↳ I Bet My Life | ✧ | Petra & Fane
Fane wanted to believe that she was right, that all would work out, but after ignoring his instinct earlier that day he couldn’t help but feel like maybe they should leave now and definitely by tomorrow. His mind kept flitting to Easton, and Kieran, and how the rest of the group would react when they found out about the oncoming horde. He couldn’t shake the feeling that everything wouldn’t be all right this time. “We just have to be prepared and stick together. That’s all that we can do.” Petra’s answer was about what he would say if their positions were reversed. “I guess not,” he let out a small chuckle. It only reiterated how much she trusted him and he in turn, her.
He was glad she didn’t ask questions about what he meant by their understanding and that she liked Easton as well. “I’ll be honest with him. The horde’s coming he can either take his chances with the people here, or leave with us. Then it’s up to him. We’re going to have to tell people about it eventually. It would be wrong not to.” While it would be easier to slip out unnoticed that night, Fane knew the right thing to do was at least tell people what they had seen. It was only fair if he wanted to give them a chance at getting out alive. “Yeah I’ll talk to her in the morning. I’d like to have her with us and Kieran, but I don’t know if she’ll leave or what he’ll do.”

“…maybe we can see about leaving as soon as we are assured the rest will be told about the horde?” Since as much as she wanted to leave, she felt it was only fair to let the rest know of the upcoming danger so they could at least be prepared for it, since she did had a bad feeling and it will be better to leave before anything happened, even if it was the two of them, even if she still thought it was wiser if they had more people with them just in case. “Alright, so that’s it then. We will prepare and stay by each other’s side to be ready for anything.” Or at least as close as they could manage without making people suspicious about it, though it really shouldn’t be since they were from the same group. “You are guessing right.” As it was, he was probably the person she could say she trusted the most given the circumstances.
She slowly nodded, she was quite aware that people needed to know about it and they all needed to think of a way to break the news to the rest without causing a panic that might make things more difficult in the long run. “I know we have to, it’s a matter of finding the proper way of telling them since this is something that can easily bring panic and chaos from everyone.” And that could be a death sentence for all of them, panic was the worst emotion to have when dealing with the upcoming danger since it made people irrational and stupid, but keeping this a secret was not an option either. “Once you have, come find me to tell me how it went and then we will decide what will be the best course of action, if we should take our chance and leave or stays.”
"Oh yes, the incident," she grumbled and rolled her eyes, clearly displeased about whatever it was that had caused it. She hadn’t got to the bottom of it but at the end of the day, it didn’t really matter who had done it. It had happened, the dinner bell had been sounded and the dinner guests were on their way. Simple as that. "I gotta tell one of the leaders or something. Or maybe start it as a whisper throughout the group, let everyone think that the other people don’t and can’t know it so they don’t start flipping the fuck out," she gave a lose shrug and played with her mug before grinning and nodding her head. "I broke a guys wrist on the subway once. I was off duty and going around, doing my errands or whatever, and he decided up skirt photos were a good idea. Oh no," and she giggled a little and let out a little sigh. "Who would have thought there would come a time when I missed subway perverts,"
“One has to wonder if the person that did it really had no other choice or they couldn’t be bothered to find another way to deal with it.” Because wasn’t it a bit of an unspoken rule that guns were only to be used in very dire situations, using a gun might just as well equate to walking towards a horde as if it meant nothing. Now that only left them with less time and having to deal how to break the news to the others, because they had to at least be prepared. “You mean let the grapevine do all the work for us? But do you think they will believe it if we do it like that. Maybe the best will be talking with the leaders and they can know the best way to break the news, since they are supposed to know the general behavior of groups and the best way to deliver this kind of news.” Or at least that was supposed to be the way, with her group most of the danger had been direct and there was no need for news breaking most of the time. “Well he deserved it then, those idiots or the ones that use the excuse of the place being backed to rub off on you, the worst but between them or the flesh eating freaks we have now, I prefer the perverts as well.”
↳ I Bet My Life | ✧ | Petra & Fane
“Honestly Petra, I have no idea what we’re going to do, but we’ll get everything together and if we have to, we’ll just leave in the morning.” There was a part of him that wanted to leave right there, but he knew that going at night unprepared was practically suicide. He hoped that they’d have time to discuss things over with a few people and leave with supplies and no one would have a problem with it, but he knew that was wishful thinking. “Well what do you think Petra? Do you honestly want to stay with all of these people?” He needed to know what her opinion was on everything if they were going to leave together. He didn’t need any lingering animosity between them.
He listened to her thoughts on the choices he’d divulged closely, using the information to help him gauge whether or not he had chosen wisely. Fane was glad to hear she seemed all right with Easton, as he was rather hoping he could join them. “I don’t think Easton will be a problem at all. We understand each other.” He wasn’t sure how much Petra had gathered about his past and while he wouldn’t hide his history as a street kid, he also wasn’t apt to share about it either. Her thoughts on Kieran weren’t a surprise at all and Fane was still trying to figure the other man out himself. “Kieran, I’m still deciding. I’m also not sure with things with Marley.” He wasn’t quite sure what was going on between them, but he had a feeling at least Marley wanted them to stay together. “I don’t know if she has the title, but in a lot of ways, she wears the crown. I think she might have a problem with everyone not staying together.”

“We will figure it out, sooner rather than later but we will.” Since she did had the feeling they wouldn’t leave the following morning, no matter how much of a good idea it was, even if they had bags ready and packed to leave as soon as possible, she also couldn’t oversee it was only the two of them. And while she wouldn’t mind the arrangement, she had after all spent all of this time surviving in a group of three counting herself; they might still need more numbers. “If I did, do you think I will be agreeing so easily to leave with you?” And really she might not have minded staying with the original group she found, but then they had stumbled with more strangers and that added new variables she wasn’t comfortable with.
She just hummed in agreement about Easton; she wasn’t that entirely privy about his past, while she could suspect some things she had never pried about it. It was like some sort of unspoken rule to never ask about each other past or at least not in depth, since that meant getting to know each other and building attachments or bonds, which was something they couldn’t afford at the moment. “Then I hope he agrees to come with us, and if he doesn’t maybe he will don’t tell on us if he figures it out.” Easton was after all the other person in their group she felt the most at ease with. But the other two options were still this unknown factor she wasn’t sure about, Kieran was reckless and Marley might feel bound to her group and she wasn’t sure if they influenced each other due to whatever they had. “That’s what I might think as well, it will be a matter to find out what she feels and thinks.” Which she was sure was something Fane was going to do at some point.
Easton frowned slightly, though said nothing. He remembered everyone he’d run into. Some he’d seen twice, because he was travelling back and forth between the states. For the time he’d spend on the road he thought of himself as pretty open minded and lucky to have met so many, getting along with them more often than not. He pressed his lips together. “Surely we can keep our eyes open, wherever we go next from here on out. We’ll find some eventually.” He smiled. “So don’t just say we don’t from the beginning. It’s like ‘bad karma’ or somethin’.”
Petra noticed the frown but didn’t comment on it. “I am sure that we will, I don’t think a lot of people will pay attention to some of that stuff eventually.” Though she was sure at the start some might have to put signs or paint messages, she had seen some of those painted on walls or signs telling friends or family members were to go before she had found and joined this group. It had been rather sad to see them and knowing the people that left the messages and those they were intended for were dead. She tilted her head a bit. “I suppose you’re right, we don’t need more bad karma.”
"After a while, I have to ignore my gut instinct because it thinks everything is off," and she gave a little laugh and a shake of her head, sipping on her tea again. She nodded again, she was feeling better already, sometimes it was a matter of just acknowledging that there was a lot going on in your head and after that, it all sort of fell into place. "Absolutely it’s natural that we worry," she said with a nod, playing with her mug. She pursed her lips and tapped her fingers on the table, a rhythmic rolling of her fingers against the surface. "We need a plan. A good plan, a good solid plan so we can tell them about the hoarde, but at the same time, have everyone’s back," and she tutted her tongue and leaned back a little. Her mind was working and she laughed a little at Petra, finishing her mug. "Did you really talk to people like that on the subway?"
“I guess that’s fair enough.” And she supposed it made sense, but Petra still relied on it from times to times and it had helped her a lot, but maybe that was because prior to all of this her life had been quite different and hadn’t faced dangerous situations as some of the people that were part of the group. She nodded just a bit, she hadn’t been able to sleep despite that Fane had been right there, but the worry was something she couldn’t exactly turn off to ignore. “If that’s the path we want to go we might need to do it soon, especially if you take into account a certain incident that might have shortened our time even more.” She still wasn’t fully aware of the full situation, but the shooting might as well have been a dinner bell for the horde. A small pout appeared on her face then. “Just the ones that tried to take the chance to place their hands where they shouldn’t be, I wasn’t about to let that happen, you know.”
"So you carry a knife around a lot?" Kyle didn’t blame her, it was his mistake for sneaking up on her and he wanted to change the subject. "Where is it right now?"
“It’s better to be safe than sorry, don’t you think?” And being prepared had been a reason she had learned early on, she couldn’t leave things to chance or luck, those things had never helped her since this started and she could only count on herself. “Within easy reach and that’s all you need to know.”
↳ I Bet My Life | ✧ | Petra & Fane
“Yeah, we should have something together before we go to sleep, we really just don’t know when it’s coming so we should be prepared as much as possible.” He wasn’t quite sure what they could do, or how much they could plan, but they needed to try their best. Fane wondered if either of them would be able to sleep at all that night. They should take shifts if anything.
Petra brought up a point that he had been thinking about as well and one that was making him weigh their options heavily. “I do have a few people that I’ve considered asking, but yeah, like you said, I’m not sure what they’re going to say. I asked you because I was hoping you’d say yes, but I also knew that you wouldn’t care if I left without you either.” There was no point in sugarcoating it. He wanted to stay with Petra, but he also knew that if he had moved on without her that she wouldn’t go blabbing about it. “I need to find out who is set on staying with this group. If I can get their overall opinion on things and how they stand, I can have a better idea of who to talk to.” He was still hesitant to tell her everything, but if they were going to go through with this, they might as well start planning. “Easton was with us before and he’s a lot like me and I think he’d be comfortable sticking with us. Kieran, I know he was careless, but I think it’s because he’s used to being on his own. He’s knowledgeable, and strong, and he’d be a good man to have on our side. Marley too, but she’s one I’m worried about because she came from the other group and she might want to stick with them…” Really his worry was that the two groups would want to stick together and he couldn’t bring himself to be comfortable with that.
Her annoyance was almost cute and really all he could hear was I’m a ballerina and I’m super strong and flexible, which of course wasn’t at all what she had actually said. “Well I just hope you can still do those fancy pointe positions, they might come in handy,” he teased, his imagination already running wild. “Oh, that’s a promise.” Fane sealed the deal with a kiss, letting his tongue brush against hers briefly before pulling back again.
His hands ran back down her legs as they wrapped around his waist, squeezing to pull them tighter against him. A low growl escaped him as she rotated her hips and struck him again. His mouth reached out after her as she licked his lip and a wicked grin appeared at her words. Fane had to give it to her, the girl knew how to play the game, but it still didn’t answer his question. Given her behavior he had a feeling the answer was yes, but he really couldn’t be sure. “Not here,” he pressed a finger to her lips and slowly trailed it down, taking his hand and squeezing her breast gently, “but here.” He pulled back so he could continue his path downwards letting his hand glide across her stomach and over her waistband settling between her thighs where he cupped her mound, “and here.” His fingers began to stroke up and down, pawing at the seams of her pants. Fane watched her the entire time, wanting to see the expression on her face as he touched her.
“Some basics or at least a more or less solid idea as to what we are going to do, which will be better than nothing.” Probably at the most, they might get the bags ready and have a more or less route in case they needed to at the very least escape the base, even if it was them and maybe later see if they found others on the way. Since she doubted she was going to get some sleep, if something were to happen she will be aware and alert enough.
Well he hadn’t been wrong with that, even if she had refused, which maybe an unconscious part of his mind probably knew that she wouldn’t since she had already expressed to him that she didn’t felt comfortable here and even implied that she wanted to leave, she wouldn’t have gone about telling the rest since they were not prisoners here and they could leave when they wanted or that’s what she kept telling herself. “Yes, I think some might think it’s more useful to stay as a bigger group than splitting apart.” Which more or less made sense, since strength in numbers, but what was the point when you probably didn’t trusted most of the people in the group to have you back? She was quiet when he told her just who he was planning to probably approach and she couldn’t say she was surprised about the choices. “I think Easton might agree, I have talked with him as well and I have a feeling he might. I will not lie, I am on the fence with Kieran after what happened in the run, and he is strong but for someone knowledgeable he put us all at risk due to some of his actions, but if you feel you can trust him despite that I will trust your judgment about it.” Since that kind of actions could put the group in danger, not that she didn’t liked Kieran but she also had to think of safety. “Marley might be the hardest to feel, since it seems like she might be loyal or feel responsible for her group since she is one of their leaders, isn’t she?”
She wasn’t sure if Marley was or not, she just knew that John was and she had no idea how that had happened when he looked so damn cocky about everything. Petra looked at Fane with a small little smile. “Why yes as a matter of fact I still can’t, but how exactly will those come in handy, hmm?” She was sure he had already thought of more than one situation in which her still latent flexibility could be useful for him. And he was making another promise to her, the second one in less than a week, what an interesting turn of events.
Another heated shiver ran down her spine when he actually growled at her and she wasn’t going to deny that was hot as hell or that she felt just a bit smug she was the one that brought that forth. She tensed a bit in surprise when his hand moved over her breasts and then it kept going, she could have stopped but she didn’t really wanted to do so, she bit her lower lip and looked back at him when his hand found it’s apparently wanted destination. “Hmm, well here…” One of her hands moved too slowly move over one of her breasts. “…was the place it got the most attention, kind of like setting camp there for a few moments, there were two that did took the time to discover that I was quite sensitive and responsive.” Her hand moved to rest on the desk. “And here…” She tilted her hips and pressed against his fingers, a small little whimper escaping her lips. “…not as much as I wanted, they preferred for me to go down on them, not that’s a big deal but I would have liked to get the favor back sometimes instead of being left to finishing myself off.”
"Perhaps, but I could have gone about it differently. No one was hurt in the end, and that’s all that matters, right?" She sipped her tea and gave the blonde a warm smile at her offer to listen to her problems. "Yes, you are a girl," she agreed with a small nod. "At the moment, they’re just annoying. If they start to weigh me don, I’ll come to you first, I promise," It was a sweet gesture on her behalf and she took another sip of her tea. She hummed and nodded her head. "I’ve been having a very similar series of thoughts. It’s a matter of, who do we tell, I guess?" and she sighed softly. "I don’t know if we are. We’re only just settling in here-" she cut herself off and shook her head a little. "I’m worrying about the same thing," and she gave a small laugh, because what else could she do. "Anything else weighing bouncing around in that head of yours?" and she peered at her closely and canted her head to the side. "I heard you handle the dead head, I heard you yell at it. Looking back, I’ll admit, it made me laugh. It sounded like you were pushing someone out of the way on the subway,"
“You could have yes, but I think it was a in the spur of a moment reaction and not a lot of time to think on a right way to go about it. Yes, it is, but we might also need to be extra careful in the future and maybe trust our gut instinct if we will something is off.” Because she was sure that she hadn’t been the only one that had a bad feeling about it, Fane had told her he had as well. She just smiled a bit. “Alright then, hopefully it won’t come to that and you will be able to find answers to those particular questions.” She listened to her quietly, they had neglecting telling the rest what had happened, but what will happen if they did? They will cause the rest to panic and it will get into a chaos, then there was the fact someone had pretty much provided the horde a clear sign of where they were. “I think it’s just natural that we worry? I mean, that horde will be dangerous and we need to make sure this place is protected, but also telling the rest might cause them to panic.” Wisely she decided not to mention she wasn’t exactly settling here. “No, just that since it’s not like we have a lot of options to handle this.” She shook her head a bit and a small smile twitched her lips then. “Well the damn thing was getting in my way, just like sometimes people in the subway did.”
↳ I Bet My Life | ✧ | Petra & Fane
“Yes we have.” In Fane’s opinion, the trip had taught him several lessons. Paying closer attention to his surroundings and trusting his instinct were at the top of the list, but they certainly weren’t the only ones. He’d realized that perhaps he had been too quick to trust Kieran, or at least his judgment. He’d let his sexual attraction drive his decisions and he was lucky he hadn’t gotten them all killed. It was part of the reason he’d neglected to stay by Petra’s side. He was too busy worrying about where Kieran was and whether or not he was going to leave them, or really him. The run had also continued to increase his thoughts of Marley and he was glad for her quick thinking and leadership skills. Then there was the slowly unfolding whatever between he and Petra and the obviously continuing whatever between Marley and Kieran.
Despite his attempts to focus on the oncoming horde, he found himself thinking far too much about how he felt about beginning to bond with others and whom he was possibly willing to let himself connect with or at least trust enough to continue to be with them. “Yeah, as soon as we get the bags ready we can hop up there and start looking at possibilities.” He also wondered about the risks and benefits of sharing their plans and ideas with others and what it could mean. There was no telling how people would react to them talking about leaving, it could go either way and Fane knew they needed to be cautious. Not to mention deciding whom he possibly wanted to join them when all went to hell.
Fane listened to her speak and tried to wrap his head around the fact that Petra was a virgin and that she was essentially asking him to take her virginity. It was an unfamiliar situation; at least, it was one he hadn’t been in a very long time. It was more than that though; there was a serious implication of trust on her part of him much more so than if this had happened in the old world. Then again, in the past he would never have been in this situation. There wouldn’t have been promises or sweet comforting touches. Petra would never have allowed herself to spend time with him and he wouldn’t have given her the time of day.
“So you gave up sex for dancing?” He couldn’t help but laugh. “That’s some serious commitment.” Fane had never passed up sex in his life, at least not until it compromised his safety as it could now. He’d be lying if her status weren’t a huge turn on. There was a hesitation too; one that confirmed his thoughts that right now wasn’t the time, but also an increased desire to be with her. “No, it doesn’t bother me,” Fane reassured her between a series of kisses placed along her neck. “It surprises me and…” He stopped attacking her throat and looked at her once more. “I’m just surprised you’re asking me…I mean I want to, don’t get me wrong, I really want to, but you’re first time…” Fane just watched her for a moment and then realizing he didn’t want her to feel strange he decided to add, “I’m not gonna let you die a virgin okay?” He looked down at her beaming hoping to lighten the mood, “And I promise I’ll make it worth your wait.” His hands slid up her thighs again until they reached her hips and he clenched down, bringing his body into hers once more. He rolled his hips causing his quickly hardening dick to rub against her center. Even through their clothes, the friction was delicious and he bit down on his bottom lip and sighed. There was still a lingering thought on his mind and one he was worried to ask because he didn’t know if he could just walk away if the answer was no. “Have you ever been touched, and kissed?” His eyes flitted downwards instinctively for a moment but he kept his gaze locked with hers.
The run had been rather eye opening in several ways, shedding light on the behavior of the people she had gone through and how some of her senses were still there, even if they were a bit dulled, which she needed to work on and quick if they were going to end out in the road again. They might need to go back to the planning board when it came to runs again, they might need some semblance of more organization and what to do in case things went south. “We will do better next time, I’m sure of it.” Or at least she wanted to believe that was going to be the case.
“Alright that sounds good, I am sure we might be able to at least have some basics before we end going to sleep.” Or at least she hoped as much, she wanted to have some ease at having something more or less definite about how to deal with the upcoming danger. She was more than sure they wouldn’t be able to defend this place or at least not completely, which didn’t left a lot of options, and that was probably another thing that was going to keep her from getting any kind of sleep tonight. “I am sure you already have some people in mind to let them on about this and maybe ask them to come with us, but…but if they refuse, can we trust them not to tell the rest of the group of this?” She didn’t wanted someone like John finding out, since he was a bit of a lose canon and she wasn’t sure what he could do.
Petra really didn’t thought it was that odd that she was still a virgin, sure she had pretty much been the only one in her social group and from all the people she knew that still was one, and while they had teased her a bit about it but they had never exactly been too forceful on the subject and they had let it be, she sometimes even forgot she was one. It was odd maybe, but fate hadn’t been that agreeable for her to lose that particular characteristic of hers, either with people interrupting or just the flings not progressing to that, and well alright she was quite aware of what she was more or less asking him at the moment or for it to happen in the future, she mildly glared at him when he laughed at her.
“Excuse me, not only was I passionate about it, but do you have any idea how much work out ballet is? I mean you work like 75% of your body muscles while doing the en pointe position and that’s only the first one.” And well she really hadn’t wanted to add unnecessary strain to that and she was sure sex was going to add to it and she didn’t fancied that, even though the other party involved had made her consider it a lot. She shivered when his lips moved against her neck, that had been a rather weak spot for her and she tilted her had a bit. “Good.” She was a tad bit surprised she was asking as well, but then she trusted him enough and felt comfortable with him to ask something like this of him. A bright smile appeared on her face then at the comment of not letting her die a virgin. “Oh is that another promise?”
She had no doubt he was going to make it worth her while, her body was already quite responsive to him and it could be due to all the time that had passed by but it still counted, with a small hum her legs wrapped a bit more tightly around his waist and rolled her hips back in response, she knew they shouldn’t be doing this but she wanted to see how long it took him actually pull away. She moved a bit and teasingly ran her tongue against his lower lip. “…touched?” She looked at him innocently confused. “And kissing? Isn’t that what we have been doing so far?”
"It does. I’m just, I normally have such a good hold on my temper and I let go of it and it was a tad awkward. But thank you," and she gave another short little smile. "Yes, those exact sort of questions and then the extensions on those questions," she made a frustrated noise and waved her hand at the whole thing. She nodded and went about making the other woman a cup of tea. Conversations were better with a beverage in the middle of them, it helped people to think, gave them time to sort their thoughts while they sipped at their cup."What’s bothering you?" she asked, sitting back at the table and handing the cup of tea over. She would get back to how she was doing and what not, first she wanted to see how she was doing.
“Well I think there were rather valid reasons for you to get angry.” She had kind of been a bit pickled with Kieran after she was explained the situation and now she was at the point in which she wouldn’t willingly go out on a run with him or at least not without level headed people that could keep him somehow under control and she really hoped Marley could manage that. “Hmm, you know, if you need someone to hear to those questions or try to help you find answers, I can help, and I am a girl after all.” She said in a light and calm tone hoping to make the atmosphere just a tad bit lighter, but she really wouldn’t mind listening even though she was also aware it wouldn’t happen. “Just the running in with that horde, it worries me and makes me wonder if we are prepared for it.”
↳ I Bet My Life | ✧ | Petra & Fane
“Yeah, exactly. We just gotta be more careful from now on.” He was sure neither one of them would be making that mistake again anytime soon, if ever. He listened to her thoughts on what they should do and was glad that he agreed with about everything she said. “Yeah, we need to make sure all of our stuff is ready tonight and the extra bags.” He hated to say the next part, but he knew it was true. “They could come tonight or tomorrow. We need to be ready to go even if we don’t have time to come up with a more concrete plan. We should be prepared by the time we go to sleep and then figure the rest out in the morning as soon as possible.” He wondered what would happen if people saw the two of them mapping or if they heard whispers of them leaving. They were free to leave in his mind. With the supplies they had brought in that day and no one could stop them. He didn’t want it to come down to that though. With the possibility of a horde coming he was sure that others would be willing to plan to leave as well.
God she was such a tease and he’d love to take her right there with everyone watching as he made her moan and scream. If she didn’t care, he certainly didn’t. In fact, it was a huge turn on. His smile broadened and he had half a mind to go through with it when she spoke again. The horde. It’s why he had stopped them in the first place. They had just spent all that time talking about being prepared. Virgin? Did she just say virgin? Fane had left his hands on her thighs, lying flat when she started to say that she didn’t think it was a good idea. His fingers clenched down on her legs in shock as his eyebrows shot up. “Wait, wait, wait…You’re telling me that you’re a virgin?” He was almost too awestruck to get his words out. “Really?” Fane was baffled by the possibility. Yes, she was younger than he was, but he lost his v-card years before she had. Even before everything went crazy she was old enough, right?
“And we will be we have learned our lesson fine and well.” Maybe even learned that certain people needed more attention if they planned it again or just make extra sure to check all the walkers were gone or that had not gathered together. Again she nodded to him, they seemed to be in the same wavelength when it came to planning this little thing, the extra bags were a given to be done tonight and maybe they could plan some quick routes on his room, since it was private there and no one will see them doing so to suspect a thing, at least a quick one in case the horde appeared tonight. “The bags might not take long, I hope, and since I will apparently be moving to your room and since you had it for yourself, maybe we can do a quick just in case route there since we won’t have everyone else eyes on us and being suspicious of our activities.” While she was aware they were not prisoners here and they could leave, certain people might notice and want to tag along, people that they probably didn’t want with them.
Well she was going to take the smile as a good sign, but she had meant it, she didn’t give a damn if people heard it wasn’t such a big deal and it’s not as if she was going to be ashamed later, people were probably going to talk when they saw them start sharing a room anyway. But the horde made it a very, very bad idea at the moment and they needed to refocus on that. She jumped a bit in surprise when his fingers tightened against her thighs and she just gave him a look. “Yes, yes I know that’s a very rare and odd thing, more so since usually at my age that’s already gone, but I am.” And really now she wasn’t sure if he was looking at her as if she was weird or not, “I mean there was never really a chance to actually go all the way, as they say, and the closes I was to it, well, I remembered I had a rather intense training session the following day for a new ballet show.” And she hadn’t fancied arriving already sore or whatever. “Does…does that bothers you?”

“Yeah, we were, but I think we were just so shocked to see such good stuff that we didn’t want to think about it.” He shook his head slightly trying to understand how they had all let themselves be fooled. “Well, I appreciate it, really,” he smiled back at her. It was strange hearing her say that she wanted him to be happy. Of course, he wanted her to be happy too, and Kieran, and even Marley, and Easton, but it was odd hearing someone else say that’s what they wanted for him.
“No. I mean there’s really no way of knowing when the horde is coming or from which direction. All we can do is have all our stuff ready, map out some routes, and try to stick together.” They could always leave now, but something about that didn’t sit right with him. He wanted to be fully prepared and onboard with a few people, not just Petra, before he just snuck out in the middle of the night. A wide grin broke across his face when she said she’d stay with him. It meant that he didn’t have to be alone. While he didn’t trust her completely, he trusted her enough to let her be part of this new group he was attempting to put together. Even if it were just he and Petra, he’d be happier than if he were on his own, but he really wanted more than just two people, it was just safer that way. “Yeah, I need to restock my bag and gather up some other basic things for whoever ends up with us.” He’d wait until he spoke with others and felt things out before asking Petra. She said she wanted to stick with him and he hoped that meant no matter whom else he was with.
His head tilted against her touch, delighting at the sensation of her fingers in his hair. Every movement of her tongue against his increased his need to devour her. He had to be closer and his fingers dug into her flesh as her legs wrapped around him. Again with the sighing and the moaning and he just dove deeper into her mouth. Then there they were pressed against one another, Petra moving herself into his body and he practically gasped into her mouth until he was reminded of where they were and the situation at hand. He groaned in frustration as she stroked his neck, but couldn’t bring himself to pull away from her. She was still rubbing against him and between that and the little smile and her words he almost lost it. “No. I don’t want to go get the stuff now, but I have to, because if I don’t stop now then I’m just gonna fuck you right here, on this desk, and I don’t care who hears us. Now is that really what you want?” His hands wrapped around her waist and he massaged the skin briefly before moving to her thighs and running his fingers up and down. He looked down at her with a mischievous grin before licking his lips and pulling his bottom petal between his teeth, biting down gently.
“All that good stuff that no one had claimed, so yes, we were just blinded by all the possibilities and all the good having them will do for us.” There had been things there that she hadn’t seen in years, many medicines that she thought had been lost forever and ones that were still good to use. But she still had that feeling and she hadn’t spoken when she had the chance. “Yes, I am sure that you do, darling.” It hadn’t been such a big deal and it had been easy to do, but he seemed to appreciate it and that’s all that mattered.
Petra could only nod at his words, already knowing that, as it was they were on what she considered borrowed time. It felt like a ticking bomb just waiting to go off and they weren’t even sure of what kind of time frame they had to prepare everything, “We should start with the mapping of routes tomorrow at the latest, since I guess we can go and prepare the extra bags now.” It will be the best time to do it without anyone being suspicious of their actions, since everyone was probably still dazzled at seeing so much after a supply run and they might get away with it. “Sounds like we have the basic bones of a plan,” And she wasn’t going to ask who he was going to approach about this new plan, she was sure that Marley was going to be one, she wasn’t in their original group but the woman was reliable and was strong, she also had the feeling he was going to approach Kieran and with him, well, with him she wasn’t sure considering his recent actions.
A small part of her felt a bit bad at how much she was frustrating him and she was in exchange frustrating herself if she had to be honest, she hadn’t realized how deprived she had been of physical contact and she knew she was being a bit greedy, but he was giving it to her and she had no qualms about taking and giving back as much as he was, but there were other things she needed to take into consideration. A small hum escaped her and she tried not to be too aware of his hands on her thighs or the fact that their bodies were still rather intimately intertwined together, as much as they could be while still wearing clothes. “That sounds so awfully tempting you know, I have kind of a half mind to risk it since I don’t care who hears.” And she was maybe a bit tempted, he was right here, so damn tempting and real it would be so easy. “But I don’t think I will be able to get pass the niggling worry of a horde coming towards us and all the planning to do, and while I am sure this could be like the perfect situation to use my 'I don’t want to die a virgin’ card, I don’t want to have that image flashing in my mind every now and then, you know?”

“Yeah, it’s understandable,” he nodded. Fane was still rather shaken up over it himself. “I agree. We were stupid.” The more he thought about how things had went down, the more he agreed that they should’ve been more wary on the run given what had happened.
Her laugh made him smile even wider. “It’s the little things in life Petra. I gave you that notebook remember? It’s not like I have a guitar to tote around and even if I found one it wouldn’t be worth it. It’s too big. So cigarettes and booze are my little happy things,” he chuckled. It was stupid. To want those things above others, at least he knew there were those that would think that, but it was the familiarity of it more than anything else that put him at ease.
Fane noticed her shudder and hesitate to speak more on the matter. “Well, I’ll be with you, so if anything happens then we’ll make it out together.” He gently grabbed her shoulders and tried to make eye contact with her to assure her that if the horde came, they’d leave and all would be well. Of course he could say that, and believe it with all of his heart, and Petra with hers, but there was no way of knowing for sure.
“We did. We needed the supplies and if we hadn’t gone, then we wouldn’t even know about the horde. It’s part of the reason I wanted to go in the first place, no one has explored the base, just this little block. It was stupid.” If he kept talking about it he would only get angry and he had already said several things that upset Petra, he didn’t want to add to the list.
He was pleased to see her correct herself from if to when because he was sure that it would only be a matter of time. “You’re right. I mean they might not come tonight and for whatever reason, if we get separated when need to have a plan.” There was something else he wanted to ask, something he wanted clarified and while he knew it was a risk, he also knew that time was of the essence. “Petra…I want to stay with you even if the rest of the group splits up…Since it seems like it’s only a matter of time…there are a few other people I wanted to talk to…I just…I didn’t know how you or anyone else would feel about it. There is safety in numbers, as much as I hate to say it, but the two groups together is too much for me and I just don’t trust everyone, even some of the people we were with before.” If Petra wanted to change her mind, now was the time, and he needed to know. He needed to know about all of them, so he could make a plan and choose routes and make sure they had supplies. There was a lot to be done.
“Well that’s good to know,” he gave a lopsided grin and then his brain started moving so fast he didn’t know what to do with himself until he finally gave in. Her little noises flipped a switch in him and he found himself wanting her more than he had originally realized. As soon as he pulled away and looked at her face, tongue running across her lips, he knew he needed more. Kissing Kieran had ignited something within him that he’d kept dormant for some time. Raw desire for another human being and here stood Petra in his arms licking her lips and looking at him. He dove back in, shoving his tongue in her mouth and sighing. A warm sensation spread over him starting at his mouth and travelling across his body, sparking every little nerve along the way. It wasn’t long before he wanted more. He broke the kiss rather abruptly, hands leaving her face and dipping down to curve of her ass cheeks to lift her up into his arms. He brought their mouths together again taking her the few steps to the desk behind her before setting her down and slotting himself between her. His hand brushed against the surface of the desk and felt her bag and he groaned, extracting himself from her once more. “We can’t. Not now. We have to get the stuff…” he exhaled, slightly out of breath and extremely frustrated.
“No, we were just a bit cocky I guess, alright yes I think we were a bit stupid.” Some more than others but she wasn’t about to say that out loud, he probably already knew about it. This was going to work for a lesson for next time they went on a run and they had a bad feeling about it. She just nodded at him, completely understanding what he meant. “Yes, those are the little things that are good to have, and really just like you gave me that notebook, the least I could do was set aside the cigarettes for you since I know you’re going to enjoy them and if you’re happy, then that’s a plus.”
It really wasn’t silly to have some little things from before, it was the main reason that from all the things she refused to part from her mother’s book and Natalia’s locket, everything else could be taken but she was going to fight for those two items. She smiled at him. “I know, we’re going to be prepared for what’s going to happen and we will be fine.” And she had to trust on that, that they will be able to escape this without much issue or anything bad happening to either of them.
“We need to be prepared for any outcome, I guess, this is not something we can fully control but we can be prepared for it.” Since even with his promise to stay at her side and protect her, they still couldn’t be at each other’s side all the time, they could try but there will be times in which achieving that wouldn’t be possible for them. Hearing him say that he wanted to stay with her made her feel oddly touched, it meant that he at the very least trusted her enough to still want to take her to wherever he might wind up in. “Then I guess we will stay together, I want to stay with you as well and so if you leave, I will follow you, alright?” And she was sincere with that, the situation with the groups didn’t bode well to her and if they had to split, she will rather go with him now. “So I guess, we need to start planning things now, to be prepared for whatever it’s going to come our way.”
This time she was more prepared and ready to accept and respond to his need, one that she was just rediscovering herself and hadn’t realized just how much she had missed. All the heady sensations and the physical closeness to another person that helped her to fully remind her that she wasn’t only alive, but that she could still feel alive. One of her hands slid higher, fingers carding against his hair before tugging at it a bit, angling his head better and brushing her tongue against his, feeling a tingle of heat running over her body. She made a small sound of annoyance when he pulled back, but it didn’t lasted long apparently, when she was lifted and out of instinct, her legs wrapped around his waist and a small heated sigh escaped her when their mouths clashed together again
When she was set on the desk, she pulled him closer and this time she wasn’t going to even try to deny the moan that escaped her lips when their bodies were perfectly aligned together and she even pushed back a bit, wanting to get that sensation again and then of course he had to pull back just then. She wanted to scream at him, she really did and she was close to do so, instead she looked at him, her fingers slowly moving up and down the back of his neck, since she hadn’t exactly let him go just yet, and if her hips were moving just a bit against his, taking advantage of their closeness, the smile on her face was innocent enough that it wouldn’t look as if it was in purpose. “Do you want to go, hmm, get the stuff now?”
"Questions," she said, pouring water in the mug and putting a tea bag in afterwards. "Lots of silly girl questions," and she turned and smiled at the girl, brushing the thoughts aside and smiling at the other young woman. "I wanted to check on you, but I was busy throwing a tantrum and then being embarrassed about it. Sorry, about that," and she turned back to the mugs. "Want one?" she gestured before forging on. "How are you after the run?" That was the important bit, how everyone pulled up after the event. She was mostly okay, but she hadn’t spoken to the others about it yet.
“Nah, its okay you don’t need to apologize about that, but if it makes you feel better I accept the apology.” She hummed a bit then. “Silly girl questions as the ones you tend to have when you’re in a girl’s night or sleepovers?” And really how long has it been since she had even thought about that kind of things, the last time something like that happened had been over at the dorms in the ballet school. She blinked at her a bit startled before nodding. “Yes, please.” She was quiet for a bit, pondering on the question. “I’m alive, we got enough supplies but I am also a bit worried you know.” Mostly about that horde, but Marley probably suspected that already. “How are you doing?”
"Last night was a long night. It’s amazing that even at the end of the world, abject terror at every turn, how your stupid brain can obsess over even the dumbest little things," She collected a mug and sighed. "Sorry, ignore me," and she gave a little laugh.
“Well if it helps I can understand that bit about having a long night.” She hadn’t exactly had a very good night, not after that mixed run, while they had gotten supplies they had also stumbled upon a horde and one that will more than likely come here, something that she supposed needed to discuss since she felt rather unprepared. There was also the fact that, alright, she wanted to check on how everyone was doing after the run and Marley looked in a better mood today. “But what’s in your mind, if I might ask?”
