ok i bitch about this a lot but like,,, it just makes me so upset when people misinterpret blue and like fucking everyone does i'm just going to compile all of my thoughts here so i don't have to keep shrieking into the twitter void

yall gotta understand that she was very young when she was kidnapped, and then she was thrust into this situation where she was forced to wear a mask and be subservient and there was a younger child who she had to take care of on top of that--but she had a few things going for her despite the situation bc she was smart, like really really smart, and she managed to not only get herself out, but silver too, and all they had was each other but they couldn't stay together bc it would just be easier to find and take them that way. she had to leave him even though he was younger and didnt even know who his family was or who he was and when she went back home??? her family was fucking gone, they had moved ages ago and now she was ten and alone in the world

so her stealing wasn't because she was greedy or shallow it was because she literally stole to survive because she was a homeless child constantly afraid that her kidnapper was going to find her again and all she had was her brains and, well, herself and theres a lot i could discuss in the context of how she used her sexuality to con at such a young age but i think just. considering that. she was a child using sexuality in that regard sort of puts it in good enough context

and i mean objectively speaking the only truly selfish thing i think i can say blue has ever done was stealing squirtle and even that is sort of questionable bc she sort of did,,, definitely need pokemon yknow? but she stole squirtle bc she saw two boys her age from her hometown getting pokemon and going on their journeys and it wasn't fair! it should have been her too! she was hurt and homesick and jealous and so she took what she thought she deserved because she was a child

i just,,,, despite everything she went through she still had such a? strong sense of justice and loyalty? and she was more chaotic good than anything, still is, bc sometimes she knows that the ends have to justify the means but if it can be avoided she finds a way. she's so clever and intelligent and loves her friends so fiercely and it makes me SO UPSET when people completely ignore her character development and just write her off as a flirty manipulative girl because she actually DOESNT CARE ABOUT SHINY THINGS THAT MUCH SHE WAS JUST A LOST GIRL SEARCHING FOR A FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!1

i sometimes enjoy them like. having feelings for each other but never acting on them because he is a lone wolf (probably does not even recognize his feelings as romantic? shanon and tav's green(f) and blue(m) had a Thing sort of but when they talked he said that he knew he felt differently about her than other girls but he couldn't do anything about it and that was Good i liked it--) and she doesn't like to be tied down and he would be so boring to her after a while and

she needs comfort and love, but she needs excitement too. silver i think is an exception because god knows theyve had their fair share of exciting times together and he's the only one she can just be completely comfortable around 100% of the time no matter what

i also like to ship her with people she can oppose, like hateshipping but not quite. i ship her with petrels a lot because theyre similar enough to get along and have fun but at the same time they still have those definite Issues that make things difficult and interesting. same with Proton except they arent similar theyre just sort of an attractive couple--

i think she's probably still less interested in relationships than people assume because of her flirty ways, like a girl gotta get laid every once in a while but she doesn't often take romance seriously it'll take A Certain Person to really catch her interest and seriously keep it I can totally see her having weird frenemy affairs with hottie some bad guys tho she is just that type

she probably has?? a lot of conflict with Rocket depending on Silver, like if he grows up to align with them or take over after Giovanni that will be a Problem for her at work because she would never put herself against him, no matter what Silver always always always comes first, first to everything

she doesn't want kids she probably won't ever have them and even if she does fall in love or w/e i doubt they'll get married. domesticity isn't really her thing even though she just wants a ""normal"" life she will eventually realize that it really just isn't for her and that's pretty ok

maybe after she retires things will be easier and she'll be able to have that life. maybe if Silver takes over Rocket she'll retire early because she knows she can't properly do her job if the people she's working against include the person most important to her in the whole wide world

Blue has a very intense locker set-up. There are like five padlocks locked onto one another in a row and if somehow you manage to crack them all, the door is probably rigged to open a weird way so that if you try to do it normally (re: anyone but her tries to do it) you get a face-full of some really unpleasant booby traps

there's like nothing even in there she just did it for fucking fun
