it hurts when i have to play the bad cop role to my sister because she’s been getting on my nerves so bad for the past month and i have to tell her there will be consequences if she doesn’t change. it hurts because i wanna be chill all the time but she literally makes me act like our mom. my god she’s annoying as hell
iwtv is a cautionary tale of what happens to you when gay men drag you into their relationship drama
claudia wasn't given a choice when she was turned into a vampire (unlike louis), lestat and louis turned her into a vampire because their relationship was getting rocky (couples who have children to fix their relationships, classic!), she's the only who struggles with immortality in a child's body (which actually makes her an even more active participant in her own fate and tries to make the most of it), she constantly & proactively tries to look for a life outside of louis and lestat's toxic relationship (but they keep dragging her into their mess time and time again against her will), she's given 10 minutes of screentime with madeleine but their relationship was x1000 more meaningful than louis and lestat's situationship that spans over a century. like .
yet louis and lestat are the main characters and we're interviewing louis and armand? ohhhh okay. of course of course. well daniel should go to the afterlife and interview miss claudia right now
i actually say claudia is the best character in iwtv because, after a certain point louis & lestat's story has little to do with vampirism...? it's just mainly their relationship drama and how that drama drags on forever because they're immortal. but claudia actually presents the more philosophical & folklore aspects of vampirism (immortality in a child's body, accidentally killing the man she loves because of her vampirism, wanting to find other vampires and to be a part of a coven, protecting madeleine out of a genuine bond that formed between them and carefully choosing her to be her life partner, i mean she literally takes louis to romania). like i got all the interesting vampire stuff from claudia and not louis or lestat. she's the one who makes iwtv a vampire story

maybe there's a twist in there somewhere i'm only on season 2 episode 3 so idk but so far i prefer louis and armand's relationship over louis and lestat's. tbh i don't understand the allure of lestat at all so i didn't get why louis was so enamored by him which made me feel nothing for their relationship in general hmmm

i'm almost at the end of season 2 and i can see the plot twist coming (lestat evil??? no actually armand...) but it still doesn't make me like lestat. this gay vampire situationship drama show smh
i wouldn't trust myself with tv recommendations and critiques because i gave up watching mad men and the sopranos after like 2 episodes because i was kinda bored, but to me yuri on ice is one of the best animes that mastered the genre of camp yaoi. so when i say i hated your favorite show or your favorite white man is ugly, please remember that it's literally coming from someone who thought yuri on ice was a masterpiece, like i wouldn't take myself too seriously either...

one thing i really find... limiting about drawing yaoi is that it's difficult to make men's outfits look cunt but also adhere to the traditional ideas of masculinity at the same time... i look at women's clothes and ohhhh it's so beautiful i feel the creative juices swirling in the my brain and all the ways i can draw outfits the silhouettes the layersssss, but men? it's a crop top at best. man sometimes i wish i could just draw women all the time or at least the general public would be more open to the idea of a man in a skirt like please i love men in chic maxi pencil skirts ohhhhh please do you see the vision
