Starting 2021 off with a book!

The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata

Interesting read, recommended by a friend. It was from the female MC’s first person point of view, which made it interesting to read and just see her thoughts and emotions. Would have liked to see a little more build up in terms of the relationship, though the subtlety wasn’t bad. Hope more books are to follow.

This book was recommended by a friend in my discord book club group, Toxin and Tonic. I sampled it and so far it is a complex and interesting read. I can’t tell if it’s going to be like the movie Two Weeks Notice or something else entirely (I didn’t read the summary, I wanted to be surprised.)

Let’s see how good it gets or if it ends up in my DNF pile.

This book gave me a lot of feels, mostly ones where I felt like I needed a fan and a crane to pick my jaw up off the floor but there were other feels as well. The writing is great! Eris is funny and talented. The only shortcoming that I had with it was that there is so much more room for character development. We learned a bit about Christina (FMC) but what about Bill (MCM)? 

Still, I would recommend this to any of my friends who need something to warm them up on a winter’s night. ;)

I got waylaid in my reading choices! Ruby Dixon, one of my favorite authors, recommended this book. I figured I would just sample it... Oh. My. God. It is so steamy, my room could be a sauna at this point! 

Binging this and then back to my regularly scheduled program (I hope!)

Did I mention ambitious? Yes, definitely feeling ambitious. I’m also reading (in addition to Julia Quinn’s The Duke and I) ACOMAF. I finished the first book in 2020, but we aren’t mentioning that year in here. This is the new year, and hopefully a new good one for Feyre.

Have you watched Bridgerton yet on Netflix? Shame on you if you haven’t, it’s such a good show... but it doesn’t overshadow the book. Even though it’s a reread, I’m going to enjoy my time.

Hopefully a great start to the new year! Let’s see what books I’ll manage to read before we find ourselves here again, only in 2022!
