i love it when you start doing little things different & notice how much you’ve grown as a person just by that. like you from a year ago would not have handled that situation the way you are now. you’ve changed for the better. & that is so satisfying
being each other’s safe space while dealing with life >>
Frida Kahlo, from a letter wr. c. January 1925, featured in The Letters of Frida Kahlo: Cartas Apasionadas
[ Text ID: we're going to love each other very much, ok? ]
no but you know what would be nice? experiencing the kind of happiness that doesn’t turn out to be a lesson that I have to mourn over for at least 3 months
Intimacy is not just about sex. It's having heart-to-hearts, staying up all night talking, sharing childhood memories, thoughts, fears, dreams & hopes for the future. It's uncontrollable laughter, direct eye contact and feeling each other without touching - it's exchanging energy
Big huge fan of the way people eyes soften when looking at people they love it’s like they can’t help but let their guard down and open their hearts up
I will never be able to comprehend letting people and their mannerisms go. I still make tea the way a friend that I no longer share the spark with, taught me. I still listen to Frank Ocean and think of the boy who was once a very important aspect of my life. Every time I am in the drink section in the store, I make sure to get the same drink my best friend used to buy for me everyday of eleventh grade. Each time I lose motivation for academics, I remember an online friend who made me believe I could do just about anything. As I watch my show, I think of the guy who recommended it, pondering over the conversation I missed out on due to my excellent timing. My eyes find my siblings, slurping instant noodles and my mind clicks back to a friend that consumed them on a daily basis. Strolling thought the bookstore, I see Dostoyevsky and I think of the girl who let me borrow her copy of, "The notes from the underground", all because i displayed an interest in it. Perhaps, we are the people we love. Perhaps we are an amalgamation of all that we love. Either ways, what we once associate with someone is more than bound to be associated with them forever. I could travel to the end of the world but as soon as I hear a misfits song, I will think of July and adolescence and the most alluring of things. Perhaps we never really let go and carry the burden of once knowing someone to the end of our days. Perhaps that is the way.
hey (with the intention of telling you i love you every 2 minutes)
i am thinking of you very softly right now i hope you're thinking of me
“If you can love someone with your whole heart, even one person, then there’s salvation in life. Even if you can’t get together with that person.”
— Haruki Murakami, 1Q84
giving someone an annotated book is the biggest form of intimacy. it's like, "here's a piece of my soul that i think you would adore"
“One day, whether you are 14, 28 or 65, you will stumble upon someone who will start a fire in you that cannot die. However, the saddest, most awful truth you will ever come to find - is they are not always with whom we spend our lives.”
— Beau Taplin, Hunting Season
it's a different kind of intimacy when you can tell that someone isn't feeling well while they're doing everything to hide their sadness. they become so familiar, you know their inside so well that their pain is seen by you, and most importantly safe with you
do you ever just wanna sit next to someone and listen to everything they could possibly say about anything ever just because you like their face and their voice and their general existence
random reassurance makes my heart go 🥺🥺🥺🥺
