and success based on the title attached to our name by the timeline we have set.
Almost 30 and all I want to do is pour love and life to people. Live a life with more substantial experiences that hopefully I get to tell the world someday. Speak more life and faith filled words to every situation around me to touch other people's hearts and change their lives.
Almost 30 and I am just learning how to love myself and put myself first. Learning to love the sound of my feet walking away from things and people that are not serving me right anymore. It is the most adventurous time for me cos I get to break and learn. God, the journey and the process has been liberating.
Almost 30 and it's safe to say that not being a MRS or having a title attached to my name is still me being an empowered and a successful woman.
Cheers to the versions of myself I have yet to meet. Cheers to all that I am yet to be.

6 months.
6 months.
6 months of breaking and learning, of letting go and embracing uncertainties, of advocating to my well being and loving myself, unfastening unhealthy behaviors and seeing beyond the superficial. It's easier for me to hold on to the things I am used to feeling and used to doing but there is no growth in comfort.
So, despite being uncomfortable, being scared, and not knowing what tomorrow brings, I am still waking up with a grateful heart knowing that I am living the life I once prayed to God for.
6 months.
6 months here and there's nowhere I would rather be. Solitude has never been sweeter and I strive to be more liberated by choosing myself more.
Here's to the peace I keep praying for, the good life I am living and to believing that the best is still yet to come.
