It's sad whenever I see young sapphics that are clearly struggling with internalized misogyny and lesbophobia/biphobia, as well as trying to fit into fandom spaces where cis male characters are overwhelmingly centered and celebrated, have to justify their love for certain female characters and ships, often times also making it clear they still prefer the more popular male characters in that fandom.

This is one of the reasons why I think people, particularly "older" fans, should be more unapologetic about their love for female and/or sapphic characters. You don't owe fandoms or society an explanation for relating to them and/or, god forbid, liking them more than the male faves.
