Perfect Person "In Progress"

We are all striving for perfection: the perfect man, the perfect friends, perfect emotional self-control--the perfect life. Perhaps so many people are unhappy because 'perfection' is not achievable, and they chase a goal that is always out of reach. That does not mean we each should not want to chase those things we define as "perfect", what will complete us. Maybe all we can be are perfect people "in progress", and maybe that will be enough and perfect in itself.

Dale Hansen is a fucking treasure.  He admitted he was a childhood victim of sexual abuse in the hopes that it would encourage others to come forward and seek help. He has been an ardent supporter of scholar-athletes and of gay players in the NFL and of trans athletes.
