so sorry if this is a stupid question! but what is a self-para? how does it differ from a headcanon?
there are no stupid questions! a self-para is a piece written by you that focuses on your character and typically depicts a specific scenario or moment involving your muse. it differs from a headcanon in the way it's written. while a headcanon may share details about your muse’s experiences, thoughts, or behavior, it shouldn’t depict a full scene the way a self-para would.
for example, writing headcanons about your muse's trainee period likely would span their entire period trainee period, and might broadly describe their daily routine, relationships with other trainees, strengths, struggles, and/or how they felt about being a trainee. a self-para about the same topic would instead focus on one specific moment from that period and be written from the muse’s perspective, such as the muse perparing for their final evaluation or the moment they were informed they were in the final lineup.
if the difference is still unclear, please let us know!

LEADER, LEAD DANCER, LEAD VOCALIST of RIIOT.

birthday: november 16, 2001
hometown: jinzhou, china
position: leader, lead dancer, lead vocalist of riiot

BIOGRAPHY
content / trigger warnings: parental neglect
renyu was born to an actor and his third wife, an up and coming actress half his age. with only three older half siblings from wives one and two who were all over a decade older than renyu it meant that renyu was effectively an only child growing up. he grew used to the flash of tabloid cameras at a young age.
he went to an international school, where he was encouraged to speak mostly english. he had acting lessons, dance lessons, violin lessons, singing lessons, kung fu and wushu lessons. anything he desired and many things that he really didn’t. but still his childhood was a lonely and cold experience marked mostly by the absence of both his mother and father. renyu grew to never expect his parents to show up to the many recitals and competitions for his various lessons, that was a position filled by his maternal grandparents.
they provided him the warmth and familial love that was missing from both his siblings and his parents. and it was them rather than his mother that renyu turned to in the wake of his parents divorce and his father’s subsequent fourth marriage. it was also his grandparents who agreed to take renyu to an audition for a korean entertainment when he expressed interest in it.
renyu felt mostly relief when he moved from china to south korea to start training at thirteen. he trained for years at his original label but nothing ever seemed to materialize in terms of a debut. renyu hated the thought of going back home to china so he stuck it out for five long years until he was about ready to give up. and then he happened to stumble across a scout who invited him to join dsn.
renyu wasn’t expecting to be almost immediately funneled into a possible debut group but that’s what happened. perhaps it was luck initially that landed him there. but it was perseverance that kept him there until the promised debut started to become something solid.
and then renyu was named the leader of the group. it felt like a lot of weight was suddenly added onto his back. renyu knew that being a foreigner would bring more scrutiny on him so he did his best to run a tight ship. he gained a bit of a reputation for being a hardass but it provided results and renyu was harder on himself than he was anyone else in the group.
PUBLIC IMAGE
ren is known for being an uncompromising leader who’s very strict in his standards. fans often comment about how when ren goes into leader mode he can be quite intense almost bordering on scary. this image works both for and against ren. for those who already like him his exacting standards and strictness are a reason why riiot is so good in every performance. but for antis it’s proof that ren is a bully an unnecessarily mean to his groupmates. exactly how his intensity lands depends almost entirely on how much he’s liked at the moment.
for most of his career ren has teetered between likeable and unlikeable. it’s undeniable that ren has a lot of charm and knows exactly how to play to the cameras. he’s one of the few dsn idols who tends to have a near pr ready response for most circumstances which either gets him praised for his professionalism or accused of being fake depending on how much he’s liked at the moment. it’s also fairly plain to see that ren pushes his group pretty hard and even more obvious that ren pushes himself even harder than that. the result is a fanbase that never quite knows how to feel about ren. he is a figure that you will rarely hear the same opinion on from different people.
in recent times ren has started to lighten up a little and let his figurative hair down. his fans have enjoyed seeing the more playful side of ren and comment that he’s actually quite cute when he’s feeling more silly. those who never really liked ren tend to think that it’s a coordinated campaign from dsn to soften ren’s image a bit and make him more likeable to the fans.

timid.
that’s how kyung-hee would describe most of her life, a child who was a mistake. her presence in life wasn’t the most welcome and that was putting it nicely when it came to her family. her family were well-off, they weren’t hurting for money. enough money that her father could carry on affairs without his wife questioning anything. he always a drew a line but kyung-hee mother, she was different. she managed to worm her way into his a little pocket in his heart without much effort. not that she was too attached to him but the money he had. unexpected and unexpectedly useful, how’s she was seen by her mother at least. she managed to weasel more and her father was desperate to keep his secret’s secret. before, kyunghee had only met her father twice in her life, blurry memories until her mom decided she was tired of being tied down with a child.
a meeting with the woman would become her step-mother, one threat and one final large payout. her life shifted from gwanggu to seoul at the tender age of five. from an indifferent home to an even colder one. it didn’t take to get a general understanding growing up once she stopped crying from her mom. a bastard, an affair child, unwanted. no one cared about the harm they caused because it was physical. there was no love, she never lacked anything. by age ten what wasn’t said out-loud was understood simply enough. she was lucky, she should be grateful. the warmth didn’t belong to her, the love didn’t belong to her, stay quiet and out of the way. don’t cause trouble and don’t want more. still, it wasn’t long before kyunghee had returned to gwanggu.
an offer to go live with her aunt and uncle and she took it, pretending she couldn’t see the quiet relief in the eyes of her family. her timid nature never left her but she did gain a home. a real home. she gained a mother and a father, siblings in the forms of her cousins. though that lingering feeling never felt, that she should be grateful so kyunghee wanted to become perfect. she offered to do more chores, she got the perfect grades, wanting to constantly prove that she belonged. and maybe, just maybe, either of her parents would hear word and want her.
and in the background of it all, was her budding love for the stage. it started with her following her friends to dance classes, a people pleaser, wanting to be liked for anything. if they joined something, she would to. at first kyunghee was content to exist on the side-lines record the videos, help with the outfits until one day she was caught practicing alone. it wasn’t that she never wanted to try it but she was scared of failing. with encouragement from a few of the other dancers, she started to become more than a girl on the side-lines.
foundation being built step by step until kyunghee knew she wanted to be an idol. she could still remember the fear of asking her aunt and uncle if she could start auditions, sitting down and making a plan of how she would continue with her grades to show how serious she was. then came the acceptance and her aunt and uncle being willing to move back to seoul to help her support her dreams.
thus, started her life as a dsn trainee after joining one failed, shady, no named company. and then her debut. she remembered inviting her dad to her their showcase, she could remember the internal disappointment when he didn’t show up but her family was there.
and now, she finds herself on her second contract with the company. a brighter out-look than most. while prism didn’t do the number of their rookie years, she also felt they had a stability, as long as she had the chance to continue to stay on stage, to release music and perform they didn’t need to top the charts.
along with the quiet hope that maybe one day, one day her parents would turn back and look at her.
PUBLIC IMAGE
kyunghee is seen as a the good girl, if they’re speaking lightly or the boring member if someone wants to speak rudely. she’s not a member that gets hate nor does she receive the most amount of love in the group. die-hard fans of kyunghee say that if you watch more of their content and pay attention to her to, she’s fun and silly but the niche fans within the fandom. her more studious and serious nature carried over into her idol life. the awkwardness in certain interactions can be seen when she’s not with her members even late into their career. one thing that is agreed on is that she truly shines when performing on stage but disappears when she is off of it.
and maybe because of the company’s scandal and past dealings, they were okay with pushing this ‘good girl, hardworking girl image. in a company full of unique and free personalities, hers while dimmer was hers. it has helped that she’s become more known for having a direct hand in her groups sound and dance style. to her fans, she is a the sweet member. the one who silently cleans up after the members during lives or on their group variety shows. to to the media, kyunghee isn’t anything to write home about until the company has a new release and they sparse the credits to see if her name would pop up, used as a foil against the wilder idols, including those in group. to the industry, maybe where matters the most, she is a hard-working girl, one who bows at staff, helps behind the scenes and doesn’t give them grief.
no one thinks she will be the next variety star, an household name that everyone remembers but some do bet that given her talent and steadfastness, she’d at least carve out a comfortable place in the industry to keep herself steady.

legal name: joo youngjae
stage name:
pronouns: he/him
birthday: december 31, 1994
hometown: daegu, south korea
position: leader, main rapper of axis
career claims: career page
BIOGRAPHY
content / trigger warnings: please include any potential triggers that appear.
youngjae was born on december 31, 1994, in daegu, south korea, as the eldest of three siblings. from a young age, he was drawn to the spotlight, harboring dreams of performing that never wavered. his parents, recognizing his passion, were unwavering in their support, encouraging him to pursue dance and vocal training early on. youngjae threw himself into his craft, driven by a fire that burned brighter than most. his determination was unshakable, and it was this same intensity that caught the attention of apex entertainment. scouted and auditioned, he entered the company as a trainee, where he not only honed his skills but also learned to rap—a talent that would later define his career.
the path to debut was far from smooth. originally slated to be part of an all-hip-hop group, youngjae watched as the company shifted its vision, transforming axis into an idol group. many trainees left, disheartened by the change, but youngjae refused to walk away. he was one of the few who stayed, weathering the uncertainty and rebuilding the group from the ground up. his resilience during this period was a testament to his character: stubborn, hungry, and unafraid to fight for what he believed in. yet, beneath the arrogance of his youth lay a deep love for music and a desire to prove himself. as the leader and main rapper of axis, youngjae took on a role that demanded more than just talent. he became a hands-on force in the group’s creative process, immersing himself in production, songwriting, and composing. his leadership style was strict, born from a perfectionist’s mindset, but it was also rooted in care.
over the years, the brashness of his younger self has mellowed, replaced by a quieter confidence and self-awareness. he remains a perfectionist, but now with a self-effacing humor that endears him to those who know him well. despite axis’s success, youngjae has never been entirely at peace with the group’s direction. the compromises of the industry weigh on him, and while he continues to pour his heart into axis, he has also carved out a space for himself outside of it. currently, he is deeply involved in solo music production and writing for other artists, channels where he can express his artistic vision without constraint. his journey is one of contrasts: the fire of his youth tempered by experience, the strict leader softened by introspection, and the idol who never stopped being an artist at heart.
PUBLIC IMAGE
youngjae’s public image is a study in contrasts—a carefully crafted facade that has cracked more than once under the weight of his own complexity. initially marketed as axis’s sensitive, introspective leader, the man behind the image was anything but. in his earlier years, he was the industry’s quintessential bad boy: reckless, unapologetic, and magnetic in a way that drew as much criticism as it did admiration. the company may have tried to soften his edges, painting him as the thoughtful, mature figurehead of the group, but the public saw through it. fans adored his raw charisma, while critics labeled him a loose cannon, a talent wasted on arrogance. the dating scandals that periodically surfaced only fueled the narrative, and whispers of his temper and clashes with staff only added to the intrigue—though none were ever confirmed—each one a reminder that youngjae played by his own rules, even as axis’s rising star demanded he conform.
yet, for all the controversy, none of it ever truly derailed him. if anything, the scandals became part of his allure. the media couldn’t decide whether to chastise him or celebrate him, and so they did both. to some, he was the group’s backbone, the driving force behind axis’s creative direction, a leader who demanded excellence from himself and his members. to others, he was a contradiction—a man who preached discipline yet couldn’t resist the chaos of his own making. the industry, ever forgiving of talent, allowed him to thrive despite it all, though the whispers never fully faded. now, as axis’s image has shifted and evolved, so too has the public’s perception of youngjae. he’s no longer the reckless young idol, but the scars of his past remain. the polarizing figure persists: a leader who is both revered and questioned, a man whose sensitivity is as undeniable as his stubbornness.
MAIN DANCER, VOCALIST, RAPPER, MAKNAE of ORIGIN.
KH ENTERTAINMENT.
CHARACTER INFORMATION
faceclaim: sohn youngjae (eric), the boyz
legal name: lim janghyuk

birthday: february 28, 2001
hometown: austin, texas, usa
position: main dancer, vocalist, rapper, maknae of origin

BIOGRAPHY
content / trigger warnings: none.
janghyuk, better known by his stage name rose, was born on february 28, 2001, in austin, texas, as the only child in his family. from the moment he could walk, it was clear that performing was in his blood. his parents, recognizing his boundless energy and natural talent, often captured him singing, dancing, playing musical instruments, and even acting in short skits—all of which they proudly uploaded to his personal youtube account. these videos weren’t just a hobby; they were the first glimpses of a child who dreamed of nothing less than the spotlight. that dream only grew stronger when his family moved back to korea during his middle school years, where he first learned of kh entertainment’s auditions. without hesitation, he threw himself into the opportunity, determined to turn his childhood passion into a reality.
as a trainee, janghyuk was a force to be reckoned with. his competitive spirit was unmatched, and he often butted heads with his peers, unwilling to settle for anything less than excellence. yet, for all his intensity during training, he was never one to hold a grudge. outside of the practice room, he was the life of the party—a social butterfly with an infectious laugh, always ready with a joke or a playful tease. his ability to balance fierce ambition with warmth made him both a formidable trainee and a beloved friend. when he debuted as the maknae of origin, his network only expanded. fellow idols, staff, and fans alike were drawn to his magnetic personality, and he thrived in the camaraderie of the industry.
on stage, janghyuk is a whirlwind of energy. his performances are electric, each movement and note delivered with a precision that belies his youth. but his talents don’t stop at music. acting, too, has become a passion, and he’s never one to shy away from complex roles that challenge him. whether he’s commanding the stage with origin or immersing himself in a dramatic role, his dedication to his craft is undeniable. there’s a joy in his work that’s impossible to ignore, a spark that reminds everyone why he fell in love with performing in the first place. even now, as he continues to grow as an artist, that spark hasn’t dimmed. if anything, it burns brighter, fueled by the same dreams that once filled his childhood youtube videos.
PUBLIC IMAGE
rose, is the epitome of the “golden maknae”—a title he wears not just because of his position as origin’s youngest, but because he embodies the rare trifecta of talent, charisma, and versatility. on the surface, he fits the typical maknae mold: the adorable, energetic member who lights up the stage with his youthful charm and infectious smile. kh etertainment has leaned into this image, marketing him as the group’s sunny, approachable face, the one who can effortlessly switch from playful antics in variety shows to heartfelt moments in interviews.
but to call him just a maknae would be a disservice. rose is origin’s ace, the all-rounder who can dance, sing, rap, and act with a level of skill that leaves audiences in awe. fans and critics alike have taken notice. while many idols are boxed into specific roles, rose has refused to be typecast, both as a performer and as an actor. his forays into acting have been met with praise for his ability to tackle complex, multidimensional characters, proving that his talents extend far beyond the confines of a typical idol’s career. the media often highlights his work ethic and his refusal to rest on his laurels, painting him as a young artist who is as ambitious as he is talented. this has only endeared him further to nexus, who proudly champion him as the group’s secret weapon—a member who can do it all without losing the warmth and authenticity that make him so beloved.
the industry, too, has taken note of his star power. while some maknaes struggle to be seen as more than just the “cute one,” rose has managed to carve out a reputation as a performer who can hold his own in any arena. his stage presence is electric, his vocals and rap skills undeniable, and his acting chops increasingly hard to ignore. yet, for all his accomplishments, there’s a humility to him that keeps him grounded. he’s the golden maknae not just because of what he can do, but because of who he is—a talent who never forgets to connect with the people who support him.
one more thing we forgot to mention earlier.
over the past week, we've been keeping an eye on the dash and wanted to give everyone a small reminder about reaching out to new members and muses and interacting with them. we potentially may not have new muses join us this week, but we'd still like everyone to keep this in mind moving forward.
we don't expect everyone to be available for in-depth plotting immediately after acceptances every friday. what we do ask is that, when you follow a new muse, you take a moment to send them a welcome message as well. it's a small gesture that can go a long way for new members, especially those who may be getting off to a slower start and may not have their intro up that same night.
please like this post once you've finished reading it so that we know you've seen it. thank you!
the main has been a little quieter than usual while we've been working on a number of things behind the scenes, so we wanted to share a quick preview of what you can expect over the next week or two.
first and foremost, part two of our current event will be posted this weekend! we've been enjoying seeing everyone's take on the first half, and can't wait to see what unfolds with the second half.
secondly, we're also preparing to finally open the point shop this weekend. the full point shop won't be available right away, as we're still working out waiting periods and point amounts for a few categories, but we figured we could open the sectiond we'd settled on. after the point shop opens, we'll also be posting available career opportunities for canon claims, like music production and choreography for any of the quarter three release.
last but not least, we're also planning on adding more information to the group pages. we're still figuring out formatting and exactly what will be added for each group, so we can't tell you what the additional information would be just yet. this will likely be rolled out over the next month since this is lower on our priority list of things we want to implement.
that being said, we may reach out to members in the meantime as we're figuring out what to add to the pages. outside of wonder, our current plan is to not make any major changes to any of the group histories. however, if we do end up considering a change for any of the other groups that could significantly affect a muse, we would reach out before anything is finalized or implemented.
that's all for now! please like this post to show that you've read it. thank you.
