Born in Busan, amid the constant sound of autumn rain, Seoyeon grew up in a world between reality and ghost stories. Her mother, a believer in ancestors and ancient Korean myths, whispered stories to her during every storm, stories in which the dead still spoke. Her father, on the other hand, was pragmatic and tough, teaching her how to survive and the necessity of suppressing her feelings. When Seoyeon was eight years old, she saw a ghost for the first time—a little girl in a deserted playground, barefoot and silent. No one else seemed to see her. Shortly afterwards, her mother disappeared without a trace. Officially: missing. Unofficially: forgotten. This loss burned itself deep into Seoyeon's soul, shaping her view of people and the world. She learned early on to fight alone and developed an irrepressible curiosity to document everything.
Now, as a journalist, she uncovers crimes that the police have overlooked and investigates inexplicable events that are officially dismissed as "unexplainable." Her notes are not just reports, but evidence not only for the living, but also for the dead who have not yet let go of their stories. Her greatest motivation: to find out the truth about her mother's disappearance. Between crime scene photos, missing persons, and whispering ghosts, she struggles daily with the question of whether her gift is a curse or the only way to find answers.
✾ ⠀⠀⠀ ⸻ ⠀⠀⠀ Alert, quiet, with eyes that see more than others could bear. Her childhood shaped her: loss, isolation, whispering shadows. With a dark sense of humor, analytical and cautious, she rarely trusts anyone—but she writes down everything she sees, for the living and the dead. Her mother's silver necklace is her constant companion. Cool and heavy on her skin, it warns her when ghosts are near. More than jewelry: memory, protection, connection. Sensitive yet unstoppable, Seoyeon roams through the night, always ready to hear the stories that no one else tells. (Credits for the incredibly talented artist @daemonoria)
