◢ ▋PAVEMENT OF THE PAST ▋◣
Peter was, by all means, the kind of boy that always avoided the gaze of others. He never wanted to be the centre of attention, instead doing his best to live his life completely averagely. Even if he was smarter than most people, he never made it clear. He even tried to keep a low profile in his own family, keeping out of his father’s line of sight as best as possible. That was fine by his sister though, considering she was the one that ended up taking all the attention for herself. It made everyone’s lives much easier if she was the one everyone focused on. Peter lived in mediocrity and thrived.
Well, he did until college. That was when he met Ana. Ana was a beautiful girl, not to mention kind-hearted. By all means, she should have been interested in just about anyone else other than Peter. She instead saw him in one of the classes they shared and decided, for some reason, he was the person worthy of her time. She’d come up to him every day and basically force conversation on him. For the first few weeks, Peter would be polite and then leave the conversation, hoping to keep his life the way it was – quiet. Ana, however, wasn’t the kind of person that gave up easily. Every day she’d be at his desk and every day she’d chat to him about something pointless. Until she asked the fateful words, “do you want to go for coffee?”
So, at the age of twenty-two, Peter went on his first date. He fell in love with Ana as quickly as one person could. She became the centre of his world and helped him come out of his shell. Peter went from the bookworm that did nothing to someone with pictures of himself skydiving and mountain climbing. His entire life changed so quickly because of her. So, when he was twenty-four and they had been living together, he took out that little black box with the little ring inside. She didn’t even let him get through the question before she said yes. Peter was happy. So, blissfully happy.
Until the night a vampire with a bit of a vendetta against humankind found them. The vampire was hungry, angry and eager to make just about anyone pay that they could find. Considering Ana’s parents had been part of the forces that had been slaughtering supernaturals for the past thirty years, it gave the vampire a lot of motivation to ruin her life. And he did so by turning the man she loved into a creature of the night. He fed Peter his blood and then snapped his neck in front of her. No mercy.
When Peter woke up, Ana was gone. She’d left him because of what had been done to him. He was heartbroken and more importantly, he was thirsty. He was transitioning and he needed blood. He wandered through the streets, finally coming across someone. Before he even registered who it was, he had fed. He killed them and completed his transition. When he regained his senses however, he found himself looking into the lifeless eyes of his Ana.
Deciding he needed to be somewhere he couldn’t hurt anyone else, he wandered. He only moved by night and tried to keep himself far, far away from any possible humans. It wasn’t until he came across another vampire that directed him towards Hollow Grove that he finally felt like he could live on his own. With minimal slip ups along the way, he finally arrived in the supernatural safe haven. Still scared he’s going to do more damage than good, he’s spent the two weeks he’s been around hiding in his home. Still, he’s finally around people that can help him with his condition. Getting some fresh air is definitely in his best interests.
◢ ▋NATURE OF THE BEAST ▋◣
Peter’s by all means a klutz. He can never really filter what he’s saying, but not out of attempts to be rude. He just isolated himself from people for so long he never learned how to properly talk to them. He’s utterly selfless, putting everyone’s life and needs above his own, to the point where he really doesn’t know how to take care of himself. He’s without a doubt a guy too nice for his own good and far too nice to be a vampire. Though, his new impulses have been making him a bit more unpredictable in ways he doesn’t really understand.
