"It was no problem at all. It was something that came naturally, she was a woman very worthy of the ultimate respect. Even surrounded by men that went to war and were involved with politics, she was still the queen of them," she laughed.

Once again, she was amazed at how fast he could change his way of speech as well as his personality. It was frankly scary, really. Was this some kind of variation of 'split personality' she once heard? Probably not. Still, she had to make sure she didn't bring up the wrong topics and let the cold persona emerge again.

"Courting? I never expected you to be that kind of man, Lord Sima Gan." She raised an eyebrow. "Indeed, some women are complicated. It depends on how you approach it."

“Eh? Lady Wang~! You are adorable~” Slurred a very drunk Sima Gan as he leaned over her with a grin.

The blonde looked over to the source of the sound and was startled to see Lord Sima Gan in such a drunk state. A small tint of invisible pink dusted her fair cheeks as she widened her eyes and looked him head to toe.

"Lord Sima Gan… Have you had one too many to drink…?" She looked up.

The man stepped back, or rather stumbled (very ungracefully) to give her some space though whether it was out of conscience or an accident was questionable.

"I’m not drunk" He denied, pouting rather childishly at her before he burst into laughter, brushing a hand through his unruly dark curls. "Maybe I had more than a little" He added afterwards, smiling at her.

"Why do you call me Lord, Lady Wang? I don’t have… official standing" He sounded very confused about the way his words drifted off into each other and he laughed again. "Have you seen Liang?" He asked randomly, his intoxicated mind unable to focus on one topic at a time.

She was slightly relieved that there was more distance between them. After all, a drunk man was indeed dangerous, regardless of who he was.

"Lord Sima Gan, I think it's best that that you return to your quarters. It's only midday, and you're already drunk," she nagged. She was content that Zhao hardly got drunk. At least he didn't really, since she would hit him silly if he did and fooled around even more.

"I call you lord, because I respect you. You don't need official standing to gain respect. Liang? No, I don't think I've seen him today." She was surprised at his sudden change of behaviour but brushed it away. "I think you should really head back to your quarters. You may get hurt," she said, a look of worry plastered across her face.

"Yes... She did. She seemed like a second mother to me, really," Yuanji said, her voice as delicate as silk as she reminisced the days when she was alive and abusive to everyone, even her husband Lord Sima Yi, in which he complained often, of course.

She finally realised his smile had vanished as a more... Ominous expression took over his facial features, which scared her so. "I see... I don't think I should press this topic further, Lord Sima Gan." His aura had began to change, she was afraid that another person would emerge. What's more, she didn't want to make him feel any more uncomfortable to think about the past.

"So, where have you been all this while?" She asked, trying to sound a bit more chirpy in order to lighten the depressive mood.
