Born and raised in LA, Penny always thought she'd make it big on the silver screen. Overly energetic, enthusiastic, and animated from the get go, it had seemed that she'd make it no matter what. So she'd been a drama kid all through school, the lead in all the school productions. It didn't matter that her parents were drunk all the time, she took care of herself, and it just meant more time to party with her friends. But, her dreams never did materialize. Not even a single role as an extra landed in her lap, and now out on her own living with roommates to be closer to the auditions, she'd had to find other employment. Turns out the skill she didn't have in acting she sure had for the less shiny stage, but the money she made never lasted long. Drawn far too easily into the party life that came with employment in the clubs across the seedier parts of LA had her a slave to the cocaine and the alcohol far too quickly. Even on her best days, including her....side jobs.... she couldn't ever seem to make enough to rent and her habit, and eventually she'd racked up a decent amount of debt with her dealer. With her life seemingly on the line, Penny had little choice but to flee LA, heading for the only other place she knew, and one that housed her only real friend on the planet: her cousin Jesse. Now in Corrall and basically homeless, Penny's head lays either in a room rented from a creepy old man named Bob's trailer, a room at the motel on better nights, or her tent in the woods on worse ones. Fortunately, it turned out Corrall had it's own thriving sources for the things that made her thrive, and Penny was pretty sure if she was gunna find happiness anywhere, it would be there.
Connections:
Jesse Cowen: Cousin. Best friend in the world. Coolest guy to walk the planet. James Dean to her Marilyn Monroe.
Nathan Beam: Cutest guy she's ever seen, has the nicest hair, the nicest smile, and he's so friendly. Penny seriously likes him and wishes she'd had more friends like him in LA.
Emily Powell: Friend and Nathan's roommate. Penny wonders if they're a couple, but she's pretty sure they're not. They're both super nice and she wouldn't even be mad if they got together. Even if she likes Nathan a lot, she ships it.
Vincent Holliday - One of the most fun people she's met since moving to Corrall, one of the few who can match her energy. Penny ADORES him.
Sada Vang: Boss. Best club owner she's worked for yet. Penny's chosen mother figure, much to Sada's chagrin.
Charles Payne: Sada's super sexy partner, and also kind of Penny's bossy by association. She doesn't know him too well, but she's managed to get away with calling him Pops. He doesn't seem to mind.
The artist guy: Penny doesn't really know him. She's never spoken to him, never even set foot in his gallery. She's scared she'd break or ruin something, but she spends a lot of time looking at the art through the windows.
John-Paul 'JP' Rose: Bouncer at the club and Penny's 'Gay best friend', she's determined to at least ONE TIME get him head to toe covered in glitter and up on the stage.
Tracy Contreras: 'Client' at Eden's Garden and personally. Penny enjoys his company and never fails to make sure he has a good time. He pays her well enough and it's usually after nights with him that she can afford rooms at the motel.
Knox Lovelace: Good friend from LA. Penny helped him and his sister find a place to lay low while they ran from the cult they escaped from. Besties with benefits, Penny adores Knox and is pretty sure they're friend soul mates. No one on the planet makes her laugh like Knox does.
Holden Reynolds: Penny's had a crush on Holden since they were kids. Every summer when she'd come to spend two weeks in Carroll with Jesse's family, Penny would try to catch his attention, but he only had eyes for Autumn Manchester. Now that all three of them are back in Carroll two decades later, things have changed and Penny has found herself lost to the mercy of Holden's Reynold's whims.
Mateo Morales: The nicest person Penny's maybe ever met. He's always thinking of other people, and his brain NEVER EVER stops moving, just Penny's but in a different way. She truly respects and appreciates Mateo very much. He's one of her favourite people she's ever met. She adores him, and after he took care of her in a vulnerable moment, Penny's almost started looking at him as a father figure.
Joel Abernathy: He was nice and funny and flirty. Used to come into the bullet to flirt with her once a week. Until she propositioned him and he flipped on a dime, destroying her self confidence. Now she avoids him AT ALL COSTS, down to blocking him on socials.
