I know the mcu isn’t as well beloved as before but I very unapologeticly love the Tony stark and Peter Parker father and son dynamic okay.. I don’t care that it’s not comic accurate or not completely true to the characters! that moment in endgame when Peter goes up to Tony and starts rambling and Tony cuts him off by hugging him with the most relieved expression on his face??? Devastating. Never recovered.

even from a platonic standpoint(to me they were in love but everyone is allowed to think what they like (but they were in love(I swear))) Steve leaving Bucky, his best friend since childhood who he was always been there for and who is the only person with remotely the same life experience, for a girl he knew for like a year is so fucking depressing like he fully gave up on Bucky and that feels so out of character but it’s somehow canon????

wait actually. yanno how when people complain about endgame steve leaving bucky and the dudebros go “oh my god not everything is about your stupid ship they were not in love steve and bucky were like brothers” and. arguably leaving your brother is worse in that situation i think. let’s look at steve and buckys whole dynamic through a sibling dynamic shall we.

like okay youre steve rogers in this scenario and your brother was presumed dead only for you to find out that he had been kidnapped by nazis and tortured and brainwashed for 70 years to the point where he didn’t even know his own name and had no bodily autonomy and when you found out about this you dismantled an entire sect of the government and then you’re brother in his confused state disappeared and you spent 2-3 years looking for him and then he was framed for murder and you believed him innocent despite the fact that he was an assassin for those 70 years when he was being tortured by nazis and maybe actually did do that for all you know but you fight the government (again) and a bunch of your new friends on his behalf and in doing so become a fugitive and spend another year(ish) on the run and then world gets attacked by this fuckass alien freak and you and you’re brother who is finally (mostly) himself again join the fight against the fuckass alien freak and you lose and your brother gets turned to dust and is dead for 5 years and so you join up with the friends who you had a falling out with to bring back all of the people who died and you succeed and your brother comes back to life and while he is much better than he was when you found him 4 (9?) years ago he is still fucked up in 15 different ways but you finally get the chance to actually be with your brother again after so long so that’s good right? wrong. you decide to leave that brother who you spent years trying to find and became a fugitive for to go back in time (a time where your brother is getting tortured by nazis and you can’t do anything to stop it because it will like break the timeline or whatever) to be with the girl you kissed once. like are you kidding me. who in their goddamn right mind would leave their sibling after all that. the answer is you wouldn’t and steve’s ending is stupid.

The hesitation to pat Peter’s shoulder in that third gif, though. Tony likely never experienced any paternal love from Howard when he was growing up (“He never told me he loved me. Never even told me he liked me.”) Expressing his emotions and showing support through physical interaction (like patting someone’s shoulder, hugging, etc) is kind of foreign to Tony because he was mostly deprived of it as a child by his own father (someone he needed to be loved by the most - besides Maria, of course). He can’t easily express himself openly with just anybody. He has a lot of walls built up. It would have taken him a long ass time to get completely comfortable with Rhodey, Pepper, and even Happy.

He’s cognisant of the fact that love and support was something he never received from his own father, and that he’s carried those issues over in a lot of his current relationships, but he genuinely wants to break out of that cycle. So his willingness to, I guess, break down his own walls in order to try and make sure Peter doesnt feel the same way he did as a child speaks volumes about his development and just how big his heart (that he often keeps guarded) is.

He may act cool and aloof to distance himself from others, but he actually does care - a lot. He just doesn’t always know how to show it.

something about how when rayla says "i don't want to hurt you" she then empathizes ("i know you're in pain" 6x05) vs when claudia says it she then threatens ("i didn't want to hurt your baby! don't make me use dark magic!" 6x03) even when they're both in life-or-death situations. something about how at the very end rayla is prepared to sacrifice who she is ("my heart for xadia") vs claudia trying to convince herself that she's the same ("i'm still nice!")

what I also love about this scene is that Callum asks for permission before putting the scarf over Rayla’s eyes. I feel like not everyone would do that; some would just be like “hey I have a surprise for you” *blindfolds*

but instead, Callum asks. He makes sure that Rayla feels perfectly safe around him before he does anything. It’s so small, and I could be overthinking, but it makes me very happy
