That, weirdly enough, was basically Peter's norm these days. But because something about the whole stubbornly walking headfirst into a terrible plan rang way too familiar. Huh, so that's what he looked like when he did it? No wonder everyone was always so annoyed with him...

"Woah, woah, woah — okay!" Peter scrambled to catch up with her as Kara was already walking off with purpose. "Yeah, totally on board. Happy to help. But, uh, come on! Peter sighed heavily because he'd worn that look she had enough times to know he was wasting his breath, "Great. Freakin' fantastic. Fine. Maxine is silent after she listens to him say that. Is the world really messed up forever? She doesn’t really know. She has had a messed up life. She had a mother who was too afraid of her husband to stop him from enforcing his religious ideals onto their daughter. A father who was a religious zealot that was borderline abusive at times that eventually ended up being a cult leader and a serial killer. She ran off at eighteen and became a stripper. She attempted to make a porn movie with her friends but ended up having to survive a sexual serial killer. She was the only one to survive too. Not to mention that she was the one to kill her father. To say that Maxine has been dealt a shitty hand of cards is an understatement.

That was until her career in Hollywood took off. She’s an icon now, specifically in horror. She didn’t just get famous off of the genre, she loves playing different characters. She always goes for the lead, whether she plays a hero or a villain. She never goes for side characters roles. She’s worked too hard to be a side character. She has even starred in a film that is based off of what her dad tried to do to her. That’s fucked up, sure, but someone else was going to be in the role of she didn’t take it. She might as well capitalize on it.
