!PLEASE READ PINNED RULES!! Intended as a slightly stricter version of the csvent blog. Posts must mention a species or reference species as a whole for tagging purposes. No vents about offbranders or non-cs topics.

Rules update for 2023! 🌸🍡

I will not post non-anon asks unless it is SPECIFICALLY stated that the ask is meant to be non-anon!

1. Asks must be about a specific CS or CS as a whole, anything that doesn’t mention a CS and seems to be a random user/toyhouse vent won’t be posted.

2. Serious accusations such as pedophilia, racism, LGBTQ+phobia, abuse, and similar topics must be accompanied with proof. There is no exception to this. Anything mentioning these topics without proof linked will not be published, period (excluding asks about previously proven cases).

2a) Proof must show context and be uncropped if possible, especially discord screenshots (notoriously easy to fake, unfortunately). Censoring usernames outside of the person being reported on is fine!

3. No asks about syscourse, shipcourse, or offbrandcourse. This is not the space for it slash I do not care.

4. Direct threats and hate speech will never be posted. Anything with namedrops for no particular, just rudeness with no substance, or just ‘species sucks bc I hate it’ won’t be posted as this is not intended to be the space for that! This is intended to be a relatively neutral space to vent about specific criticisms of species either individually or as a whole.

4a) Genuine concerns about someone being harmful can be submitted with proof and with usernames mentioned.

5. Please remember I have 0 personal stake in what’s posted here. I’m just here to provide a space to get things off your chest. I don’t agree with every anon posted here, and I do not keep up with any species drama outside of what’s posted here. If you want to know my opinion, it’s usually nothing, unless I’ve already posted it on the ask itself.

All posts will be tagged for organizational purposes.

May 3 Addition: Please don’t copy my rules word-for-word on any other pages. This and @csservice-reviews are the only blogs that I run and I do not want anyone thinking that I run any other blogs out there due to having the same exact rules in the same exact wording.

Reasons Your Ask Wasn't Posted: A) It's still in the queue. This blog posts 9 times a day, and sometimes gets up to 15 asks a day. Other days it gets only 1 or 2 so it evens out, but please keep that in mind lol B) Tumblr ate it. That does happen. C) You broke the rules. Yeah, seriously. Read the rules. D) It was like the fourth ask answering the exact same question posed by another anon worded exactly the same and stating the exact same thing E) It's a topic I've already called for an end on.

[pouflons] another coin sale, another month where the mods take vast majority of designs because they're the only ones with such absurd amounts of coins. And no one says anything because they don't want to be dogpiled by said mods, or by the owner. And the owner seems to think there is nothing wrong with how she's doing things. She just keeps referencing the economy as if it is the one at fault for the site barely making the money needed to run it.

It's so sad that poufs is so mediocre now but the way it is run means it will only continue to get worse. I just feel bad for the artists that get dragged down with it, they deserve more. They COULD have more, but Rhiow does not want change.

Regarding the last posted question about the longtime users quitting, it is mostly over how every suggestion for improvement is brushed off or excused, and how Rhiow has alienated everyone who could possibly care. Poufs may not die outright but it is a half sunken ship and it's better to bail than sit around with wet trousers.

Ask the mods and they can tell you there's someone who had a long ass list of their ubs voided straight off the masterlist lmao. I was watching them hoping they'd sell the one i wanted, then i saw all the ML entries with their name on it got wiped in like a day.

“816364856433344512/to-last-unbleeder-ask-u-do-realise-there-is-a” I agree with the callout and the vent (it’s just an artist friend/polycule at this point) so I find the crash and burn rant funny since you’re assuming I’m defending the group, but the spam of asks sent to all active blogs just before the callout, the blog being made when the callout post went up with a similar flood of asks, and one of the writers liking tumblr posts about the event at the time just looked strange to me. The situation was them getting financially and shit talked by friends so who cares about being petty but it seems obvious and I think this defensive ask is funny when we’re on a vent blog.

It doesn’t matter, Unbleeders has not grown since the fallout and they are still sending defensive asks (toyhousedramas blog if you want to laugh) but you’re not changing my mind when I saw how it went and the shift on all the blogs at the same time.

Decided to look at the Arvani weebly and saw on the premade section that apparently buyers for a design is determined by a random number generation, and that sale evidence is livestreamed on what I can only assume is the creator's discord to "eliminate any accusations of preferential treatment or inaccurate results." (exact words btw from the weebly), and like, I HIGHLY fucking doubt that there is fairness going on, especially with what is basically a raffle system to determine who's gonna be able to actually buy a premade from the creator. https://divinuspinna.weebly.com/premades.html for anyone who wants read it themsekves

#1 pet peeve is species with sex-locked traits. please remember intersex people exist. it can also be a point of discomfort for trans people (fem character forced to have "male trait" or vice versa) but like Please Remember Intersex People Exist. glad this is niche but when i see it, gee is it Bad.

for me what sucked the fun out of cs is the state of the world right now

because every design I make suddenly isn't just a funny oc, but potential money. I love this character, but it could be a week's groceries, my mother's meds, the phone bill, etc... and even when I make adopts specifically to sell, it's still a bit of a struggle. because I want my designs to go to people that love them, but it's usually the scalpers and flippers that offer the most money

I just want to play with my toys man 😔

This is how I think a lot of people feel. I know some of my friends who are adopt artists, just for one-offs, also noticed a pretty sharp decline in buyers this year.

People just don't have the spare money and time I think. It's unfortunate, but understandable.

How did Dainties lose value/“fall off?” I’m super out of the loop because I haven’t touched CS in years but I remember them being super popular back then. Did they make a big change that no one liked or did they just become inactive (considering the website is still in beta)? Or both? I am so perplexed

[pouflons: 815523471040954368] I heard it was some interpersonal drama over a long period, some mods not taking criticism well, and being a bit careless, which caused some people to feel antagonised, and it ultimately caused an entire (sizeable) friend group to leave. For some specific individuals who were banned, I think this was mentioned in another post, so I would look through the pouflons tag for that if you're interested.

I do want to disclaim that the team has clearly been taking steps to improve in recent months based on user feedback. So if you're coming back to the group, I don't think you will experience the same issues that caused that large group to leave (or at least won't experience them to the same capacity)

My only ongoing complaints are that queue times are still a bit long for my tastes, and I wish there were more options for the Kofi.

[succubuns] hi so i was scrolling and saw someone had an offbrand that looked like a succubun, and they ended up making a comment at the end saying "i do not support the succubun group or their admin team." (apparently this was three years ago) but im hearing a lot of other things about this species team and im not too caught up on everything so how come people dont support them? i dont like CS myself i love the oc ideas though and might make an offbrand myself but im so far behind on all the drama lol.

i also was ip banned because i guess they found out i wasnt the right age (i was literally 20 at the time but okay) LOL

(Dreadnauts) Absolutely agree with this anon. The server is so fucking miserable to be in and I don't know how people are still in it and how it has SO many members.

Not to mention the Coelune craze they have and how stupid it looks to add furry legs and some moon to what's supposed to be a sea creature hiding in a human guise. Does no one care about the species concept? Like, at all?!

Hoping people get bored of it and leave after all the designs have been bought up (and hoarded) by Big Stacks mentioned prior. Just make your own creature hiding or hosting a human body. You are NOT the first and never will be (Mignyan catching a stray as well).

Saw the post comparing Smiling Dragons and Alladons. To be fair Alladons aren’t that bad. At least they got vast and expansive lore and massive documents explaining their biology. Yes they are basically dragon x raptor hybrids but there’s at least some thought put behind it.

Smiling Dragons are just fluffy dragons that can’t have wings, have no nostrils and need a big toothy grin. Oh and they were bred in a lab… that’s all there is.

there has been HUGE issues with unbleeders and how the community is treated if they arent popular or 'in' the internal group
