Not knowing how to give people the help they need is the worst.
Sometimes I wish folks would stop going to me with their problems and seek out someone better qualified.

sometimes I wonder how we all survive and then I look at my best friends and I go “oh, I survive because I don’t want to leave you yet” and it makes sense. life is so hard a lot of the time, but I want one more bowl of pasta with you.
This morning there was a nation-wide text spam campaign targeting Black Americans (largely students) telling them that they’ve been selected to pick cotton and will be picked up to be sent to a plantation after Trump’s inauguration.
People online are making jokes about it, but it’s genuinely a disturbing sign. Someone was emboldened enough to intentionally run a background on thousands of young Black people and send them racist messages the day after a very exhausting and stressful election.
Racist messages telling people that they were selected to pick cotton for a plantation group have been received across the country -- includ
Black students around the country are receiving racist text messages ordering them to report to plantations.
Local law enforcement is looking into the messages.
Multiple Georgia residents contacted FOX 5 Atlanta after receiving an alarming text message or being informed about a potential threat from
Holy shoot
People keep wondering how Trump won, but honestly it's relatively easy to see. On top of the far right turn that usually takes place after disasters, there's a few other factors at play. Mainly, inflation.
The average American doesn't have a clue what's going on in their government (state or federal) or around the world. I tried talking to a local about Palestine, and she thought it was another word for Pakistan. Right now the biggest concern I've heard from my neighbors is actually groceries and gas prices.
Biden failed to address inflation, and Harris didn't have a solid plan. Neither did Trump, but Trump did say he was going to decrease prices, and the people in my rural area here remember everything being cheaper in 2017 but not much else. That includes just about every racial group present in my neighborhood. We don't have widespread Internet and most people get the news from satellite TV news, so they are uninformed about most things.
(logistics are tricky for people to keep in mind when their wallets are on the line)
On top of that, Trump promised high tax returns for many income brackets . That extra money looks awfully good if you're struggling to afford groceries right now. Regardless of if he's going to do it or not. (Prices will probably get higher because of the proposed tarrifs). People want to keep their own fed and safe, regardless of foreign affairs or civil rights. The second Trump's team announced their tax return plan I knew he was going to be elected. I'm just surprised I predicted it before Allan Lichtman.
I don't know where this post is going, but don't blame other left-leaning people for voting 3rd party or being pro-Palestine. If you really want to figure out the general consensus among average Americans, talk to your neighbors. Join a local Facebook page. Organize and build community as much as possible. We will need it in these difficult years.
Some unexpected heroes
Is she genuinely losing?! How are the democrats so good at losing
Idc what your favorite tumblrina is gonna write tomorrow about third party voters and "single-issue" voters for palestine. Harris will not lose because of third party voters and palestinians she will lose because this country is becoming further and further right wing. The white vote in this country is farther right. The democrats in trying to curry favor with this white populist rise abandoned their usual campaign policies and did so for nothing. Talks of being harder on the border, dismissal of trans rights, vague talking points on abortion, dick Cheney endorsement was all in response to the right wing rise happening even in the blue states. And they did it all for nothing.
if you're feeling powerless right now—and god knows I am—here's a reminder you can donate to the National Network of Abortion Funds, the Trans Law Center, Gaza Soup Kitchen, the Palestine Children's Relief Fund, and hundreds of other charities that will work to mitigate the damage that has been and will continue to be inflicted
life continues. we still have the capacity to do good, important work. that matters

This not-quite-inktober didn't turn out as I wanted, but are family photos ever perfect?
My collaborator and I thought it would be fun to try making our characters (besides Emily who's in her vampire form from earlier) look like ones from some of our favorite shows. I tried. XD
All said, I'm glad I tried something ambitious like this. Even if it's not perfect, it's good practice.
Characters: Lucas, Anna, Shane, Emily, Lyra and Art, from... My stuff!
(Shane and Lucas created and designed by a collaborator, Lyra and Art co-created with a collaborator)
Lucas dressed as The 10th Doctor, from Doctor Who
Anna dressed as Eda, from The Owl House
Shane, Lyra, and Art dressed as Grunkle Stan, Mabel and Dipper, from Gravity Falls
Star Trek + Social Commentary (context in the captions)
I need to watch this series for real sometime

What we could have had WHAT WE COULD HAVE HAD
the realisation that the concept of a canary in a coalmine is the inverse of orpheus and eurydice has hit me. there is a guide and there is a follower. there is love and there is danger. devotion leads to failed rescue. orpheus lives, but loses his love forever. the canary dies, but saves its follower. theyre the siblings of being doomed by the narrative. the same but different. anyway..
NO but the SECOND they found out that their dad killed Ben? The storyline from there should have been the siblings reverting back to season one, killing their dad, growing up with Ben and being actual little superheros, but all the good moments happen anyway, with Ben included.
Ben meets a girl called Sloane that he loves like a sister, luckily she marries his older brother Luther.
A girl with powers called Lila gets dropped off at their home, she's outcasted but Ben is kind to her, he's the one that convinces Diego to confess his feelings.
Ben babysits Claire whilst Allison is out at BLM protests with Ray.
Ben keeps Klaus sober and helps him control his powers, so when he meets a nice boy called Dave, Klaus can have a healthy relationship.
Ben is snarky, so he and Five have a great relationship, whenever Five goes out exploring, Ben is the one waiting up to make sure there's coffee upon his arrival. To make sure he ALWAYS makes it home.
Ben is the best man at Viktor and Sissys' wedding, helping Harlon tie his tie for him and there is absolutely no world ending crisis for the siblings anymore because Ben loves his brother Viktor, Ben is kind to him, so Viktor never feels alone.
Ben was what they were missing, the most important thing their father took from them, once they get him back, everything else is gravy.
