002. i do not follow everyone back. i've been on tumblr for many years now and have learned how best to curate a space for myself that i am happy to be in. it would be a disservice not only to myself but to everyone if i acted as though i could keep up with a quick moving dash by interacting with every single person. for the most part, i tend to follow people back within twenty four hours if i can see us writing together. otherwise i do make sure to softblock unless rules state you'd prefer to be hardblocked to avoid confusion. 003. if you support or condone racism, homophobia, transphobia, white-washing, suicide baiting, bullying or bigotry of any kind i will immediately block you. this also goes for zionists. we have nothing in common and i do not want that energy in my space. this is your one and only warning. 004. in terms of callout culture: i do not partake in it just for the sake of it. i typically do not reblog or engage with callout posts, but if someone is actively harmful to the community as a whole then of course that's different. i'm not interested in watching anyone to try to chase somebody out of a community simply because they don't like them. i am an adult with a mind of her own who can make decisions for herself. just because i don't interact doesn't mean i don't see it nor does it mean i'm supporting or not supporting it. 005. lastly, i'm here for a good time lets roll n roll.

it's not paranoid when it turns out you're actually being watched. / from birdie

though she does not and will never fully accredit her espionage success to the fact that most people would consider her merely daft and incapable based on the very few details that they actually ever really cared to know about her— she also cannot exactly identify with the idea of being watched. peggy made a home in the shadows many years ago. there is a certain consistency she's grown to rely on when she moves within their darkened abysses. while she, herself, suffers from no delusions of grandeur it is [at the very least] note worthy that whether or not she is "daft and incapable" becomes the most irrelevant part of a conversation save for the people who are daring to choose an answer to such an insufferable debate. ¹they cannot afford her any real attention if they are too busy with thoughts of their own hierarchy and where it lands them on the totem poles that separate them from herself.

allow this to be considered, however: she is not being watched for ¹this reason secondly. [firstly,] because what they think or do not think.. from their heads to their hearts and right down to the marrow in their very bones.. does not ever make the list of her concerns. and she doesn't care to correct them. after all, when the cards are stacked against you, you must use every last one you can get your hands on in search of the royal flush.

"there's never any harm in keeping your wits about you. in fact, i would strongly advise against throwing caution to the wind if you do not wish to draw attention to yourself. though i'm not sure i entirely lead by example." just another.. do as peggy says, not as peggy does type of thing, she supposes, and rearranges the cellar of her mind with a note left on the fridge for future reference. "besides, knowing you're being watched is when the real fun can start. you put on a show. dazzle the audience. slip away back home. wait an— appropriate amount of time. and then right on into the night again.. preferably in different clothes. you could even throw in a perfectly good hat for the occasion. everybody loves a good hat."

the wheels are turning in that unparalleled mind of hers. with all its complexities, all its secrets, he could still see it clear as day. and it brings a smile to his lips –  the kind that, like his thoughts, is free of any burden. the enamored kind, giving only warmth. only admiration. only love. [ that was it, wasn't it? it's love. ] silence reigns for the first time in days. no enemies to fight, not battlefields to conquer. no bullets ringing in their years. it's peaceful, quiet. save for the beating of his heart, furiously trying to escape its cage and dulling all other senses.

steve sees the whole world in peggy's eyes. his whole world.

were he not always so determined to hang on to her every word, he might've missed what she said. alas, he doesn't. it brings him pause for a minute  –  furious thumping of his heart coming to a halt. words weren't his forté, not like this. she finessed, he fronted. so he's afraid of having said the wrong ones. but peggy finesses both their ways out of that as well, bringing relief to steve's heart and hardened features. " you almost got me there. " he argues, daring to take a step closer, another boot sinking into the snow of this unforgiving european winter. it's not cold around her. " there's a great deal of things i've never considered before you, peg. " another step, closer still. this outside world she talks about is non-existent. " and once again, none of 'em are bad. "

it's funny, she thinks; he's bigger than she ever could've imagined. certainly not the steve rogers she first met at phillips' training camp. but that's not the size peggy finds herself ruminating over. no, as she stares up at him through her eyelashes— captain south america in all of his glory— it's his heart she feels as though she's staring into. larger than life and perhaps the most beautiful thing about him. with each step he takes towards her she swears she can hear it as it pounds its boned cage to shame. or maybe it's her own heart she hears. performs a mental check to make sure she's still breathing: why yes, i haven't forgotten how to stay alive in the time its taken him to close the distance between us! peggy carter still breathes! what a remarkable feat!

guess she's always been at her best when she’s on the nick of time, needle in a haystack, pumped full of adrenaline with nothing but pursed lips and a shine in her eyes that somebody who’s seen as much and done as much as she has absolutely should not have. "i suppose you couldn't have done much considering then, if that's your case." she says coyly, in a tone made of silk. there aren't many people alive who have been on the receiving end of her in this form. there also aren't any at all like steve. she meets his step with one of her own, practically toe to toe now, but decides to reach for his hand instead. "then again, i never gathered bad and steve rogers would go hand in hand either." oh, but theirs surely do fit nicely together. "so tell me something good then. since you've had all this time now."

he says it, and for a second— she believes it. absolutely doesn't believe he's lying. peggy is impartial to a good lie if it gets the job done. a web of words can be ones greatest asset if only they know how to string them together in just the right formation. but what job would he be serving now? there is nobody else in sight; an endless quietude surrounding them in her makeshift apartment that she barely spends any waking hours in. as if they're in an abyss she can hear the reverberation of his voice at echoes from one wall to another. brilliant time to speak now, pegs. the vision of a love-sick fool.

one drop.. two drop.. three drop.. whoever owns this wretched building has surely got to be late on fixing that windowpane. not only can she bloody well hear the rain as it cries upon the new york city streets she can see it, glistening on its way to the checkered floor. peggy bears half-the-mind to put a bucket for catch there herself. clearly nobody else is going to. the poor waitress is far too busy with other patrons to even notice— precisely why she picked this place to begin with (less likely will she be noticed or listened to or barely even looked over)— if the woman hasn't managed to tune it out in her tenure anyway and despite the fact the man who stands in the corner wears his moustache a little too spic and span at the corners she'd be willing to place a fairly large gamble that he only wishes he had some stakes in this place, not that he actually has any at all.
