Mark always was a little more daring than Lizzie, he acts like heâs fearless & he knows that terrifyâs  Lizzie, but this was just a little fun âthey were going to be fine â nothing bad ever happened on life & death brigade trips & this weekendâs camp was no exception. â Oh câmon Beth  itâs safe, I promise â would I ever put you in danger? ââ he smiles, his charm always did him well, it was what got him Lizzie in the first place.      â your gonna be harnessed in, itâs only 100 feet, and Iâll be there with you the whole way down â just take my hand, close your eyes & J U M Pâ Â
She was only a freshman, he had a year and  half of these stupid stunts under his belt, but this was Lizzieâs first time joining him on on of their outings. It felt good to be able to share this little secret club with her, something that was theirs âsomething Derek had no part in, besides he was far too stuffy for a club like the Life & Death Brigade anyway.Â
â You ready?â he turns to her smiling slipping his hand in hers giving it a squeeze. âIâll be right with you babe, you can do this ââÂ
How the hell did she get here? The freshmen wondered as she watched the couples in front of them. The height was horrifying, and yet, Mark, her crazy boyfriend  was totally calm, but Lizzie--Oh, Lizzie was downright terrified. The only thing that kept her from down right bolting was the fact Mark had somehow gotten them into line without her realizing it, and now, well--now she was too terrified to even move.Â
âYou have got to be joking.â She croaked, face pale. âAbsolutely mad, Mark. itâs a hundred feet! Do you know what happens to a body that falls that distance? Youâre pre-med--you should.â Her rambling has kicked in, something that happened when she was particularly nervous or excited and something that had never failed to make Mark chuckle.
When his hand slipped into herâs, Lizzie returned the grip probably tenfold. âIf I die--let me just remind you that youâd be the one to tell Derek, and Nancy.â She didnât back down though, because with Mark smiling at her like that, she would, and could do anything.
MAKE MY MUSE SMILE.

âHey little sister,â Lizzie murmured affectionately, pulling Amelia into a hug. âHowâre you?â
Forever and Always
@mcxsteamy
Lizzie wasnât sure she was breathing anymore, hell, she didnât know if she was living. All she could do was stare at Owen, her blue eyes wide in shock. She was unable to feel anything, but also feeling like she was just drenched in ice water. Vaguely, she was aware that her knees had started to buckle, and that Jackson--when did he get here?--was catching her and helping lower her to the ground. She could only just stare at Owen, who was now kneeling in front of her.Â
Markâs plane was missing. A crash was suspected. All at once, a  strangled sound escaped her throat and tears started sliding down her cheeks, her body started shaking and it felt as if a brick was sitting on her lungs. A panic attack, some part of her brain realized. She hadnât had one of these since Katie was born, before that it had been when Derek got shot. Oh god, Derek. Both times, Mark had been the one to calm her. Panic attacks had been common after her fatherâs funeral, Derek, Mark...all of their friends, they knew how to calm her without medication. And now she had no one. Over the roar in her ears, she could vaguely hear Jackson trying to calm her, Owen promising theyâd do all they could. But it wasnât enough.  Her husband, her best friend was missing. Not only that but so was her brother, her sister in law.. they were all missing.Â
The brunette couldnât take it anymore, she wrenched herself out of Jacksonâs grasp and ran to the nearest bathroom as fast as her legs could carry her. Once her lunch had finished making its reappearance, Lizzie shakily began moving her way to the corridor that would take her to the roof, ignoring everyone. She knew she should have grabbed a water bottle or something--Mark would have made her, she knew. But if Mark were here, she wouldnât be in this situation.
Once she was on the roof, Lizzie closed her eyes, relishing the fresh air against her clammy skin. Â Mark would be fine. She just had to believe that. Right? No, he had to be. Because without him... Pursing her lips together against the sudden wave of panic, Lizzie fished her cellphone out of her pocket and began dialing.
âSammy?â Lizzieâs voice was a strangled whisper. âI need you...Markâs missing...âÂ
âJackson walked in on a princess tea party in my office the other week, i think he knows.â Mark laughed, shaking his head lightly, it was no real secret that his bad ass image stopped when ever his daughters came into the picture, he could go from bad ass plastics god kicking ass and taking names, to a tiara wearing,  let it go singing daddy in 3 seconds flat, and honestly he wouldnât have it any other way. âWeâre totally gold medalists, have you seen us in the OR â we are freaking incredible together ââ he grinned, it was true, whenever they had a case together the gallery was always packed, and the inters would fight to get a spot in the OR with them, they were like surgical magic to watch, so finely in tune with exactly what the others next move would be.Â
Mark laughed so hard he almost spat out the mouthful on wine he had just taken, gulping it down he shook his head giggling at the thought, âoh god â that was hilarious, your face â god babe if you could have seen it I wish I had a snap of that.â he smirked, recalling it vividly. âStill â mcsteamyâs is way hotter than then mcdreamyâs at least we sound bad ass â not like a infomercial for memory foam pillows.â
Scrunching up his face, a smug grin on his face, âbald and boring â you had a lucky escape babe. â I have no idea what youâre talking about  ââ smirking he twirled some pasta on his fork, âOkay maybe I did scare away potential boyfriends, but hey in my defense I was kinda in love with you â only too stupid to tell you.â the admission blushing his cheeks, they both knew it, hell after everything they had been through it was more than a well known fact that they had been high school sweethearts even if they didnât actually realise it at the time.Â
âHoney, I think even the interns know.â She laughed. It was an unofficial rule that no intern was allowed to even touch their kids--even if they had a paper cut. Not only did neither parent trust the idiots, but their daughters were extremely picky with doctors. Lizzie shook her head, âHonestly, I donât know why everyone finds us fascinating.â She knew they were good, but they werenât zoo animals either.Â
Her blush dominated her cheeks as she gave a mock glare to her husband, âHey, we donât all have egos the size of Texas.â But the comment about Derek being a brand of pillows had her dissolving into giggles all the same.
âYes, yes, darling. So lucky that I have a supermodel for a husband.â She retorted, though she did quirk her eyebrow at him teasingly. âYeah, I know. But I was also too chicken to tell you.â Lizzie pointed out before taking a bite of the pasta.
Derek beamed. âIâll give it time before she finally moves down to southern California or Arizona to be where it never rains.â It was nice to have Lizzie in Seattle. Sure, growing up they were not extremely close like he was with Amelia. But family had always meant the world to him. From his mother and sisters to his wife and children. Even if it was hard to tell, family did rise higher than work. And he had to learn that the very hard way. At her comment about how he and Amy could keep the fight going over brains, his smile grew larger. That was the sly comments that he missed about her. âSo you just came here to watch Amy and I fight as you hang out and play with the toys? But I guess I have some time off that I can show you around. Maybe show you where the good cafe is around the hospital for lunch.â
âI bet three years.â Lizzie laughed, sending a grin toward her elder brother. It was nice, having the sibling banter again.Because Lizzie was so much younger then Katherine and Nancy--they often felt more like âadultsâ rather then siblings and it was hard for Lizzie to have the teasing banter with them that she had with Amelia and Derek. And she was happy that Derekâs reaction to her moving to the west coast was a positive one. Her head tilted as she considered Derekâs teasing question, her expression was both dramatic and thoughtful for a second before she answered. âEssentially,â She laughed, âSomeone had to bring the popcorn. Oooh, I feel so special.âÂ
Hey everyone.Â
Iâm alive!
Iâm doing okay, still struggling some days, but there are more good days popping up. I think University starting back up is helping because it keeps me busy haha, but I also think not getting on tumblr every day, all day is helping too.
So Iâm back, but I wonât be on all the time, probably a few times a week? Idk, weâll see how this goes lol.
âI donât need an award. The looks on the faces of those nasty old men at the monthly meeting when they realized they actually had to listen to me speak instead of making annoying cracks about my âfrontal lobesâ was a reward in and of itself. And Hermanâs life, of course. Seriously though, Iâm just glad it worked. Although I might have copies of her scans in a frame on my desk. But at least I didnât hang it in my bedroom like a certain freak brother of ours.â
âOh, Iâm sure it was--though I hope you included some sarcastic remark as well. Iâm glad it worked too, Iâm really proud of you, you know? Of course, you do. But Iâm glad youâre sensible about it and didnât put in sharpie on your bedroom wall. Honestly, who raised him? If I remember correctly, mom never let us draw on the walls.â
