Aamon just barely managed to brace himself, as he was given about two seconds before his girlfriend pounced him to the floor. He managed to brace himself and keep his poor tail from being crushed. Laying back on the ground, he wrapped his arms around her back, pulling himself into the tight hug. Once she pulled away, he tried to as well, before realizing he was lying on the ground.
“Well, at least you’re happy to see me.”
Spotting the packages, he spoke up.
“Ahh, need any help carrying those?”
“Of course I am!” She smiled although it didn’t quite look to be the same beaming smile she usually gave. Her energy was drained and she was still trying her best not to worry so much about her friend who was still missing. It was hard, very hard. But seeing him brought some light into her day, making it better than it had been.
Her attention turned to the packages when asked if she needed help. “Hm? No I’m good with it.” She answered, moving off of the other to put the spilled packages back into her bag.
“Next time I’m stuck out of town I’ll have to get a bigger bag though. I was just barely able to fit all of them in this one.”
