Making fancy headdresses is so much fun. Most of mine are inspired by the floral clearance racks. Like this fall themed ram horn one... Because why not hot glue mini gourds to your head. I threw this look together for a local photoshoot with @yenra the makeup turned out neat. I want to do more mini looks like these. Wonder what theme I should do next. Bahamut photos all day every day. Hope you aren't sick of them yet. I love this photo @jwaidesign took of my Bahamut costume. I especially love that you can see the wheel I carved out of eva foam. Fun fact: I made that wheel in a hotel room. My work requires me to travel quite a bit and we all know con crunch is real. Sometimes I have no choice but to pack my supplies to craft. Only one day left to finish this costume before Katsucon! I've done a lot of work in a few weeks to get this costume done and I'm pretty excited about how everything is turning out! Here's a progress collage of my horned helmet/headdress while I fishing doing sewing... Which is arguably less exciting to share progress photos of. Helmet made out of Eva foam, hand patterned and painted with acrylics. I airbrushed some shading for dimension and decorated with iridescent vinyl scales, worbla bits and iridescent rhinestone. I had beaded some decorative strands to drape across the forehead as well. This thing is so lightweight! Here is my little back wheel or death frisbee. Carved it out of Eva foam floor mats and refined the shape with a dremel and sand paper. Painted with acrylic and then hit it with some airbrushed shading for dimension. Now I gotta figure out how yo wear this thing...... When you can't decide on a fabric... Why not both??? I had gotten the bright sunset ombre fabric a few months ago before I started working on my armor and got distracted by how amazing my holographic scale vinyl looked. When I draped my fabric on my dress form last night the colors were just wrong. So I dug through my fabric stash and found this amazing rose gold netting I had (thank God for my fabric addiction) to replace the bright colors. But it just looked like it was missing something... @_sunsetdragon_ suggested I combine the two. It's kinda amazing.... I had the leggings custom printed from a scale pattern I made.
