Birthday milestone, halfway to 50! Starting the year off with my 1st set of multi-focals and some glaucoma 🙄I apologize, I have been absent from social media the last few months. I needed to take some time to myself and recalibrate my compass. But, now, I'm baaaaack❣️
Initially, after Laura left, I nearly succombed to self-doubt, and thought the only choice I had, was to transfer P4P's animals and relocate. The more and more I worked to put this plan in-place, the more the Fates worked against me. In Their infinite wisdom, they steered me full circle.
I founded Petals-4-Paws as a "permanent" sanctuary for animals in-need, specifically, seniors and special needs animals, whose lives were in danger of being cut short simply because they had aged and/or needed special accommodations. On a deeper level, it is the orphan in me that needed a permanent sanctuary.
How could I possibly give up so easily on them and what I've built here. To be challenged by Life, and not even try to follow through with my commitment to them and my commitment to those who have supported, encouraged and donated to this organization to provide these animals with a permanent sanctuary.
After much thought, consideration, and bending the ears of my inner circle of family and friends, I've decided to take a HUGE leap of faith in 2025, and try to keep P4P open. Curtis and I and a handful of others have been working, cleaning and re-organizing the main hse, guest studio, and upper and lower catteries to make them the way I originally envisioned, as well as, to create inviting spaces for volunteers and visitors.
2025 will be a year of re-birth for P4P, and I am working on a new organization name (please submit any suggestions you would like the Board to consider), as there is no longer a garden nursery onsite; therefore, no longer literal "petals" for paws.
New intakes will not resune until all adoptable dogs and kitties have been successfully homed; and, until I recover from bolting my body back together, as I am undergoing cervical spine surgery this month, and rotator-cuff and parathyroid surgeries in later months. I desperately need ALL of your continued support and encouragement!
I want to take a moment to say, THANK YOU, to my Family, friends and P4P supporters who took time to check in on me and the animals during our social media absence ❤️
I want to thank the ALL the P4P donors that contributed to the Fall Match Donation fundraiser - a pawmazing $2,500 was raised and matched! ❤️
And, I want to thank the following P4P donors that sent Christmas gifts and donations to the sanctuary animals: my Aunt Audrey Jacobsen, Arc Kitty Angels, Martin Bresnahan & Kelly Lyons, Lori Tewksbury & Sue Tewksbury, patrons of kitties, Scoot & Pip, Patricia Dragony, patron of kitty Basquiat and Stephanie Weisman, patron of kitty, Arial ❤️
In the words of Jerry Maguire, I ask about this new chapter for me and P4P, "Who's comin' with me/us?" 🥹
