Now that orders have started arriving, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has shared my post and/or who has ordered so far. It means so much to me, and I'm so happy to be able to share these Kyoshi goodies and have people enjoy them! <3

a bit of avatar kyoshi lore!

The avatar’s appearance in the spirit world is based on how they see themselves or remember themselves. Kyoshi in the novels had no scars and wore no gloves. Kuruk was still physically strong and not sick. This is how they saw or remembered themselves.

Meaning Roku just sees and thinks of himself as an old man.

Like no other avatar we have seen sees themselves like this. Sure 1 or 2 others have gray hair but none of them are old like Roku lol.

Anyone ever notice that the Kyoshi warrior’s armour looks similar to Rangi’s or the firenations more so anything else Earth Kingdom? They got the pauldrons we don't see on Earth Kingdom spoilers (or earth kingdom anything). Where their armour, especially the pauldrons/chest piece resembles Rangi's book illustrations, just smaller.

The Kyoshi Warriors are just a mix of Kyoshi and Rangi and you cant change my mind.

Not sure if anyone brought this up before but I remember being confused and seeing confusion around the official Father Glowworm design from what was described in the book.

Originally we see Father Glowwarm as a glowing eyeball the size of a wagon wheel, with a web of pulsating veins with human teeth throughout them. This is very different from the official look we are given of a giant glowworm-like creature with many wispy tendrils of ooze, giving him an appearance that better matches the “glowworm” name.  The only similarity between the book and official look, being the giant eye ball. 

When we 1st meet Father Glowworm, we are introduced to him as a powerful and old spirit that fought many avatars. He strikes fear in both Kyoshi and Yun, 2 people who have no real experience with spirits. Yet he doesn't leave his cave, only extending his tendrils out to test them. Even when he goes in for the attack his body doesn't leave, and Jianzhu is able to deter him with one move before he retreats back into his hole with Yun in tow.

When we meet him again in the 2nd book with his battle against Yun we are given more insight to the spirit. He's the size of a wagon wheel but when he gets hurt he becomes smaller and weaker. He is described as sticking near the vegetation and landscape to protect his eye (himself), in a way that seems like someone who lost their armour/protection. Near the end of the fight he becomes the size of a calabash before deciding the fight isn't worth the effort and instead offers Yun a deal. Hes then ticked by Yun by going out into the open, where he's finally defeated and reduced to the size of a normal eyeball, before being consumed.

In Kuruk’s memories we are never given a description of his appearance. We just know that he is larger than we saw him originally, more confident and aggressive, not cowering in the vegetation or landscape like we saw him before. As their battle goes on, he is described as losing a lot of size and power before fleeing.

Father Glowworm went from a formidably powerful spirit who fought toe to toe against Avatas to a spirit nowhere near his original size or power, who acts like a creature that needs to hide due to its lack of armour. He was injured beyond repair like Kuruk, and was now weak enough to be defeated by a normal human.

The version we are shown in the official character encyclopedia and games is the version that Kuruk fought and defeated. The version in the book is his smaller and weakened form.

This was just a lot of rambling to get my thoughts across between the 2 drastic appearances we have between the character.
