Care Scarves - Not just a Head Scarf.

When we originally designed our head scarves we had many uses in mind. While many cancer patients look for a scarf to protect their head following hair loss, there are other women who undergo surgeries that require them to have bandages that cover from the chest almost up to the neck.  Our mom was one such woman.  

Ever the stylish lady, she needed a variety of scarves to tie around her neck that wouldn’t be too large or cumbersome - she wanted to feel comfortable wearing them indoors and out.  So when we designed our Care Scarves we made them 32″ square - just the right size to wear on the head or around the neck.

This past year we have expanded our product offerings to include a new line of Head Scarves we affectionately call "Care Scarves". These beautiful little scarves evolved from a life experience that has been both humbling and inspirational.

Many years ago our lovely mother was diagnosed with Cancer. She has bravely fought her way through various forms of treatments and continues to do so today. Through her journey we have met several other women who have battled this disease and realized how diverse their needs were when it came to health, healing and personal care. It is from this that our "Care Scarves" evolved.

Don't Wish for It, Work for It.

It is my firm belief that any success I have in this lifetime will be the result of hard work.  If you look at anyone who is reaching their goals, it isn’t because of luck.  They have worked for it, chased after and focused on what they want.  It didn’t come easy, although it may look that way from the outside.

People who are happy are so because they make a point of seeing the good, not the bad.  People who are fit haven’t sat on the couch day in and day out talking about how they wish they were healthier; they have gotten up and moved.  People who have success in their careers put in the time to study their profession, worked longer hours to learn more than the rest and have been open to evolving how they do what they do, instead of simply doing things a certain way “because that’s how it’s always been done.” It’s simple, if you want something, stop wishing for it and start working for it.  It won’t be easy, but it’ll be worth it.

Don't Sacrifice Style for Comfort

In the summer time I often find myself gravitating towards more causal styles when getting dressed - hot weather often calls for lighter clothing ... but then I must remind myself that it's important to dress appropriately for the occassion - shorts shouldn't be worn everywhere, lol.  Whether you are going to work, a summer wedding or having dinner with friends, you should always dress for the occassion - not only to make yourself feel good but to make your company feel like they were vaulable enough for you to dress up for (trust me, when you arrive you'll feel better wearing the right outfit instead of being underdressed).  

Remember - style doesn't mean you are sacrificing comfort.  Our dresses are made to be extremly comfortable and our summer styles are very lightweight.  Give them a try, you'll be glad you did ;).

Are You Ready to Change?

Are you ready to change when the circumstances demand it?  Change is inevitable in our world and it’s not easy.  We all get comfortable in the way we live and like to be in control of how our lives evolve but it’s not always possible to make things flow the way you want.  I think one of the reasons we dislike change is because of the uncertainty that comes with it.  It can cause self-doubt, resulting in a sudden (and hopefully temporary) drop in our self-confidence.   Some people try to resist it; they dig their heels in and refuse to accept their new reality as if it will make a difference. It won’t.  The only thing you can do is move forward.  Find a way to work with your new situation.  Believe in your ability to create something new (and quite possibly better) with the way things are now.  Convince yourself that you can and will adapt and you’ll be back in the proverbial “driver’s seat” of your life.  

I have always loved the saying “when one door closes, another one opens”.  It’s a good motto to live by.  So when your life suddenly changes you can wait for that next door to open – or you can take control when that door closes and smash down the wall next to it.
