Happy pride month to the tiny cowboy and tiny Trojan man from Night at the Museum
This hands down the best comment in the notes, I will not be taking criticism.
OP you left out the best one
I live surrounded by English bogs… well shit
Being surrounded by English bogs is a good thing. Bogs often hold a lot of biodiversity like bugs, reptiles and birds. So many rare or threatened wildlife love bogs. Boggy areas also are often left its surrounding surfaces permeable which reduces the risk of flooding (And you'd better leave the bog as a bog. Reclaiming it is a bad idea in terms of flooding. The bog exists for a reason.)
Bog is like the wolves of Yellowstone. Leaving them as they are and observing them from a distance is great! But if you come close or disturb it, you face consequences. You are first greeted by ticks (Lyme's disease) and adders. Then you are faced with bombs and bodies. Only then do you realize you are lost. Your franctic screams for help do not rescue you from your fate of drowning. Your corpse will be laughed at, and you will be used for your stupidity as a cautionary tale. Those who try to convince you otherwise are affiliated with the Big Evil Bog Limited TM.
I'm sure @feyosha can comment on this further.
Stay the FUCK out of the bog
Setting aside, for a moment, the Kelpies, the Will-O-The-Wisp, the Boggarts, the Redcaps, the Pixies, the Leprechauns, the Kappa, the Banshees, the Salamanders, the Witches, the Trolls, and the many many other folkloric beasties one might encounter in such a place
It is a Mouth Of The Earth
Mires, both Bog & Fen, are peat-accumulating environments. They’re carbon sinks. They’re the spots on the earth where the Carbon returns to the Stone. In most biomes, Dying is simply a temporary form of transformation. The deceased becoming food for other living things, predators and scavengers and detrivores, within short order, biomass reorganized and set about into motion again through the endless alchemy of metabolism. Nothing on Earth stays dead for long, if you remove Ego and Identity from your framework.
But not in Bogs
Bogs keep their Dead
The water, acidic and oxygen poor, rich in bitter tannins and dissolved minerals, but poor in essential nutrients, acts as a natural preservative, preventing the usual nutrient recycling and upcycling found from the jungles to the poles everywhere that life usually flourishes. Those that live in the Bog live the drama of their lives out on top of a gradually accumulating crust of rotting biomass that can get deep enough to swallow a man whole if he steps in the wrong spot. Say, a spot with poor structure, held aloft by a hidden bubble of toxic, flammable methane gas, liberated from rotting carcasses below by methanogenic archaea.
The Bog will LITERALLY consume you
Stay the FUCK out of the Bog!

Reviving one of my oldest concepts
I've seen a couple people in here talk about the characters' designs so I might as well throw my hat in the ring.
I do agree the Gold artstyle is overall inferior and doesn't do much favors to the quirks and details these characters had pre-G&W, resulting in a good couple downgrades in their designs, but I will say that Penny is one of the couple major exceptions in this regard. My girl got a pretty big glow-up and I won't even pretend otherwise.
This ain't even to trash on Penny's classic design since it's still cute in its own right and I like the pink cone jacket, but the modern design just gives her so much more character. Not only the hairpin being bigger, but the messier hair far better conveys her impulsive and scatterbrained character traits on top of giving her a stronger silhouette, without really compromising the attributes her old design communicated nor tampering with details a lot like many Gold+ designs tend to do. I'm not really missing the old design too much as a result, even though I'd at least love the cone jacket to come back in some way as an alternate outfit or something.
As for the eye color... no comment. I'm good with either.

Little reminder that all Warioware characters technically still exist in the Mario canon
hey do you have a tumblr

Being in the TADC fandom post-Ep 5 made me finally understand what it must feel like to be a day 1 Hazbin fan who was extremely disappointed to see the full series doesn’t really follow the blueprint the pilot set up
whenever I see people saying Pomni turned into a pick-me and an enabler in the later episodes it’s just this meme
@beepborpdoodledorp I wouldn't say Pomni's a Pick-Me and enabler. She's trying to make friends with the people she's got in a strange and horrifying situation and doesn't want any of them to die or to leave them behind. Even the group jerk, after all, he's a person too in the same situation as her. She doesn't want to be responsible for hurting anyone the way she did Gummigoo and Ragatha - which she might see the latter in what Jax did since she was ALSO acting out of fear at the time. Possibly Gummigoo as well since she knows he lost a friend and at least feels guilty if not blames himself for it even if she doesn't know much about Ribbit. And she probably doesn't want to let people go without trying to help because she doesn't want people giving up on her if SHE was in Jax's situation. (Possibly also a way to prove both him and herself wrong about the things he said too.)
But she's never put down or shunned any of the others for Jax or gone out of her way to get validation from him (she asked Ragatha to be on her team first and going with Jax was meant to be taking one for the team. Even after the buttons she seemed to have no issue with him isolating himself as long as they could SEE him. The only time we really see her looking for Validation from him is their bonding during the gun game.) and she HAS even called him out twice in the past. The only reason she's not doing that NOW is she's more focused on making sure someone she still cares about doesn't die and probabky dealing with trying to survive herself since things are getting nuts and EVERYONE'S mental state is bad RN. They're kinda stuck in a bad situation where if they blow up and start fighting or focusing on the ways they've been hurt by eachother, either they or the other person could snap and die. Which is something none of the members want, even for JAX. Sure, he's an ass who's hurt them terribly, but he's one of the few people anyone in there has. He's still a person who doesn't deserve to die. What he did isn't the priority RN. They gotta make sure they all survive things collapsing around them first, THEN they can try and hash things out when things are more stable.
The only thing is I kinda wish she had noticed more about Ragatha struggling before Ep 8 but Ragatha does have tendency to mask and pretend she's fine, not wanting to burden others with her issues (pretty sure the only reason she told Kinger was they were alone and she COULDN'T hold back anymore after sitting there ruminating) has been doing it for far l and doesn't isolate as much as Jax, so her tells may not have been as obvious - particularly to someone as direct (and possibly autistic) as Pomni. I'vd kinda unfortunately been in those kinds of situations myself.
I do think she's perhaps a bit misguided on trying to help Jax, though. I don't think he WANTS to change, so trying to help him is an unobtainable goal, though I don't think POMNI knows it yet. I have a feeling she may be headed for a trolley problem of sorts between Jax and the others, including her own sanity. But I can't really blame the girl for at least TRYING. Especially in a place where these people are the only community you HAVE and the worst thing you can do is turn your back on someone and her already having been accidentally responsible for hurting two people she cared about already.
I think the main reason the pick-me and enabler accusations are valid or at least understandable are mainly from Ep 6 and Ep 8. Pomni called him out before, sure, but tried playing mediator when he was being an asshole to everyone else and only crashed out when his actions personally affected her and her relationship with him. Like I really cannot imagine being Ragatha or Gangle and having someone comfort me only to turn around and abruptly cozy up to the man who's been abusing me for years, and only distance themselves from him after he personally affected them. And of course there's the infamous 'we've all done bad things' line in Ep 8. I get wanting to see the best in people, especially in such a niche and terrible situation as the Circus, but that kinda brings me to the point I've made a few times before that the show has basically written itself into a corner. There's the message about connection and community and obviously Jax shouldn't have his back completely turned on while he's been on the verge of a suicidal breakdown the past two episodes, but consequently, Pomni comes off as very ethically questionable putting so much investment and second chances towards Jax when he's done nothing but hurt her and the people the show wants us to believe are her close friends.
@beepborpdoodledorp Well, Goose did say all the characters are morally grey, and even Gangle and Ragatha seem to still care about Jax after everything despite having distanced themselves. Ragatha wouldn't keep fighting him and still feel bad for "failing him" if she didn't. At least, they don't want him to die or want to risk dying THEMSELVES fighting with him. As much as she doesn't like Pomni bonding with Jax, I think Ragatha at least out of ANY of them would understand Pomni's desire to see good in him. For one, we know SHE used to be friends with him before he changed for the worse, and she constantly tries to see the best in everything and befriend everybody. She also saw Gummigoo get deleyed and how upset Pomni was about that and knows how stubborn she can be. As for Gangle...she probably sees alot of her Ep 4 self in Jax rn. I do kinda wish they talked about how Gangle feels about Pomni befriending Jax. But she is the one besides Jax to make it close to abstraction, which Pomni helped her out of. She did things she clearly regretted as Manager Gangle like snapping at Pomni and perhaps Jax's re-evaluation. She's got to at least SUSPECT something's wrong with him, and she knows Pomni was the one aside from Zooblr to notice (or at least reach out) to her when she was down. So if anyone would pick up on that, Pomni would. It's also possible considering Jax's issues with Gangle pulling away from him and his "We've been together for every team adventure in the past" line her and Jax may also have once been friends, but it's harder to say difiniteively than with Ragatha.
As for being the moderator...whether you want it or not, that's kind of what happens when you try to befriend everybody and don't want them fighting. Ragatha ends up in the same situation alot, and arguably is better at that role than Pomni is. (While good intentioned, the "We've all done bad things" IS kinda awkwardly worded. Then again, it makes sense for Pomni since we see how awkward she is in that position back in Ep 5 whereas Ragatha seems alot more comfortable keeping the peace in Ep 7.) And even Gangle was ALMOST the person saying "It's going to be ok" in Ep 7, which I'm kinda glad they changed since it does make more sense for Pomni to say and people would be even WORSE about Gangle saying that to him than they are Pomni. I'd say Pomni is more indecisive, stubborn, neutral, and trying to help abd make connections with EVERYONE and avoid conflict than a pick-me. Which is both her strength and flaw as a character. You do have a point in as empathetic and good intentioned as she is, alot of the problem with Pomni is she can be a bit too conflict avoidant, shortsighted, stubborn and perhaps curious and thrill seeking for her own good at times. Possibly a bit too willing to see the good in people. Probably why I relate to her. XD
I get where you're coming from but I'm KIND of wondering if that's part of the POINT? For one "No one is perfect, we all have the potential to do things that hurt eachother even with good intentions" is also a big theme here. We are talking about the same MC who understandably left a person in pain twice to save herself, and while maybe not on the same level as Jax, all the others have also done some hurtful things to eachother as well. But also like I said I'm wondering if we're headed for a trolley problem kind of situation. Part of the reason Pomni ends up being the moderator and trying so hard with Jax is she doesn't want to choose between her friends, she wants to help EVERYONE. Very much a "have your cake and eat it too" kind of person. And Choices, particularly between illusion and possibility or reality and humanity are ALSO big themes. Often symbolized by red and blue. Jax, in his nihilistic delusions and denial with the possibility of who he could be and what he and Pomni COULD have, is a good symbol for illusion. He even is mostly reddish in color with a hint of purple (red and blue.) Her connections with the others - particularly Ragatha who is mostly blue with a hint of red, are real and human. Even if things aren't totally easy, she does genuinely care about her and is willing to reach back and do better for her. And Pom, who's EQUALLY red and blue, is often put in conflict between the two like they're the angel and devil on her shoulder.
So far, she's remained fairly neutral, wanting to help both. But with Jax apparently doubling down next episode and possibly going Ted on his fellow prisoners somehow or whatever unforgivable thing he still has yet to do...it's possible Pomni may have to choose between the possibility of helping Jax and the reality of the connections with the others. Reality vs Illuion, Red vs blue. She could keep trying to help Jax and possibly lose the others and herself in the process. Or she can let Jax go, hang on to who she has and keep her sanity. Neither choice is nessecarily morally good or bad. Either way she ends up losing SOMETHING and trying to help someone else. Either way she kinda ends up deciding who lives and who dies and leaving someone behind, which she doesn't want to do. But it would explain ALOT of things and would be a satisfying if bittersweet way to end things.
I really feel like this fanbase doesn’t give Caine’s writing enough credit. Sympathetic antagonists can so often fall too extremely on either side where either their crimes seem downplayed for pity points or they’re so evil you forget they were intended to be sympathetic in the first place and Caine somehow strikes this balance perfectly. He’s simultaneously a neglected child desperately crying out for attention, an artist going through a crippling amount of burnout and a megalomaniacal tyrant who needs to satiate his bruised ego at every opportunity but none of those traits ever feel like they contradict each other despite how drastically different they seem on the surface. And though he definitely is victim to bad faith interpretations I feel like him being as divisive as he is is overall a showcase of how good his writing is because neither loving him or loathing him feel like ‘wrong’ options, because it’s so easy to feel both towards him. He’s wretched and incredibly frustrating to watch. He is also immensely pitiable and tragic.
They are back again and about time too
