WISE from ZENLESS ZONE ZERO

One half of the duo behind the legendary Proxy, Phaethon, Wise works with his sister to solve cases plaguing New Eridu, and uncover the secrets behind their foster mother's disappearance and framing.

Wise is a pretty laid-back person, taking a lot of odd stuff in stride that may disconcert other people around him.

Always willing to help - especially if it pays the electricity bill!

A hobbyist despite his two jobs, enjoys collecting movies and music, biking, among other little collector activities.

Enjoys teasing (especially his younger sister), but isn't very good at being teased in return. Or sometimes too good, if he just let's it go over his head willingly.

Has learned how to weaponize being a bit pathetic, maybe just a little bit.

"Really? You don't remember me?" It almost felt a bit hard to believe considering it wasn't too long ago the two just met. Though maybe it was the other sibling rather then him?

"Yuzuha? Come on if its a prank you're pulling on lil ol' me you got me good." But somehow she doubted it was. Though the tanuki looked just as concerned as their partner did "Remember Kama? Chasing 'em around was the reason we met in the first place!"

"Ah, no, sorry," it really didn't ring any bells. She brought out her friend - Kama - and she was looking at him skeptically enough that he believed her - Yuzuha. She clearly knew him, but...

"I don't remember, and I feel like I'd remember this little guy."

"But...it's weird. I guess amnesia wouldn't be completely out of the question, considering that being here has become 'not out of the question'..." he thinks aloud, but the lack of Belle and Fairy responding is disconcerting at best. Shaking his head, he interrogates her further:

"Where did we meet? Maybe we can find a gap in my memory."

He wasn't sure protocol here, but he figured he should at least wait outside of the place to meet up with Lighter. It'd definitely be a lot for him to have to scan the crowd.

Tugging on his own clothes, unused to formality, he shifts in his shoes until he sees a familiar face. Waving him down, he pushes away the text about getting the heart pumping, ignoring his own.

"Well, it's no Cheesetopia,"

"But I poked my head in, and the food looks pretty good." Something casual to talk about, it's fine. Belle would definitely be making fun of him by now for how awkward he was being.

It was a Thiren(?) child, who was dressed, well, odd. But that wasn't entirely odd here. Everyone was dressed a little odd here, so he was starting to take that in stride.

Instead, it seemed whatever was furrowing the kid's brow was something he could actually help with. Used electronics stores could be notorious for presenting piles and piles of wires and not much guidance.

"This places videotapes," he offers, poking open the flap of where the tape would insert, showing the metal and mechanics inside.

"Technically it's kind of retro, vintage tech - but I think it's one of the best ways to actually experience movies, still."

"I was starting to get worried I wouldn't know anybody here." He holds the warm cup in his hands, still bitter from the growing wind chill. "But it must be even weirder for you, to have to live in a city like this." Lighter rarely liked to come to New Eridu, and he couldn't blame him.

And this city - island, apparently - was very much not New Eridu. Everything was...Not 'old' tech necessarily, if anything they hadn't returned to anything retro without a specialty shop. It was throwing him off.

There even was something similar to an HDD system, but...

"I did hear there was a desert area, but I haven't really checked it out."

He'd tried to look around without asking, but maybe he shouldn't have thought that this fantasy-esque library would have a movies section. It's also not helping that in stores he can't find tapes.

...Or that the place he's staying doesn't have all of his movie equipment. He tapped his chin, and then turned around to see someone with a veritable stack of books. Probably an employee-

"Oh, hey, excuse me.

"I'm actually looking for your media section. Do you...have one?" The man's face started to fall - can you describe a face turning scary as 'falling'? - and he trailed off, waiting for whatever response was coming his way.

"Oh, no, I have a sister, but she's not-" he raises his hands, waving off the question. In the stranger's defense, the grey haired woman did have similar features to him. His actual younger sister looked more different from him, but at the end of the day, replacing her even jokingly kinda sucked when she wasn't here to react.

Slash - wasn't here at all.

"Sorry about that- you were saying something about an Express? Do you usually live on a train?" He'd mentioned something about the shop, and one thing led to another and suddenly there was a train involved.

He'd heard weirder.

"Whoa, uh," he steps out of the way, someone bloodied leaving the bar. Grimacing at the wounds, he looks back up at the establishment. Some sort of...fight club? He's only seen movies like that - well, a movie like that - not actually experienced it.

A Thiren(?) with rainbow scales stood next to him, poking her head inside of the establishment. Making eye contact with her, he points to the door.

"If you're looking for a regular bar, I don't think you have to fight...

"Or, well, I hope not. I'm not really much of a fighter."

"Um, sorry!" He puts his hands up, the girl looking up at him with big eyes filled with possible concern - maybe a bit of anger? Sadness? He's not sure. She knows him, apparently, but,

"Maybe you're mixing me up with someone else? I only just got here..." Though she seems to know him from somewhere else? Maybe?
