the corruption - unhealthy love and companionship, obsession. She has lots of relationships with Ken, her friends, and her sisters, it would be easy to manipulate and sour them.
the flesh - obviously. She is the Beauty Standard. She is beautiful, she is perfect, she is plastic. How much of her is twisted, how much is unnatural?
the lonely - I distinctly remember the Barbie piece where she is upset at how her popularity leads to her feeling alone. Barbie is a star and an influencer. She is known and loved by everyone but they do not really know her.
the spiral - everything about being an influencer is lying to your audience. You are putting on a show, nobody knows you.Ā
the stranger - again, nobody really knows who Barbie is. She becomes a greater enigma. This could incorporate her false plasticity and the fact she is a doll. You look at her and something isnāt quite right- her skin is too smooth, too tight, too shiny, when you shake her hand it is cold and hard instead of soft like flesh.
the vast - she has a huge closet. I also remember distinctly that her friends literally get lost in it and almost die. Easy peasy.
the web - how do you think Barbie got so popular? She is an expert at manipulation. She acts kind and loving but everything is a means to an end. She is in control of everything. Even her friends and family are pieces in her game.
the extinction - destruction and replacement of humanity of something plastic and unreal. Barbie is literally an unstoppable moving object. She has done everything and seems to own impossible technology. What could she do with it?
