In such a challenging world climate, there are some days that still feel heavy. I feel my mind drifting more often. My body tired more often. My attention span shortening. When darkness comes knocking we can’t let it drown out the bigger picture of God’s intention and hope for his people. We have to commit our minds and our purpose to his if we are going to be a light in the darkness.

Catching up

Hey friends, it’s been quite a long time since I’ve been back on here, but in contemplation and desire to organize my life once more around things that bring joy and wisdom, I’m back! 

It’s been a wild few years, I’ve moved to Nashville - gotten married - almost finished a second degree in biblical studies in preparation for development work in the Philippines. The Lord has been SO faithful as I continue to press into him.

When you realize that you are unrivalled in the eyes of Christ, and that when He looks at you, He’s not comparing you to anyone else… you learn not to compare yourself to anyone else. How could you? They too are unrivalled and are not meant to be put into a box of have or have not. That’s the freeing part, when you are rooted in the love of Christ, you’re not just free from comparison. Other people are too.

Worry keeps us bound to the what-ifs; it cripples our ability to trust one another and God. It is a fear that things won't work out the way we want them to. God asks us to have faith for a reason, he tells us to yield our anxieties to him and focus on what is true and honorable because He knew that our minds can dictate our actions. If we worry it affects the outflow of who we are; do we want to be characterized by fear or insecurity? I know I don't. Have faith that things can and will be good - have faith that God can handle your anxieties. Be a person that chooses truth and joy, because that choice will write itself on your heart as you strive to live it out. Philippians 4:6-9
