dan. i know coming out is weird and difficult and awkward and happy and sad. but thank you. thank you for making me feel accepted even when you weren’t out. thank you for preaching acceptance and love for the past few years. thank you for stamping yourself into our hearts and showing us it’s okay to be who we are regardless of sexuality. thank you for opening your mind and soul to us. thank you for sharing even more of yourself. you didn’t have to but you did and have made thousands of people feel even more loved and accepted. i know it may have been extremely difficult but you have made such a big difference in my life. we wouldn’t be the same without you. thank you thank you thank you.

I’m so proud of him like wow, my heart feels like its bursting. Just, the courage it takes to come out, and with such a cinematic masterpiece with beautiful drawings just makes me want to cry. 

And his stories about homophobia in school- well in primary school we had a “gay step” and if you stepped on it people called you gay and laughed at you. Also I attended a Catholic secondary school with one or two subtly but strongly opinionated teachers and the usual high school bs but with added Catholic teaching, which made things all the more fun when I figured out at 16 what sexual attraction was and that I just didn’t have it. Fun times of thinking I was broken, hurrah.

So yeah, on brand for my experience with Dan’s videos really- sadly relatable and making me want to cry. But anyway, yeah, so proud of him for coming out. That shit be scary af. And as a mostly closeted queer person, thanks.
