My friend suggested I post about Scripture the Saturniid, and I thought, "Hey while I'm here I oughta include his mysterious counterpart as well yeah?" So here's a bit of a double feature!
Dahy Scripture wasn't always the fastest thing (besides the occasional meteor) on Saturnia. From a young age he prepared to enter the same field as his parents, doing archival work in the vast underground libraries of the Moonlight Kingdom. He didn't often see the sky, spending the majority of his time training with the other acolytes.
A group of friends snuck him out on his 13th birthday to explore around the surface; not wanting the be caught slacking off in the city, they snuck towards the outskirts of town. There the barrier protecting the last standing city of Saturnia thinned out. Dahy was struck by a particularly powerful meteor, his friends having to drag him back to the city.
After months in the hospital and even more in recovery, Dahy was back to his training, mostly relegated to easy inter-department deliveries. What was meant to be a quick run to the next wing of the library turned out to be an speed of sound dash from one end of the city's underground to the other. Something from the meteor finally kicked in!
In light of his new power, Scripture was reassigned to work more closely with palace staff. For the next two years he helped with time sensitive matters, as well as training with the Prince to prepare their ruler for a future conflict. During this, he and Strangeways didn't necessarily become close, but he was certainly more in tune with the Prince than anyone else in the kingdom.
Not long after Strangeways disappeared with the remaining shards of the Radiant Star, Scripture was sent through the portal after him in order to make him come home.
Dahy's quite scared in this new world -- the day is bright, the sky is too open, and everyone here is probably going to tear him to pieces once they figure out he's an alien. This Sucks!!!!!
this is someone from Velvet's past. kind of like a little brother, mostly a friend they held close. he's strikingly similar to scripture, which leads to an awkward first encounter between the two. it has been quite a while since they've seen him. they miss him so much it hurts. they think they're staring to forget his face, despite all the photos of them together. velvet thinks old wounds are being torn open, but maybe they never closed in the first place.
