YEAH FINE WHATEVER SYNONYM MAKES YOU HAPPIEST
Everyone stop doom scrolling and look at this little guy that showed up at the campsite.
Now that The Digital Circus finale has been released yesterday, I’d like to talk about how powerful this exchange was between Pomni & Jax.
After seeing all those memories of Jax being incredibly abusive and neglectful of others’ emotions, Pomni could’ve let her have it for all that pain she caused. She would’ve been well within her right to rip Jax a new one for everything that has happened.
However, Pomni chooses to look at this as a chance to give Jax acknowledgment for who she always wanted to be. For someone that never got a fair chance to feel heard in their parental upbringing getting judged and mocked repeatedly for being “less of a man” by their mother, Pomni allows Jax to feel loved as a human being.
I didn’t know you could play the piano…
I only know like two songs…
It wasn’t about holding Jax accountable anymore at this point. Not to say Pomni ran up to hug her to absolve of Jax in everything, Hell no. It was to show that even with every self sabotaging attempt she made to be demonized into a heartless person, Pomni still saw a lonely and heartbroken individual beneath all those shitty choices Jax made.
That’s the powerful aspect of Digital Circus’ finale. It’s about the beauty and tragedy of connections that can inspire a person to be better or worse, depending on their circumstances.
I think disability justice would be easier if abled people understood that being disabled is a mixture of all three of
I can’t do that without negative consequences
I can’t do that unless I have support for it
I can’t do that
and that trying to treat one of these as if it’s another one will get you nowhere.

Reblogs in a chain now get their own notes
The reblog chain is one of the things that makes Tumblr unlike anywhere else. All the notes on reblogs are attributed to the original post, no matter which branch people actually liked or reblogged. We want to keep encouraging conversations, and give contributors the recognition they deserve.
Soon, you'll be able to like, reblog, or reply to any part of a reblog chain, and that note will go to that reblog's author. Each reblog will have its own counts, instead of one aggregated number from every version of the post. And yes, you’ll be able to like multiple posts in one chain.
If a reblog doesn't add anything, the love flows up to the last person in the chain who did. Your post doesn't lose notes just because people spread it quietly.
Past notes will stay on the original post — we're only changing what happens from here on out. Retroactively re-attributing all of them would be... a lot.
This is just the beginning. More changes are coming as we keep building this out – stay tuned!
Not only will this ruin a core element of Tumblr, it will make it very difficult to tell where and when a post is getting traction. People are on this website because it isn't Twitter. Making it more like Twitter will turn people away.
The last thing this website needs is a culture of catty twitter-style quote-retweets. This will actively encourage more toxic users to interact with your posts because their traffic will be more difficult to track.
this actively sabotages the core benefit of tumblr over other platforms, the ability to have nuanced longform conversations. this change will make the website drastically worse
the amount of goodwill you could earn with your userbase by saying "okay nvm" right now is astronomical
as someone who was on deviantart way too much in middleschool my relationship to the furry community is sort of like how athiest people still celebrate christmas.
Not to sound like a decrepit, rambling corpse about it, but back in my day Word used to be a pre installed program that came with your computer, if you were running Windows.
No subscription. Just program.
On your computer. You got to use it forever and ever and never had to worry about it going away.
Because it was physically on your computer. As a program. That you actually owned. Not because you got it separately, but because it was a standard inclusion with your computer.
I'm sorry but I'll just never get over it. I remember when companies cared about their products being usable out of the box. I remember when our things belonged to us.
