"Kaminari, focus." Cementoss went straight back into his lesson as soon as he got Kaminari's attention.
Kaminari observed the rest of his classmates with a quick sweep of his eyes and slumped back into his chair. He had absolutely no idea how any of them could just easily pay attention to this bullshit. Cementoss was a great guy, but boy, was he a boring ass teacher. He didn't really understand what the point was to learning about all these writings. Isn't reading your own material in your own time enough? Â
The class went by for what seems like forever, but when it was finally over, Kaminari was the first one out the door. He stands at the foot of the steps to wait for his friends. He was planning on having them all play Mario Kart together.
"Get away from me, shitty hair! You use too much gel!" That's definitely Bakugo and Kirishima. Which means Mina and Sero aren't too far behind.
When they finally come into view, Kaminari struggles to get their attention. They were still laughing with eachother despite how many times he tries to greet them. Â When he finally got their attention he could've sworn that they looked annoyed.
"Oi, what the fuck do you want Pikachu?"
Kaminari was thrown off for a moment, but he only had to remind himself that Bakugo's just like that before reverting back to normal. But still, a part of him can't help but feel like none of them wanted him there.
"Man, I still can't believe you and Kirishima broke the bed." He puts an arm around his shoulders. "Must've been a crazy ass night, huh?"
"Argh, shut up you dunce face!" Kaminari had to hide behind Kirishima to avoid his explosions. It got a laugh out of the others, which was good enough for him. "We're not dating!"
"Hey, anyway, so I was thinking we could all hang out back in myâ"
"Oh, sorry, Jirou have Sero and I free tickets to a concert after her parents decided not to come. There wasn't enough for you." Mina spoke up. She looked genuinely apologetic, but that still didn't stop the pain.
"Oh." He turned to the other two boys. "What abouâ"
"Katsuâ Bakugo and I have someplace else to go. Sorry, Kaminari." He dragged a pouting Bakugo away. "We'll make it up to you next time."
He let out a sigh. 'Not dating... yeah,right.' Kaminari turned to at least say goodbye to Sero and Mina, but they were already gone.
He dejectedly made his way back to his room. He didn't understand why Jirou gave them the tickets and not him and Momo. They were closer together, weren't they? Or at least closer to Momo.
"Time to play Mario Kart with a bunch of computers, yay..." He ultimately decided not to play by himself like a loser and grabbed a book to read.
Kaminari loved books. It didn't seem like it from how much he hated literature class, but he ate that shit up on his own. A lot of people outside of UA make fun of him for being stupid, but hey, he got into UA in the first place. That's damn impressive. The real mystery is how purple grape diaper boy got in.
Deep down he knew that his friends probably didn't think much of what they did and what they said, and he knew that they didn't hate him at all. But he honestly felt like they just didn't care. After all, he was always the one making the effort to keep conversations going.
After a while of wallowing in self pity, he decided to go downstairs and grab himself a snack. Strangely enough, the lights were out. They usually only completely turned off like this after curfew. He wandered the room in search of a light switch, but he didn't need to, as someone turned on the lights.
Sero, Todoroki, and Mina were left confused as everyone else facepalmed.
"You fucking idiots, you were supposed to say it when the lights turned on, and with the rest of us!"
"Well, no one gave me a warning." Sero bashfully tried to defend himself.
Kaminari started at the group in bewilderment. He could see that they were trying to do something special for him, but now it's all turned into chaos. Bakugo starts yelling at everyone while Dela tries to calm him down. Iida tries to scold all four of them but only furthers the mess. Jirou was laughing at the mess that it's all turned into. Mineta was unconscious in the corner, wonder how that happened. Todoroki started scolding himself for not being on time with everyone else. While the rest just look on in disappointment, Kaminari was starting to tear up.
They all stopped as soon as they noticed. Surprisingly, Bakugo was the first to step forward and say something.
"Earphone jackass ("Hey!") over there noticed that there was something bothering you, so we all got together to throw you some book party bullshit. I thought it would be boring as shit."
"Half of this was your idea too, jackass."
"Shut up!" They all sighed as Jirou and Bakugo started arguing.
"You guys..." He started laughing. "Holy shit, you guys, this is amazing."
Momo handed him a pile of books to pick from. "Are you ready for our book study?"
He picked one up from the top of the pile. "Hell yeah."
And for the rest of the night, they read. Well, part of the night. Somewhere through the book study they started taking turns playing Smash Ultimate. Iida kept trying to come up with excuses as to why he kept losing. Ojiro ended up defeating them all, much to everyone else's disappointment. Curiously enough, Aizawa never came in to yell at them for staying up past curfew.
Shit got real cheesy in the end but fuck it he deserves to be a happy boy.
