I came across the drama CD for the end of Saiunkoku Monogatari (”Ayanasu Yume no Owari”)  so I decided to listen again.  Ughhh I cried as much as I did the first time.  This damn series.  I think it has been long enough since it ended that I can safely spoil.  If you still don’t want to be spoiled, then stop reading here. 

Like…ughh it SUCKS that even though Ryuuki endured for 10 years for Shuurei…helping her political endeavors at the cost of being with her, having to wait alone while she traveled to dangerous places, dealing with issues back at home along with the pressure of having to take a wife, and a whole lot of other crap…after all that, and without Shuurei really reciprocating his feelings (at least on the outside)…again, for 10 years…then they finally, FINALLY get married…!  …only for Shuurei to die a year later, after they have their first child.  WTFFFF

And this last drama CD is basically Shuurei talking to the people closest to both her and Ryuuki at different times of her pregnancy – first Seiran, then Kouyuu, and then Ran – going over everything Ryuuki did for her, what he gave up and had to deal with for her, how he loved her, how she realized she loved him, etc.  She then ended each conversation with a request for each of them to take care of Ryuuki and be there for him (after she’s gone AUGHHHNOOO ;A;).

At the end, their baby is already born and she has possibly her last (or pretty close to last) conversation with Ryuuki.  Ughhh tears everywhere.  This damn series, this damn gorgeous soundtrack…
